well, that was underwhelming.

how soon until the f2p patch? looks like it's being built up to slowly edit: i don't mean this in a bad way, I think f2p would be great for the game. it's already been said UWE will stop supporting the game when it stops producing money (which is completely reasonable), f2p brings more in as I think they've hit their limit on game sales with the numerous bundle sales.

As part of the Player Names on Minimap mod which was integrated into this patch, there is also this feature/fix:
- unbuilt structures flash dark red when attacked.

There are few words that describe how relieved I am for this patch to finally be out after over 2 months of development and tons of work on that customization menu, and to be done with it finally.
Also awesome job by to Rantology for making the badass skins and of course Loki.

Might want to credit modders properly for the contributed fixes/features/updates:

Fixes:
Fixed massive lag caused when using webadmin on a server (Thanks bawNg!)
Fixed Alien structures not pulsing red when taking damage from being uncysted (Thanks Mendasp!)
Fixed Skulk growl sound always playing when holding the walk key (Thanks Mendasp!)

Features:
Added player names to minimap. Added GUI option, and console command minimapnames to toggle the names (Thanks remi.D!)
Added mod download percentage to loading screen (Thanks Dragon!)
Parasited Marine name tags and minimap blips now appear yellow (Thanks Mendasp!) <-- also the minimap blips don't appear yellow, the minimap names appear yellow.
Added support for non-clingable geometry to stop Skulks/Lerks/Mines/Clogs clinging to invisible geometry. Use surface = “nocling” in material file (Thanks matso!)

Also missed this item:

Updated Veil/Summit... thanks Mendasp! Maybe this last one isn't necessary as I'm in the credits already, but since it's all about community contributions...

Edit: Just noticed it says I only update Summit in the credits when I also update Veil. Might want to fix that too. It says so twice, btw, one at the top, one near the bottom.

Besides Kodiak being made an official map (good job Loki btw), I cant help but feel disappointed at the lack of content in this update. But on the other hand I guess it's setting down the foundations for future updates.

Nice update, congrats to Loki! Been a fan of Kodiak for a while now, if only for variety's sake. I'm interested in seeing where the weapon skins go-- they definitely are a harmless way to get a little extra money to UWE and modders, for those who are interested.

Great stuff, great trailer, new official map yay! I had some great matches when kodiak was beta still, I always wanted to play it more often, but it got skipped all the time because it was not official.

awsome.... with exo camo it kinda makes me wish special edition peeps got a black one and that reinforcement got a digital camo option as well, only thing I kinda wish we would mix and match camo on other armor looks, digging the gold visors but wish I could of got that on my elite assualt :P

gahhhhh NS2 should just go F2P and sell hats would get alot more money off me that way
