Tis a nice little base! Whatcha got going on inside there?

Nothing too fancy for now. My primary focus was exploration so i didn't really spend much time decorating the base, haha!

The entire Base is powered by a single Nucreal Reactor, might add a second one eventually.

Just as decorated as mine is on the inside! Looks great Cryo!

Nice Cyion. Its nice to see the pathing and walkways there, something I need to do more of with my designs tbh.

hi

this is my sanctuary :)

uh6Rwib.jpg
RqJQbQS.jpg

got the water machine, so no more drinking own pee & sweat :p
due to its power guzzling nature i had to install a nuclear reactor on the floor above.

kfF7V1x.jpg

breeding bone sharks, and introducing them into new areas...

2rD0mjR.jpg

top floor... :)

Y5ta7KP.jpg

this is Jeffrey:

sis1GPr.jpg

Jeffrey spends most of his time banging his head against the habitat, clearly having a hard time parting with his home and family. But he has to face growing up.

Normally i prefer to take a nap in this cozy chair:

eLEXpu8.jpg

it feels good to fall asleep to Jeffrey's mysterious, wonderful shrieks.

The most interesting part, is the trip between the surface and the base. The passages are a tight fit for the cyclops, and it was a bit tricky navigating without sonar, until i placed 2 waypoints.
ideally the base should be self sustained and i shouldn't need these trips, but one time i find out that 1 closet of titanium wasn't enough, the next time i see i left all my magnetite at surface... who knows what will happen next.

i was actually looking for a different area to build the base, but got side tracked (literally) and found a more suiting one ;]

also, since i bought the game only recently, at 1230m deep i expected the base to crush in seconds, but nope, there it is. :p

You can't. I was just being silly. I did do a 1 to 1 recreation though. The only thing I couldn't get right were the spotlights. They don't snap along the curvature of the hull like they should, so I settled instead for one on top of each location that there should have been two. So they didn't end up floating all weirdly off the side.

Thankies! I just finished expanding it a little further by adding the Scanner Room.

Might add an Observatory eventually.
Base Hull strength is at about 110 right now, not sure if i overdid it just a tiny little bit haha!

Thank you! Took me like 40 tries in creative to get everything right, starting with the foundation to get both the scanner room and moonpool facing the direction I wanted it to go, went through 3 different setup trying to minimize the environment deformity (especially since I read the terraformer was getting removed and trying to figure out how to get both the containment and power plant into the ground below), and just practicing so I can get it right the first time in survival with little impact to the environment.

@Fathom You placed the moonpool first? How did you get it to place that high?

From the look of the second pic likely placed the multipurpose room in the back on the cliff first and then the moon pool. Nicely done, I'm picky about my own bases looks and I like that one.

I placed the Multipurpose Room first as @Slackerstu said. The orientation of the first module you build defines the orientation of the Seabase and how a Moonpool (and Ladder) is placed. Try it out with a T Corridor. Understanding that helped a lot with setting up my Seabases just right.

Also you can first build Corridors and Vertical Connectors to where you want your Seabase at. Then you dismantle the 'scaffolding'. Can build floating bases like that.

Interesting. I've never tried to make a base that wasn't attached to the ground. I was aware of the orientation issue. Hoping in the future there is more ability to rotate the orientation of things.

So I had a camera bot facing the base at one point and on a new load, I just happened to look at it from the scanner room and saw just the base without the environment, it was kinda kool seeing it this way and I wanted to share it.

I built a base inside one of the big coral tubes in the shallows. I placed the Moonpool on one end.

The two are connected by an underground tunnel.

The connecting tunnel was just the first level. I drilled further down into the rock to create a cavern where I built the main portion of the base. The unfinished base.

I did add some fishies. It looks a lot better at night when everything is lit up and you can see them swimming around. Speaking of, why does an underground cave have day/night cycles. :*

Also, I'm making little mini-biomes out of different areas of the base. More shots of the base now that I have some of the garden areas filled in.

I don't recommend adding Reefbacks to enclosed areas. It doesn't end well for anyone. He kept headbutting my base and tore up some growbeds. I had to put him down.

As requested by @Nautical_Nick I want to show you guys my sea base too :)

First I want to explain my idea of the base : I am stranded on an alien planet, totally alone and have to survive. Of course I have to build a base to increase my survival chance but I also want to know with what lifeforms I have to deal with. So I build an underwater laboratory and gathered all the data of all lifeforms in the game.

My base:
1siqw7pdx4q4.jpg

044kjm7upb07.jpg

Entrance room (nothing special with basic survival stuff like the fabricator and battery charger):
n672j3w2w56x.jpg

If you go left you get to my bedroom :)
u4ver7enneg1.jpg

benr4r95fn51.jpg

Connected to my bedroom is my observatory in case I can't sleep and want to watch the scenery :)
a3w49aw3tcg9.jpg

If you climb up the ladder you get to my gardening area where I planted the plants you can find on the floater island
gbe7u50jo5q7.jpg

The core of my base is my 3 floor high aquarium. It is connected with everything else - the entrance hall, reactor room, scanner room, gardening area and data room. I used to have every lifeform that can be hatched with eggs in it but I did not like the idea of cageing aggressive and passive lifeforms together. So I filled the tank with beautiful and majestic jelly rays. <3
1st floor:

2nd floor:
1zw3b37vcbi0.jpg
3rd floor:

the first floor of my aquarium is connected with the reactor room and scanner room:
d39l78wwi6b5.jpg

j5uzmnb46tz0.jpg

As you can see the camera drone of my scanner room is currently placed near a reaper leviathan to observe it's behavior :)
re4bjn5ijc8i.jpg

Connected to my gardening area and aquarium is my data room where I gather all the data about the lifeforms in the game with pictures :)

z1x6hjxpvskq.jpg
csox30a3l67x.jpg

Last but not least my outside garden where I planted most of the underwater plants in the game for research purposes :)

24dbjyea65vm.jpg

That was my underwater laboratory I hope you enjoyed watching it because I REALLY enjoyed building it. <3
