    I don't know what you are talking about the priest talent tree being bad; looks fantastic to me. The new shadow skill that gives you mana is totally hot. Stop being so pessimistic, when have they ever really "ruined" the game? People whine and complain but in the end things keep going on the same way.

    Oh damn I love the new shadow priest talents, now that I've tried them. Vamp touch /misery / shadow power rock.

    They went with the half-done druid talents (feral, at least). Made picking out my spec a little tricky, but I got it. No Naturalist, sadly. ): Ah well, come BC and 70 I'll be rocking my 1/46/14 again. (:

    Screw the burning crusade. There's no way in hell a rogue can outdps a mage in end content now. Blizzard is heartless.

    <--- 3 cheers for overpowered warlocks <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    seriously though, it's hard for everyone to choose which talents to sacrifice, and with each class getting about 30 or more new places to put talent points, everyone's gonna be disappointed with what they can't get.

    I decided to go full-on affliction lock. not even fast casting shadowbolt/immolate. I'm thinking drain life will be my main raid attack now, when I'm not dotting...

    will be interesting to see how naxx goes tonight <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />

    Not an hour before the servers went down for the patch work, we downed Patchwerk in Naxxramas. He's arguably the hardest of the first bosses in any of the wings of the instance. This brings our boss count to:

    Spider wing:

    * Anub'Rekhan
    * Grand Widow Faerlina
    * Maexxna

    Abomination wing:

    * Patchwerk

    Plague wing:

    * Noth the Plaguebringer

    Deathknight wing:

    * Instructor Razuvious

    I also got an item the other day called the <b>Veil</b> of <b>Eclipse</b>. My guild is named "Veiled Eclipse" and was named after KFS' maps. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    you guys should plow through grobbulus now, so easy compared to patch. still a ton of hp though.

    there's an 'exploit' for heigan you guys could do if you don't want to learn the dance phase <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    we have everything but gothik, the 4 horsemen, saph and KT down but we can't field a raid anymore <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> people go inactive + not wanting to recruit so close to expansion = non-full raids =/ we may wind up just being a pvp guild til mid january (provided they even stick to the release date)

    Man, I've heard some pretty nasty things about the 4 Horsemen...

    Anyways, the #1 thing I find so enthralling about WoW is the scenery, the monsters, and the lore behind the scenery and monsters. I only ever got to level 22 before I stopped playing because none of my other friends played it, there's no guild I wanted to join, and quite frankly I was SUPER low on money. Like, "2 Silver" poor. The hardest challenge wasn't the quests that involved huge amounts of backtracking, or killing X amount of Y monsters, but simply pulling together enough money to buy repairs and skills. It would have taken a large amount of Pure Grinding to regain financial stability. I quit playing. I can't handle grinding.

    anyone excited about the next expansion (whenever it comes out)? anyone quit the game who will be tempted back by it?

    I stopped playing soon after BC came out, and while the Hero class sounds cool, I'm guessing this will be even more of the same. I miss my warlock sometimes, but not enough to go back <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
  • ThansalThansal The New Scum Join Date: 2002-08-22 Member: 1215Members, Constellation
    It took them long enough to implement hero type classes (CoH has had them for a long time <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)

    I am kinda upset that it is only a high level character though.

    TBH, This one I will probably not be pickign up.

    It looks to be all high end stuff, and I much prefer lower level stuff (I would have powered a character to 80 just to be able to play a new class from the start, but not to just go through all the high level content again).

    also, the DK seems kinda odd. DPS and Tank in one. I expect to see higher raids being just about nothing except DKs and healers, unless they do some really good balancing (or just gimp DKs so they are crappy tanks and crappy DPS)

    WoW so far is structured that essentially only warriors can be tanks. any other "tanks" are situational and I'm sure this class won't be any different...

    makes you wonder though - if they implement multiple hero classes, I'm assuming they'll be more powerful than regular classes... and either everyone will play them, or they'll be so hard to acquire that only the 60 hours logged a week players will have them... so, it's either alienate the casual playerbase (which is the core playerbase), or invalidate the 'regular' classes and make them just stepping stones to the hero classes...

    in other words, we may see a SWG Jedi-like connundrum coming up eventually... I think Blizzard is smarter than SOE though, so hopefully they make wise choices, whatever they may be...

    I guess you regularly had paladins tanking the twin emps or shamen tanking patchwerk then?

    I'd use BC examples but I don't know BC that well. rogues tanking pre-nerf gruul? hunters tanking the ogre boss before him? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    With healing spells. Defensive spells. Imagine holy light and flash of light replaced with fireball and flame shock, or something to that extent, along with everything else the paladin has.

    Thansal - Warriors, Palas and Druids are all capable of competitive DPS and tanking given the correct gear and talents, i'd assume it'd be the same with Death Knights.

    The entire rune mechanic is pretty different to anything else in WoW as well. And they tank using 2Hers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    DiscoZombie - Pre-TBC you'd be correct, post-TBC your flat out wrong. True, warriors are still the best all round tank but Druids and to a lesser extent Palas are perfectly viable as well and outright better in places.

    And yeah, on Maulgar mages and hunters do tank <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> Its gimmick tanking I admit but its still there <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    Also hero classes aren't any more powerful then other classes - they just start at a higher level and are based off WCIII heroes (at least to start with).

    as much as I no longer like WoW, warlock is awesome, especially after the expansion. DoT up a bunch of mobs (or people), kite them, insta-aoe-fear them, watch the chaos and cackle.

    They did a nerf to a Bear's DPS. Bears used to be like MS Warriors with Prot tankmode survivability. It was pretty insane, and the decent tanks could still tank.

    I've had primarily Paladins tanking Gruul in the past, with Druids secondary and Warriors every once in awhile.

    Usually our MT was a Pally. etc. BC changed that quite a bit.

    The way it stands now, is Warriors have the best survivability, Druids and Pallies have the best threat gen, and Druids are easiest to heal(by FAR).

    Game was getting boring and then it just got BOOORING after BC. Played for a week and that's when I really stopped playing the game.

    Couple weeks ago I cancelled and deleted the game.
    I win.

    I know some of Blizzard employees, they visit my work once in a while and I told them about me quitting it. One of the guy's actually came up to me all worried why I quit, so I guess they do care about customer feedback.

    He did admit BC offered almost nothing at all. Did say another expansion was coming out soon, but I told him I don't feel like regrinding from 60 up to 80 and then regrinding honor all over again.

    I might play again later, but until then, i'm tired of it.
    I've seen <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pudgy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::gorge::" border="0" alt="pudgy.gif" />s spit out more interesting things....oh..wait...

    I hate people who say that, I hope you die! jk <3

    I guess you can say that NOW, but when the game first came out. Warlocks where soo sooo underpowered and I know because I've been one from the start. I took enough crap lvling up to 60, pvping, getting owned, then going through A MUCH NEEDED BUFF and then the playing field leveled up. People are just mad because we aren't the easy kills like we used to be 2+ years ago.

    affliction warlock is pretty easy in pvp - just stay at max range, never stand still, tab target, insta dot a lot of people, kite them, and insta fear them if they actually manage to close in on you. if they resist or are immune to fear, whip out the death coil. of course I'm assuming level 60+. and if your style is standing still spamming shadowbolts you're better off with a mage.

    that felt like watered-down mage to me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> only class I ever played seriously was warlock, and I played it for the dots and the pets, not shadowbolt spamming (or incinerate spamming). that said, I did have an OK time as a conflag lock for a while... pre-BC I was often topping damage meters in raids with that spec... not very mana efficient though.

    It depends on the PvP for 'most difficult class'.

    Warlocks dominate BGs, as do Rogues. Both flounder in Arenas(well, according to the top teams. Of all the 2000+ rating teams, only something like 8 or 9 had Rogues).

    Shaman do terribly everywhere they go, these days. In BGs they get targeted like Warriors and go down much faster, in Arenas they die super fast because of no defense against focus fire and with them up, Windfury and Earthshock can cause real problems, and in PvE, they're only good as Enhancement DPS. Their healing ability is lackluster at best, and bringing an Elemental Shaman is more for buffing the Mages and Boomkins than it is for actually doing damage.
