I wouldn't count on a lot more maps. In the commentary they were talking about keeping the map list low to focus the efforts. They also said it was because not many maps are played when you have a bunch. My example of this dust dust2 aztec 2fort well dustbowl So I see what they are saying even if I don't agree.

It's all circumstance, really. That 6x domination round I showed earlier would never have gotten there if the enemy had either of A) two decent spies, or B) medics that stayed back until they got ubercharge ready to go.

If there's just one sentry gun or ally not immediately adjacent to your sentry, the spy can do nothing but sap your sentry, else he'll die the moment he drops out of the disguise. I think it's about right that a spy can kill a lone engineer and his sentry. Of course, if you have some sort of turret farm, and he gets both of you, shame on you. One can repair the sentries while the other shoots the spy; the sapper doesnt work THAT fast.

I abuse the sapper intensely. Put one on the sentry and spam the button. If he removes it, another one is on it instantly causing more damage. If he goes for the spy kill, I whip up some shooting from the hip.

I had my turret and dispenser setup on the enemy side of the middle traindepot (with the trains driving trough it) next to one of those red trainwagons. the last engineer of the enemy team also had his base (turret+dispenser) setup on the other side of the trainwagon <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
He had a medic, which died by me crafty pistol+turret and then we had a final showdown engineer+ turret vs engineer+turret vs patience XD
I did annoy him enough while shooting his foot underneath the train though. It was funny as hell to see this trainwagon being the only thing seperating us from certain turret death. In the end I won with 2 hp left <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
The pyro was quite annoying to use before, but I did manage to kill people on 2fort with it in the closequarter combat quite often. Haven't played TF2 with the buffed pyro yet, but he was and will always be my fav (it felt so good to kill someone as a pyro out in the open and see them go pyro to try and kill you with the flamer (shotgun FTW vs other pyro, but not everyone realises that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> )
Pyro's actually good now. A really shabby technique is to stick a dispenser next to a CP in a small room (e.g. dustbowl) and have the Pyro stand in front of the dispenser <i>so he never runs out of ammo</i>. The whack your sentry up somewhere it can't be shot from outside the room and you have permanant anti-spy protection that only a good demoman or soldier can break.
