For me, the absolute best sniper rifle is the scoped Springfield/K-98/enfield in DoD, which i hope they keep the same in Source. shots do indeed go where you aim, for some reason this is the only game that i can snipe good at; in CS i can't snipe worth beans, no clue why.

I played the demo in singleplayer, not a big fan of 3 sniper head shots to get a kill (although it does seem to do it in 1 if you hit the face, kevlar helmets are not intended to stop large caliber rounds, they prevent shrapnel wounds ). Aside from the fact the keyboard mapping likes to be a PITA with the whole "THAT KEY IS ALREADY MAPPED, MORON!" thing, instead of just chaning the key to the one I'm assigning it to. I can understand why it doesn't work in 1 shot kills, but they could just make it mor wobbly (but that the bullet goes where the rifle is aimed at that instant).
Plus, mine doesn't want to connect to Gamespy for some reason (but Gamespy sucks, so that might be one problem).
I'd have to guess that online servers let you play a better map than singleplayer, as there's no boats in my demo (and I thought it came out on the 22nd, although I'm not sure where I got that date from).

the map you play in single player is the 16 person version map of the one you play in multiplayer. apparently there are to be 3 sizes of the same map in the full game. im guessing 16, 32, and 64.

Anbu decides it'd be fun to have him and his whole squad take a boat out to my carrier. It wasn't a smart move. :P

and VOIP is only for when you are in a squad. works like a charm.
I got a chance to play this yesterday and I love it. The M16A2 on semi-auto with the medic = <3. I was able to play with a good squad with voice comm and good teamwork, and as a medic, it was awesome. Being able to revive / heal other players while being completely effective against other ground troops was incredible. (I'm a pretty good shooter, not in NS, but given a reliable weapon like the M16A2, I was able to get a majority of the kills in my squad, while also being able to keep everyone alive).
Needless to say, I fell in love with BF2 and the Medic class. In particular, I love when a group of our guys go down, and I am able to single handedly take down 2 or 3 enemies in a few seconds, then revive my fallen squad members to full force. Sprinting across streets while bullets fly by and explosions rock the buildings to save fallen soldiers engrosses you so much into the medic class.
It's really tricky, and it took me a few hours to figure out what was switching it. Plus it doesn't say anywhere in the controls. To change the fire rate, just press the weapon slot again. So for the M16A2, press 3 again, and it will change from 3 round burst to semi-auto, press 3 again, and it will switch back. All you have to do, is select that particular weapon slot again.

You're the guy who keeps the attack moving.
edit: I've gone through the controls, but where is the fire type key? (single, burst, full)?
