Because Gwahir doesn't like random votes, I shall random vote Gwahir.

Ask Sky said, it doesn't hurt anything. At this stage, almost no one actually has any good reason to vote for someone...

The only real good thing about random votes/ votes for yourself is it keeps you safe from phantom votes.

Currently im randomvoting for mouse because he posts above me

And could someone please tell me the irc channel + password for the current game`?
• im_lostim_lost TWG Rule Guru Join Date: 2003-04-26 Member: 15861Members
The channel is #ns-twg. There is no password. Anyone can join, people playing will be given voice.
• GwahirGwahir Join Date: 2002-04-24 Member: 513Members, Constellation
well, like I said I have nothing substantial and I know that pretty much all first day votes are going to be random. I'm just stating my opinion, not that it actually has any value on the first day.

Also, in true TWG tradition, I'll counter vote the guy voting against me.

stukov

All those "random" votes at the beginning of the day make it easy for the wolves to hide, though. If you don't know who to vote for, why not wait for a while and see what develops? It's not as if the days are so short that you might easily miss the deadline.
• PlanetkillerPlanetkiller Join Date: 2003-06-05 Member: 17028Members
But it's worth doing in case something unexpected comes up and you aren't able to post again before the deadline.

One thing that i would love to avoid, if at all possible, is the same voting pattern as TWG V. As sky said, putting pressure on one single person gives the wolves a nice shield to hide behind, but at least we can see that shield and analyse it. 'Random' votes do as much good to the humans as they do damage, but spreading our votes out too thin would be a mistake. Having votes spread out that thin would just cause confusion (One or two votes could swing the day around completely, loads of different people and votes to analyse, etc), and we will need to avoid that if we are to win the game.

And when nothing develops, everyone throws on a vote during the last hour of the day, chaos ensues, and there is no chance to discuss any of the votes.

Things sure are quiet from those days of 12 pages of day 1 posts. Lack of communication only helps the wolves people.

I'm not convinced CMEast is a wolf, although his sudden outburst of defense does make him look suspicious after his quiet game last time. im lost, he just doesn't strike me as being wolfish yet.

Right now I'm just going to place a vote for someone already with a vote to add to the competition and help give the other two a fighting chance. As I don't have any real suspicions it will be random between everyone with 1 vote. Hellfire3k

CMEast - 3 (Fatal Error, lolfighter, BadKarma)
Theslan - 1 (im lost)
im lost - 2 (Theslan, Nil IQ)
Fatal Error - 1 (CMEast)
Sky - 1 (Planetkiller)
Hellfire3k - 1 (Sky)
Nurot - 1 (Nurot)
Gwahir - 1 (Stukov)
Mouse - 1 (Pithlit)

Heh, well I'm not sure you could call me quiet, if you look back I was always a pretty active poster even with all the constraints on my time.

Also, I may seem defensive but it's how I always sound when I'm being attacked, I don't mind accusations but I do dislike being falsely accused and Fatal Error has painted the picture far worse than it really was (or so it seems to me anyway).

Hmm, so in other words I have a mini bandwagon against me for defending myself and yet the actual... 'crime' I've been charged with (that of trying to get some malicious 'early' vote in) doesn't even make sense? Of course the more I mention that the more defensive I seem and the more people jump on me I guess I deserve one or two for stupidly posting without realising the game hadn't begun though because if I felt the need to apply pressure to someone thats the stupid kind of excuse I'd use

Still if you look back I wasn't quiet last game, it's just that somehow most of the drama passed me by. Check how often I posted, see how my suspicions of Comprox got him voted off (with some help from wolves, doh! Sorry comp ).

Also true, but what is there to discuss when all the votes are "random?"

I'll place a vote for Stukov now. I don't really suspect him more than anyone else, but I don't want to risk a phantom if I get caught up in work tomorrow.

If the guardian did save someone, then chances are he covered two people who have the most experience, so I picked someone who hasn't, and doesn't have any votes. I'm voting in the hopes of avoiding lynching the guy who was saved, rather than deciding that someone's a wolf so early on.

Ugh, I'm having a hard time choosing a vote target...

I think I'll go with Nil IQ, because, as far as I can tell (and as Freak83 pointed out), im lost has a record of random voting...

And your point that "there is no such thing as a random vote", im lost was not the only person to random vote, Planetkiller also did, and I recall im lost saying something about being able to post quickly before work(?). I'm not on my main computer right now, so I can't access my IRC logs, but I'm fairly sure that something like that was said.

Also, you have no votes, so you're a pretty safe for now. I'll move my vote off if that changes, though.

That is quite simply the most wide spread voting pattern I have ever seen.

When quoting people making a vote, you should edit out the bold tags, like so:

QUOTE (BadKarma @ Jul 4 2005, 05:14 PM)

It's too much actually. CMEast.

Just to avoid any possible confusion over your vote.
