It just got lagged up so much that it fell over! I was travelling in the Seamoth, at night, close to the bottom with many creatures around.

Now it's happening all the time, whether I'm in a vehicle or not, night or day, whatever depth. Severe lag comes before the inevitable crash. Happens every 10 mins or so.

I only installed it a few days ago, so I'm not working with old save files. I have never received the "Saved Game Outdated" mesg. Is it still worth me clearing the cache directories?

Yes. The cache files get spawned as you play (and save) your game. I reinstalled the game after months of not playing while waiting for enough updates to come through and only a few days after started I had to clear my cache due to stuttering, slow loading and eventually crashing. Once I cleared my game cache all was back to normal like it was the first 5 minutes of being freshly installed. However at least for me, after a few days of playing I start to notice problems again and clean it once again.

OK, thx. Will give it a go. I can't actually get to my bases (crashes every time I move) to follow the video instructions, so will go for the total wipe option.

OK, that worked! Did the fix without the base workaround, for expediency. Game lag is there, but minimal. Thx guys.
