Okay, aside from chasing down eggs which I don't have the energy to do right now, this is as complete as my main Shallows base is going to get. This is the most common "live-in" base I build, on top of that tall rock formation between one of the Big Green Tubes and the western Kelp Forest, so that it can be mostly above water. Therefore I call it "High Reef Base"
Note that this base is 100% legit, requiring about 16 hours farming and exploring. And that's with having some firm idea of what I wanted, having built near versions of it before.
The rock formation, for reference
A complete aerial freecam shot, from above the main dive hatch
Top-down "map" shot.
The two underwater compartments are for bioreactors & water reclamation.
Bottom-center is the entrance / lobby.
Middle-center is the Workshop with storage and fabrication
Bottom-right is the Administration / office & laboratory
Middle-right is living quarters (with attached Head)
And all along the top are Alien Containment modules: Stalker, Reginald, Crash, Fish Display and Large Creature Display
Showing position relative to the Aurora wreck
Main dive hatch, bioreactor & water reclamation level, with production and ornamental hydro-gardens
Inside the entrance hatch
A shot of the fabulous "Head" design copyright Fathom, here.
I added a Medkit fabber and trash bin, and put the window in the ceiling for privacy, but otherwise was unable to improve on Fathom's excellent design.
One of the two "engineering" spaces on the lower level; both are identical.
The entrance above water
I keep live fish, scrap, and a pair of pet stalkers here to "take them out to play" when I need enameled glass...
Views of the Lobby area
First from the entrance tube you just saw...
... and then looking back at the entrance from the Workshop side
The Workshop / Fabrication area
I normally prefer 4 wall-lockers per wall segment, but that seems to be broken as of Silent Running. They only fit 3 now This is much uglier IMO, but I needed the storage space.
The "Administration" area with office & laboratory
The Captain's living quarters
The Arboretum with production beds in the center and ornamental ones around the edges
Solar farm
Moonpools
And finally the tremendously expensive Live Specimen Wing

That base is incredibly gorgeous, I am completely blown away! I just more or less finished my own humble base in my current game - it still needs a few more windows, but it's basically complete.
I basically keep all of my crafting and storage in the room at the bottom. The middle room is a three-high tower of alien containment, and on the left is my bedroom - which has indoor plants, and water processing on the second floor.
Power is provided via a string of transmitters that connect to a block of 6 thermal generators by a vent in the grand reef, ~600 meters distant.
I particularly like this location for my base - it's at the intersection of the grand reef, the steppes, and the kelp forest, and its a stones throw away from the shallows. Also, one of the windows in my crafting room looks straight into a cave mouth with some drooping stingers, which looks fantastic.

This screenshot is a little (okay, a lot) outdated, but I'll post it anyways.
Gonna try to build one down in the lost river, or perhaps in the inactive lava zone in the near future.
Also, did anyone know you can stand inside half constructed moonpools? :P
Here is my active lava zone base. It took a month of bringing matireals down to make this base. I just live here until the emperor update enjoy!
Holy flaming mochi roll, that base looks like it's melting from it's sheer proximity to the lava. It's quite amazing that you were able to do it without using any cheats.

If I could have my whole base half made that would be awesome!!!

Well here I thought I was starting to make my bases too big. Although I will say I try to keep mine within the realm of the possible-without-cheats (even if I use nocost).
Because spotlights apparently eat through power like a fat guy goes through thin mints, the entire back is a boatload of Nuclear Reactors and some Bio-Reactors.
The base is placed right at the tip of the rocky spires right before the Sea Trader's Path, about 300m in front of the Floating Island.
Here's my attempt to take a picture of the Scanner Room map to show the location.

Are the thermal plants on top of the rooms decorative? It doesn't seem like they'd be making any power there.

Also I see you named your seamoth yang... where is yin?

I love what you've done with the solar panels there.

I have a webcomic. It involves Tsundere Nereids, Canadians, magic, girls wielding crossbows, and possibly Scott Pilgrim. It updates every Wednesday at 4 pm EST. Check it out. (No, please, check it out.)
Also: Stop hating on the warpers. They have feelings too, ya'know.

I noticed your seamoths are named after Weiss and Yang from RWBY. Does that mean you have seamoths named Ruby and Blake somewhere?

Space Base
For anyone wonder why there is a seamoth in the first pic. Seamoth's can work in space despite the name having sea in it.
You probably also know me as Terranhawk, aka, the guy who has a Starcraft name but has never touched or seen a Starcraft game in his life/

I just want to know how the heck you put loose items on the desktops, when you can't drop items indoors (and they'd probably bounce like crazy even if you could, making placing them on desks difficult).

Okay in reality I just tricked the game by warping my self to current position so it would trick the game into thinking I was outside the base when I was really inside.
Steps I did:
i went inside the base. I typed warp in the console then I typed the camera world position. This let me drop the items since it thought I was outside the base.

Fascinating. Even then, I can't imagine how many tries that took to get them where you wanted them. Does that trick persist? As in, does it last until you pass through a hatch or moonpool, or does it wear off as soon as you move or do something?

It last forever until you interact with a hatch or leave the base with the moonpool. I am unsure if it turns off if you interact with a bulkhead.

Pretty awesome spot, from the Observatory you get an amazing view of the giant skull.
Didn't find out until it was nearly finished that the brine will damage the Seamoth... My momma didn't raise no quit though, so my repair tool just gets lots of work. lol
Symmetrical footprint of course, I'm not a barbarian.

My question is, how did you get so many plants in the ground in one place? Because that place is downright beautiful.
Not to mention the four Ghost trees in the background.
Yet I still have no idea what's going on.
