So are we done spazzing out at everyone who smokes yet? I mean, surely this has run its course.

    I smoke, just not cigarettes <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

besides, a good hookah bowl every now and then over at my friends house lets me get some good smoke rings / let smoke come out of mouth and into nose practice

I harp on the people who smoke packs a day over at that house, they get called fiends constantly <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

however one thing that I must give "mad props" to smokers for is that a random smoker can ask another random smoker for a cigarette, and chances are very good that they will give one <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Better yet, most smokers will ask to buy one out here and just be given one by most, unless they offer like.. five bucks for a smoke. :b Then nobody's gonna pass up the price of a pack and a coke out of generosity. Offering a quarter is a good way to get a freebie, but a dollar is riding the line. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

You know what would be really malevolent? Walking around with cigarettes laced with rat poison and giving them out when people ask.

Oh, right, there's already rat poison in the cigarettes.

I kid, I kid <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> I don't care as long as air filters aren't too expensive and I can filter that crap outta my life.

And though others may offer a differing perspective, it is their responsibility to respect the decision of an individual. And to STOP offering their perspective once it has been acknowledged.

Also, keeping in mind the fact that the warning labels on cigarettes have been progressively getting larger, it's a bit tough to miss them. Or the anti-smoking ads. It's difficult to imagine how any anti-smoker (as opposed to non-smoker, who simply goes about their own life without smoking) can carry the illusion that a smoker doesn't realize that their habit is harmful.

Short version. We don't ask for your approval, we don't ask for you to condone it, we don't ask for you to stick around while we smoke. We don't even ask for the anti-smoking ads to stop. But when you stop and tell us individually, specifically that we should stop smoking, you deserve an ***-beating of equal doggedness as your 'warning'.

Extra-short version. The little hints you drop do little other than irritate. Irritation is not the way to convince someone. Cut it out.

I mean, look at <Insert annoying religious cult here, personal preference Mormons>. They do nothing other than steal a few precious seconds of your day. You have about as much chance of converting a smoker to a non-smoker, as they have of converting anyone from South Central to their church.
The difference is, <Insert annoying religious cult here> get beaten, if not shot in SC. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
I should probably run home to my Mom with a bag of cigarettes and start throwing them at her yelling "Smoke them, smoke them now!" then.

Or maybe she understood that I wanted her to be around for more than another 10 years.

You know, however one's mind wants to construe events.

[Note, thusly, ads mean nothing, if you have no reason to care.]

I am all for the smoking of "certain substances".

    Like "perfectly legal cigarettes".

    EDIT: Typo.
