    I think I'm going to stick with what I have now, the scope isn't used and it would just be a waste of polys, sorry but I can't please everyone.

    Yes, if I can get a player modeler (I'm better with guns than I am with humans, I can't makes joints that work right). The player modeler would also make high(er) poly Marines and Heavy Armor guys (I personnaly think the HA looks like a knight, and there would probably be some changes with that model's structure - but not a whole lot, it would be up to the player modeler).

    One more thing I'll iform you about, I dont plan on changing anything with the Grenade Launcher (nothing really noticeable anyways) because it is already really cool looking, I would just be making it higher poly count. As for the shotguna nd the HMG, they probably wont look a whole lot like the originals because to be honest, I don't like the originals for those guns (shotgun looks too wimpy and I don't see how it can physically angle down like it does when cocked and the HMG looks "cheaply built" (like it would fall apart easilly - the way it reloads would be the most change)). I asked my friend to make some concept art for the HMG and shotgun, so I'll try to use his ideas.

    I like your concept for the shotgun, but, mabye for the reload, as suggested in a previous shotgun model topic, mabye have the guy shove the shells into the drum mag, and have it spin, like the current GL does with gl rounds, only it doesnt have to pop out, and has the x number of shells left, like the current gl. I dont know how hard that is, but i'd look really sweet.

    Also, for a sweet hmg, mabye some sort of minigun? although that sounds lame, its got rotating barrles of doom, and it would definatly shoot out the lead. Also, a kickass hmg could be some sort of gauntlent mounted weapon, if anybody here has ever seen gundam 0080 war in the pocket, you know what i mean. its got the barrles pop up out of the wrist guard, and like a belt of ammo, and for the reload, it switches to the other gauntlent whall it cycles a new belt into the other gauntlent. I dont know if that sounds cool to anybody else, but i like multi-barrled weapons. that spin. fast.

    Your stuff looks really awsome, and dont be afraid of higher polycounts, most people have at least a gf2, which can handle like 2k polies , or much higher. nobody has the "latest" in voodoo technology except my friend <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    hrm try to fit them all together.
    ie. if the lmg and pistol are using caseless ammo, you dont really want to see the hmg dropping shells everywhere do you?
    (i hope i know what im talking about)

    anyway this is looking to be absolutely brilliant, i cant wait to see some of the concept art for hmg.
    Stick with the spas12 feel, the spas 12 is DEFINITELY an 'outer-worldly' weapon...mmm the curves...

    Shotgun. As proven with the Quake 2 shotty, it looks really cool if you make an automatic shotgun. Reload could be acomplished somewhat like the TFC grenade launcher. (guy takes clip out, hides it as its loading shells, and then puts it back in when finished)

    A minigun or something would be a sweet HMG. I always liked shoulder mounted machine guns (like the quad AA guns on ww2 battleships like in the movie pearl harbour )

    Okay everyone, Jackhammers, Spas-12 with drum mag, or any clip loaded shotguns are very hard to make for hand loaded shotguns in any game. They are near impossible to keep from getting errors in the animations, not only that, but clip loaded shotguns are fugly. Stick to how the game has the shotgun, hand loaded, and the animations will be simple and look clean and natural. If it's clip loaded then the animations are going to look unnatural, edgy, and overall really crappy. Now if the shotgun was a clip loaded shotgun to begin with, then we would have no problem, but it isn't, and so it would take alot more time and effort on Spydr-modeler's part.     I don't like the idea that people seem to think that the hmg should be close to or a mini gun, tbh we need something different, a light marine wouldn't be able to use the damn thing anyway the recoil is so heavy that he'd be laying on his back most of the time. We need something different, something away from mini guns.

    Well for the HMG it needs to be a clip loaded machine gun. It needs to be beefy, but not too beefy. I'm thinking it should look sort of like the M60E3, it should have something like a front foregrip. But then we would be looking at custom player animations again. I don't know, I never really liked the original HMG, it was too bland. I like the smartgun model alot, but it's hard to find good player models with the smartgun animations. Same goes for player models that have both the custom animations for the welder and the smartgun, I just can't find them anymore.

    Well What I do when I change my models is replace ONLY the V_models so I don't have to worry if the P and W models work. But if we make a pack with a playermodeler then we could make them work with eachother.

    I thought the whole point of the hmg was that it had that rotation between two barrels so you get no kickback, so light armor marines can use it without spraying bullets everywhere. I say just keep a similar design and make it look nice, period. Stop asking for impossible things people, unless you want clipping everywhere on the animations and a VERY frustrated modeler/animator.

    Well in the mean time while we wait for the <u><i><b>Meshers</b></i></u> and <u><i><b>Player Modelers</b></i></u> to look at this topic and respond, anyone who wants to could post an image of what they want the HMG and Shotgun to look like (concept). So get your imagination up and running and get me some good shotgun/HMG ideas (relativly related to the original, for example, the LMG I made has a magazine that sticks out of the side).

    I like the minigun idea but I don't know exactly how that would look (except for the rotating barrels).

    It's a rotary Cannon, but it only has two barrels to reduce recoil. Box Magazine with 150 rounds, and a foregrip. (I could easily change it to the Horizontal grip)

    I don't think it sucks, I think it is great, but there seems to be a lack of design (most of the gun is a big block) and I think it should have more than 2 barrels, at least 3.

    UYes; but how would one draw three barrels from a side prespective? And most of it is just a big block... I was trying to design an affordable, reliable peice of... gun. The more... wierd fancy things it has, the more it could go wrong with it. But good point. I may make it more interesting to look at. But remember, ti is just a concept after all.
