Try switching to the experimental version of the game. I don't have that issue with it and I just switched to it, so maybe its already been addressed and fixed just won't get pushed out until they do the next stable release.

I'd suggest as a starting point clearing your game cache. There is another member here who has all the instructions in his signature. Also go to steam and do a file verification on the game.

It will be broken until they do their next merge of the experimental branch into stable. If you are running stable though it doesn't really serve any purpose or anything so I wouldn't worry about it.
