Most recent complaint: We were told to expect balance changes in a patch within a week, a 50MB+ patch was released and a few things have been identified as 'different' yet FLG has yet to even release a changelog of any kind a week out. Frustrating.

That has been a curious point. From my discussions with FLG staff(and I had numerous ones when my review was blowing up) there were steam technical limitations to providing discounts to NS2 owners since they were a different develo… -

I never purchased this game, and I wouldn't have. I was given a copy. I do enjoy NS2 Combat, I enjoyed it as a mod. It was great to get in and warm up a bit, or as a break from real NS2. Even if the game was free and obtainable at … -

I keep reading this weird dismissal of valid criticism. There's a reason those reviews are popular, and to claim they're not complaints about the game is akin to sticking your head in the sand. Yes, if you choose to ignore all the … -
I like to point out the poster thread as to relate UWE's capability. Reading through that thing makes it sound like a complete scam. So far, not one p…

While this is true, ultimate responsibility for a product still falls upon the developer. They're the ones taking the bad press for this, not UWE.

heh.. NS2 on a potato, now I've seen it. 640x480 Takin' me back to 1995

Note I never mentioned anything about price. Games nor mods get developed for a specific price point, they are sold at a value which is perceived to provide the most return.
Especially In a multiplayer-only game, the pr… -
Come on, use just a little logic here.
NS2:C Hardly just borrows models and assets. Engine, mechanics, gameplay elements, abilities, lore.. by definition(and codebase) it is a fork of an existing product.

Except that it is still at heart a mod which is 'much more fleshed out' than the predecessor. When 85% of the content in your standalone game is from another developer, you've created a mod- regardless of the format you rele… -
You know, as someone who doesn't really play NS2 any more I started keeping tabs on NS2 Combat and looked forward to a more polished version of the mod I had played some in the past. This would have been a terrific opportunity to encourage those wh…

That already exists, the numbers only show when damage is server side registered.

What is really just needed is a grenade spam counter. There's currently no counter to it.

Santa, now I hope you're planning on adding this information to the wiki

or you know.. implement some sort of sane logrotate

Why not create a mod to count them and even determine fire rate for you?

Why? Playing on a modded server like Combat is as easy as joining it already. By supporting the mod it would just increase the number of things UWE has to support while effectively adding nothing to the mods. The mod creators alrea… -
Honestly, I will miss cosmic gardening.

I am sad. Goodbye, remaining pub community.

Not sure increasing complexity / learning curve further is a good bet when the game population is dwindling.

Has there been any consideration in adding a console command to pre-render everything on first load? It's obviously worse after a patch with the shader rendering, but each game launch I wish I could just hit a button that says "pre-load everything n…

It isn't even extended any more- now it is default to 'extended' it would seem?

Does this mean alien vision mods are out by default now? I don't know that I'll ever be able to stand the stock alien vision any more in Build 246 has been released on Steam! - Natural Selection 2 Comment by gimmic April 2013

yes, but that's all sever side. Specifically I was looking client side only.
If I remember correctly, the client connect/disconnect there is *your* client connecting or disconnecting as a status. Not other players. -
I'm seeing conflicting information. Some posts (like the HUD mod) clearly show some lua tweaking and it seems to be available on in pub play, while things like this won't pass consistency check?
How can you tell what will work or what wo… -

Because showing a little more gore in a game where you already kill eachother is totally taboo. /eyeroll
Add it as polish and make it a customization preference.

That is true. Wishful thinking I guess. It would also be nice to see who the whip is 'looking at'
-
Kallistrate: an idea related to whips actually.. now that they're no longer AoE and can only target one thing at a time.. they should be more like a scorpion tail and 'jab' rather than whip, in my opinion. Put a spike on the end and make them strike…

I have noticed with the most recent patch Jet packers are a hell of a lot harder to attack as a skulk. Even with leap and carapace, they can simply outrun me.

Drifters are highly underrated! Too many khammanders don't utilize them.
They are great early game to help keep eyes on choke points and watch the marines moving around. With foresight removed, they are even more important. Mid to late g…
