    Meh, you could just hack off the right side, that's even what they did with the standard issue model, as long as these would use regular animations.

    Looks like some good work here. I reckon you should remove the scope, but dont put the sight on the end, maybe integrate it into the carry handle like you see on the M4/M16....

    The barrels are 16 sided (not 32), and with the pistol the barrel would be seen when the slide is brought back, however I do plan on making them 8 sided cylinders, but I think everyone can agree that they make the gun look much better when it is not skinned (by the time it is skinned it will be the standard 8 sided, as well as many other uneeded details removed). <b>Which reminds me, I need a skinner now, therougeknight has offered to help with animations and making building models. It would be nice to have a player modeler in on this too so we can make new player models and possibly new hand models.</b>

    This is my target poly count for the Knife: 800
    This is my target poly count for the Pistol: 1000
    This is my target poly count for the Shotgun: 1000
    This is my target poly count for the LMG: 1500
    This is my target poly count for the HMG: 1500
    This is my target poly count for the Grenade Launcher: 1500

    Remember this is without backfaces deleted (once animated they will be deleted as to not detract from the animations). There will be two sets of animations. Each gun will be animated using the original animations, and each gun will be animated with a new set of animations (so people will have their choice, the animations add alot to the gun, and can detract, depending on people's opinions). The buildings would be animated using the originals (I see no point in changing them - there aren't really any animations anyways).

    Right now I am making changes to the LMG and pistol (I plan on having at least 3 different variations of each and then everyone vote on the ones they like best), and will soon begin the shotgun.

    I kind of liked the first pistol that you showed us better. But why must the slider be all square-ish like the glock?     but i would prefer to see high poly versions of the weapons as they are meant to look without any modifications.

    I was planning on making one version of the pistol with a curved slide.

    The main reason I do not want to make high poly versions <b>without</b> modifications is that it could be considered copying (because it would be almost the same). Another reason is that I want to use my own imagination a little, and make the models my own instead of someone else's.

    Skinner = Spawn
    Mesher = ?
    Player Modeler = ?

    I need someone who can mesh and someone who can make player models

    I also have made 4 different kinds of LMG's for you guys to choose from, I can't make a poll so I guess just tell me your vote...

    Upper left model is: 2600 polys
    Lower left model is: 1729 polys
    Upper right model is: 1635 polys (NOTE: I can add the scope/red dot sight to it)
    Lower right model is: 1729 polys (NOTE: The only difference between this and the lower left is the placement and size of the red dot sight)

    Personally, I like the Lower right model because of the nifty Iron-sight mounted on the barrel. Pretty clever making it look like the crosshair in the game!

    But what I kind-of dislike about my choice is the M16-like handle. I fancy the Square-ish one that the scope is mounted on. (Minus the Scope, of course). <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Unfortunately, if you mount a gun much higher than it currently is, it covers the HUD sprites afaik.

    but most servers no let you use them

    The upcoming 2.01 patch fixes this problem.

    These models are really nice. I especially like the idea of incorporating the crosshair sprite into the sight.

    The magazine for the LMG needs to be slightly curved. And the iron sites have to line up perfectly.
    Other than that, love the LMG concepts.

    Not really a fan of the Glock, but you have a nice model. I particularly hate the idea of having the clip towards the front, but that's just me.

    Can't wait to see them skinned. I just hope much detail and high res go into the skins.

    Actually the sights do line up perfectly, and I purposely made the magazine straight (I didn't like the curved one) but I could make a version of it with a curved mag and show you guys. What if I put the red dot scope (the one on the lower left) on the upper right gun (basically making the hand guard closer to the original model)? I think i'd like that combination best.

    Sorry but I don't know what that means... you are saying that your server doesnt let people use skins, and then you say 'but' and go on to say that most servers dont let you use them... so why have the 'but'?

    On another note, I am planning on redoing the models (I wont get my target of 1500 polys if I don't) but don't worry I'll make sure they stay the same quality. When I finish it I will show you guys pictures of what it could look like in game.

    Damn... These are friggin awsome!

    As for the models.. Hmm, difficult.
    Ah, heck, lets give it a go.

    I choose the........ upper right with a red dot like the lower right and a carrying handle like the upper left. (Confusing?)

    And, yeah, the magazines look better if they're slightly curved.

    Last, for the love of hi-poly modeling; <u><b>Finish and release these!!</b></u>

    [edit] Oops. Forgot to add that, IMO, the pistol should have the magazine in the handle, not in front.

    I also like the bottom right one. I love the sight in the front. And if you angled the gun right, you wouldn't need actual crosshairs!

    they are all VERY hawt.
    if I had to choose one, i'd choose bottom right though, oh so yummy.
    do you have a skinner/animator ready to skinmesh these and then skin them?
