Can we get a new visual indicator of structure health? Either the classic circle around the base, or the percentage number. The tiny bar at the top is pretty frustrating, usually have to search around for it.
Sorta split on the health indicators at the moment, I like some things about the current system in that it shows some basic information about the structure (name/basic role). Im thinking that I may split that and change the structure name/role to switch on the autohelp setting, and move the health/armor to a circle health bar like NS1.

Good thing you found NS2:Classic then. It's pretty awesome so far.
I can't wait to try this. I gave up on NS2 during the patch that released the toy gun sounds and the number attacks. I'm not playing vanilla until release hoping they get something right.
Gonna find a server that has NS2c. Thanks Dragonzzz
NS2c Patch 2 has been updated to workshop which is compatible with 223. Since servers now support automatic downloading also its quite easy to host a server now.
add -mods 5f7771c to your server command line variables, and make sure that "mods": [ "5f7771c" ] is set in your mapcycle.json
For any servers admins that do wish to host, please let me know so I can add your server to the list.
For patchnotes/details you can check <a href="http://ns2cmod.com/blog/" target="_blank">http://ns2cmod.com/blog/</a>
You will need to uncheck the Filter Modded box in the Server browser to see the servers.
Hope to see more people playing now, and hope to have some games with everyone!

NS2:Classic servers tend to be empty right now. It doesn't help that UWE filters out MODS in their server browser by default now too.
If you haven't already, join the steam group for NS2: Classic because every once and a while they send out event notices of when they are trying to populate a server.
<!--coloro:#aadd00--><span style="color:#aadd00"><!--/coloro-->Either way I wanted to check it out. I'm also part of that group already. Yeah that was a odd thing they did; two steps to unblock mods. I recommend anyone who hasn't yet, grab the menu mod from the workshop. It doesn't work once you join a server right now, but the server browser and menu in general I'd still say is better in a lot of ways, one being it doesn't block mods by default on every start up. <!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->
Just finished a play session a little while ago. Got to experience many of the things I loved in NS1 like gorge rushes (tho we failed hard lol), shotgun rush (commander told us the wrong hive so we failed hard), sieges taking down hives while we assaulted. Definitely has given me that nostalgic feeling again where I want to play just one more game! More people need to try this, and if you know some NS 1 players or clans, make sure they know about it.

Can the game tag be changed so servers can be found easier? Sorting by game or typing combat into the game field works great for example, but the ns2c servers appear under the default game tag.

yeah, this mod has really breathed new life into NS2 for me.
<!--coloro:#aadd00--><span style="color:#aadd00"><!--/coloro-->Small issue I have with the server we most commonly gather on right now, nothing big, but I do recommend support of the nostalgia texture mod. It adds a nice little bit of extra love to the already nostalgic feel, even if the fade texture feels off, granted the fade in general looks pretty different.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->
The server shouldn't stop you from using that mod, and it seems easier to just allow people to use kouji's mod if they choose rather than force it on them.
<!--coloro:#aadd00--><span style="color:#aadd00"><!--/coloro-->It isn't working on it so far actually, I've tried and it's just using the standard textures. I don't want it forced mind you, I just want it whitelisted, as it seems to not be or something.. I don't run an NS2 server though so I'm really not sure if that's necessary, the whole system seems a bit awkward though from what I've seen.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->
Weird, the few models ns2c does override wouldn't be any of the ones done in kouji's mod, and the consistency check settings for the servers don't check for that stuff anyways.

Hypermutation could have some utility in classic IMO, as there are times when youd want to swap around if your team needs a lerk badly or gorge to drop some upgrades then re-fade... but i still think the utility would be too limited to be viable above some of the others.
I'd just add that I think that the more separation between NS2C and NS2 the better. Being able to play both and enjoy them as 2 completely different experiences (as they are) is a good thing.

Well the way i understand it is there is res for killing. Plus once you get hives you get the abilities right away. So hypermutation would allow for some extreme versatility.
