You're also making the false assumption that I won't change my vote if anything does come to light.
All I do by making an early vote is to make sure I don't get phantom'd if real life butts in somehow. All I do by making a random vote on the first day is to stir up the waters, which would be completely counter productive for a wolf. No-one making a move is beneficial to the wolves.
All valid points, except the fact that I don't believe Snidely. That vote made you look supicous...
I guess so did mine, Thats fine. I have done what I wished by making you all think instead of just making random still we get the tiniest of evidence then we would all go bandwagon... My vote was not random because I pointed out my suspicions of snidely, How is that random??
On that topic, why are you voting for Snidely? I made the first random vote, shouldn't you be voting for me? Also, last game Mouse started off the voting almost every day with a random vote, and he was a human. My vote is changing to <b>wonedslackystyle</b>.
I was thinking the same thing. Why pick on snidely rather than im lost? I said earlier that i would save my vote, and so i have. I now vote for <b>wonedslackystyle</b>. This vote is definitely subject to change, as i really think that it would be a bad idea to instalynch anybody this early on.
The difference between your vote and mine is that I don't even pretend to have a case. I'm just doing what I'll end up doing anyway. Not only that, but I've done it pretty publicly; and at the beginning of the game where no-one has a clue, doesn't that make me an obvious target (and so a dumb move for a wolf at this stage)?
I may be alone, here, but building a thin case against someone near the start is exactly what Freak did last game - as a wolf. Zerobyte started a vote for Chrono, since Chrono seemed to be absent without obvious cause (turns out he did have a reason). Freak went on the offensive, using a weak case.
I'm not confident enough that slacky is a wolf to leave him with 5 votes. So, my vote is changing back to <b>TheMuffinMan</b>. This vote is completely random, I just want to change it away from slacky (for now at least), and it will change if there is any reason to change it.
The idea behind voting slacky was to have prime quality bait. This obviously won't work now that we have 4 votes, half of which admit to willingness to change upfront - so I'll just come out and admit mine will move off slacky whenever a good reason comes along, or Night 2 draws near.
Calm down mate, noone seriously thinks you're a wolf anymore after that discussion on IRC.
I haven't seen the IRC conversation. In fact, due to the fact that I got a message from the AIM service saying I am logged in at 3 locations (when it should only be 2), my apartment computer probably disconnected and reconnected, meaning that I'm not even logging the conversation. What happened in IRC?
I can toss you the log if you like. He just didn't display any of the necessary traits for an active wolf in the first place - so unless they're banking on our disbelief at their stupidity, he's not a real suspect.

I thought it was obvious that my first vote was random. I'll make sure to include the word "random" in the future. While randomly voting for people could be bad, my vote for the first day will likely be random, one way or another, so whether I vote early on in the day or wait until later, it isn't likely to matter. Also, making random votes gets people to start talking. Having everyone sit around and say, "Let's wait until there is some real evidence before we vote," means that nothing meaningful happens. Considering that I'm very active and am obviously willing to change my vote, I don't see how it is a problem.
If anyone cares, I started off the voting in TWG I with a random vote (the first vote on the first day). I will probably do this in every TWG, unless someone else is there to beat me to it (like Mouse) or something is discussed during the first night so that I have a really good reason not to.
Okay. Two points after skimming that log (my mIRC must be acting up, I thought I was on the channel since 8 GMT):
If you wanted to speak out against random votes, why not do it at the beginning, instead of "making an example" of me?
The only reason I posted the vote now was because I wanted to get it out of the way. I did this the last game, too. I'm not sure why you find it so hard to believe, 'slacky.
All you've done is kick up a smokescreen for the wolves to hide behind.

<slackykingofgorges> understand.
<brute_force> I remember someone did that in TWG1, and they got killed
<slackykingofgorges> Pulse to me?
<brute_force> for being "suspicious"
<brute_force> lol
<Pulse> yes
<slackykingofgorges> catylst
<slackykingofgorges> Well.....
<slackykingofgorges> Saltz why did you vote for me?\
<brute_force> I wish I had a special role
<slackykingofgorges> You said you had evidence lets hear it?
<slackykingofgorges> "waiting"
<SaltzBad> The suspiciously loud fingerpointing at the randomvoters, and trying to bait out the gaurdian in your first post, no less, maybe?
<slackykingofgorges> Bait out guardian no no no.
<TheMuffinMan> I have to agree there, why mention the guardian at all?
<slackykingofgorges> Trying to help the guardian is all.
<NemesisZero> To re-iterate, folks, if you think you can harbor real suspicions on the first day, I hope to god none of you ever join a police force
<TheMuffinMan> All fun and games, nem
<slackykingofgorges> I mention it because it was a tip for next game, every wolf in history on this forum lynched a good player on night 1
<NemesisZero> That would actually be a good reason for the wolves to lay low this game.
<slackykingofgorges> Supicously loud fingerpoint at random voters.
<slackykingofgorges> that doesnt make sense.
<NemesisZero> Four times black is a little dangerous, isn't it?
<SaltzBad> Why? The full frontal attack doesn't leave any traces early on nem0
<slackykingofgorges> I gave proof to my vote??
<SaltzBad> unless you mean verbally low
* Sky|work reminds everyone of Mouse's activity from last game
<TheMuffinMan> what did mouse do last game?
<Sky|work> loud behavior doesn't mean "wolf"
<slackykingofgorges> nor does silent
<Sky|work> indeed
<Sky|work> condizzle
<slackykingofgorges> Wolves can act either or nothing.
<slackykingofgorges> usually one wolf has to be active.
<slackykingofgorges> And the others lay low
<Pulse> yikes
<Pulse> it's up to 5 now
<slackykingofgorges> Normally how it works who knows how they will do it this game.
<Sky|work> eh?
<lolfighter> EA discriminates against me.
<lolfighter> H8.
<Sky|work> i have to check the thread, what's going on...
<SaltzBad> I only see 4 pulse
* BadKarma has joined #ns-twg
* ChanServ sets mode: +v BadKarma
<SaltzBad> oh another page
<SaltzBad> DOH
<BadKarma> howdy all
<Pulse> EA discriminates against their customers
<lolfighter> I'm trying to register a game with them, and they just keep telling me my chosen name is invalid.
<TheMuffinMan> lolly, would it be possible for you to post in the thread the current vote count?
<TheMuffinMan> lo badkarma
<lolfighter> Evil bastards.
<TheMuffinMan> anyway, to lay off slacky a bit
<Pulse> wait
<BadKarma> i just voted for slackstyle
<TheMuffinMan> does anyone else have any other suspicions?
<lolfighter> I was planning on doing that in a while, TheMuffinMan.
<Pulse> that's not so bad, lolly
<lolfighter> Yes Pulse. Yes it is.
<Pulse> I mean, who registers for a game from a big publisher like EA?
<TheMuffinMan> cheers lolfighter
<lolfighter> I have to. I need the account.
<Pulse> you're probably the first one to do it
<lolfighter> It's not that I LIKE it.
<lolfighter> I am probably not.
<Pulse> account? oh, you mean like... Everquest 2?
<slackykingofgorges> Alright.
<Sky|work> christ, slacky's got 5...
<lolfighter> Knowing the people who buy The Sims, they will ALL have registered.
<lolfighter> No Pulse. Sims 2.
<slackykingofgorges> guys back to twg
<Sky|work> didn't the first day last like 6 pages last game?
<Sky|work> more?
<Pulse> what does registering get you?
<slackykingofgorges> ITs funny how I'm being ban wagoned for bring up points and trying to make people think....
<lolfighter> Access to the exchange.
<lolfighter> I saw a house there that I wanted, and to my dismay they demand registration, the godless capitalists.
<BadKarma> no that funny
<BadKarma> not rather
<Sky|work> you sound like commie
<TheMuffinMan> You brought up your points quite forcefully, which was the problem
<slackykingofgorges> ahhh
<slackykingofgorges> forcefully.
<slackykingofgorges> By making one post saying what I thought.
<slackykingofgorges> Is that worth bandwagoning a human.
<NemesisZero> slacky, no offense here, but you're being 'bandwagoned' for the style of those actions, not for the actions themselves.
<slackykingofgorges> If you think so then by all beans go for it.
<slackykingofgorges> style.
<Sky|work> for the record, and this coming from someone who had to work with slacky last game as a wolf, he's like that all the time
<Pulse> I think that proofreading your posts would help your case
<Pulse> a lot
<slackykingofgorges> What bringing up good points on day 1 instead of just random voting and lynching with no proof
<NemesisZero> This is the first day. None of us is yet very certain of what to do.
<Sky|work> ooh, proper grammar
<TheMuffinMan> you wont get lynched, that i can guarantee
<slackykingofgorges> proper grammer, meh
<NemesisZero> So small hints tend to get blown out of proportion.
<TheMuffinMan> if it comes to it, i will definitely revoke my vote. I suspect you, but not enough to kick you out
<Sky|work> i was talking about nem0
<Sky|work> "none of us is"
<Sky|work> most americans would say "are"
<Sky|work>
<slackykingofgorges> Muffin.
<NemesisZero> Is that correct? I only screwed up two pages up
<TheMuffinMan> Yes?
<slackykingofgorges> Tell me the style I went around this?
<SaltzBad> I'm gonna go grab some food, make sure slacky doesn't get instalynched accidentially, m'kay?
<TheMuffinMan> I will ignore the talk about the guardian in your first few posts. You expressed your hate for random votes, but then voted for snidely with no decent evidence. You say that random votes can only harm us, so either you have some amazing evidence against him or you are contributing towards the humans loss
<Pulse> argh
<Pulse> somebody post something
<Pulse> the suspense is killing me, and I don't even know what the suspense is for
<slackykingofgorges> Muffin that makes some sense.
<TheMuffinMan> Thank you.
<slackykingofgorges> Except I gave some evidence.
<slackykingofgorges> I believe that wolves try to make random votes and jump on bandwagons.
<slackykingofgorges> This was the proof I gave.
<BadKarma> unless of course
<TheMuffinMan> then why not attack im lost?
<slackykingofgorges> IT was a lot more then just a random vote.
<BadKarma> you dont want to look like a wolf
<slackykingofgorges> I don't.
<slackykingofgorges> really.
<slackykingofgorges> What human would?
<slackykingofgorges> lol
<BadKarma> mm
<NemesisZero> I think it's safe to say that no member of this game wants to look like a wolf.
<slackykingofgorges> Muffin I told you why I took snidely as the example.
<NemesisZero> Unless they play a three-corner game.
<slackykingofgorges> HE said random.
<TheMuffinMan> I hardly call that evidence, slacky. Im Lost made a random vote, so why jump on im? We have all jumped on the bandwagon, but we are definitely not all wolves
<slackykingofgorges> I did not know if im lost had evidence.
<slackykingofgorges> true...
<slackykingofgorges> Its not evidence.
<slackykingofgorges> I'm lost did not say random, I have told you this already.
<brute_force> arrgh, nooo, I missed Nem0's 11111'th post!
<TheMuffinMan> It is just as much as we have for you, which is why i have no intention of keeping my vote if it will get you instalynched
<slackykingofgorges> I did not know if he had some kind of evidence agaisnt him, so I chose snidely because he said random vote.
<TheMuffinMan> To be honest, it was as much to put you under pressure as anything else
<TheMuffinMan> Why not hold your vote then?
<slackykingofgorges> ?
<TheMuffinMan> surely a vote based on such little evidence so early in the game would just damage the humans
<TheMuffinMan> Why not wait a while longer in the hope that someone else will make a slip?
<SaltzBad> Well with a 75% chance Muffin
<SaltzBad> 4/16 are wolves after all.
<SaltzBad> But thats just nitpicking
<TheMuffinMan> quiet you
<slackykingofgorges> muffin let me explain to you thorugh pm
<BadKarma> im off then
<TheMuffinMan> bye
<slackykingofgorges> same
* BadKarma has quit IRC (Quit)
<TheMuffinMan> im off as well, see you later fellas
<NemesisZero> Cya

If anyone cares, I started off the voting in TWG I with a random vote (the first vote on the first day). I will probably do this in every TWG, unless someone else is there to beat me to it (like Mouse) or something is discussed during the first night so that I have a really good reason not to.
