Does this only occur with Fade and Skulk, or is it occurring with all alien life forms?
-
Can anybody post a screenshot or video of this problem that is occuring.

Navigate to Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Natural Selection 2, and delete your cache folder. The restart your game and see if that fixes it.
-
Try deleting the clientregistry.blob file and go from there.
-
While playing, in console type "p_logall". You can compress and upload it. Also, when the game freezes, leave it running, then navigate to Steam/steamapps/common/Natural Selection 2, and run the TechSupport tool.
-
Go into your local drive and navigate to Users\"your username"\AppData\Roaming\Natural Selection 2 and delete your cache folder. Then restart the game and let the shaders recompile.

I was thinking about that too, and I had tried that myself with profile running to see if I could reproduce it. This is leading me to believe it could be something mouse related, but I doubt it is. I want to make sure to rule this … -
I tried to reproduce it, but have have not been able to. Does this happen while in a server, in the main menu, or does it not matter? If more people come forward and say they can reproduce it, I will be more than happy to report the bug.

What kind of monitor are you using? Check to make sure that the latest drivers for it are up to date.

This looks like it might be a job for Max or Brian.
@clamps try playing without being subscribed to any mods and see what happens. -
Have you tried deleting the whole workshop folder completely?
Have you tried deleting the cache to let the shaders recompile? -
Couple things I am thinking about.
It looks to me as if you're using a custom background there in your main menu from the profile shots? If this is the case, I wonder if that could be causing the lag spikes still even if it's been happen… -
Have you tried using exit instead of quit?
-
Is this just in one server specifically you are having this issue?
-
Since you just got the game I'm guessing some file was corrupted or did not update/download correctly. Try verifying the integrity of the game cache files.
-
Check to make sure your video card drivers are up to date as well as Direct X.

Probably not the answer since I'm just randomly shooting off the top of my head till I think a little more, but have you tried adjusting the Field of View in options?
-
Has anyone tried restarting Steam after they delete their Workshop folder in AppData?
-
Would you be able to follow these steps from Ironhorse to provide us with some more info to look into this problem for you.

Two things that might have something to do with this.
Input language keyboard. For Windows I think some sort of comb like Shift+Ctrl will switch to another input language that the game may not recognize. You cannot change back to your de… -
@GORGEous This thread is in reference to crashing from alt-tabbing, so if it is please provide us with some more info to the problem at hand.

Usually the easiest thing to do is to blame Steam, but in this case it actually is their fault to what your problem is. If you have problems with consistency check even when you know you have the latest version, the best bet is to try to reconnect a…

Are the beeps occurring when you press any of the letter keys?
Does your mouse become jittery/unresponsive at the same time?

Sounds like a shader issue or something similar with rendering. Delete your cache folder located in Users > AppData > Roaming > Natural Selection 2. After that, restart the game and let the shaders re-download.
-
Sometimes going back to the main menu then coming back to the server list will get it to go.
-
Try deleting the file, then verify the game cache.
Is this only happening when join the ENSL server, or is it on all? -
How many times has this happened to you?
If multiple occurrences have happened, has it been the same location? -
