When I first joined the NS community which was pretty much the beginning of my online gaming days I chose this name because I coded in PHP a lot and a very familiar error that one gets when coding in PHP is "Parse Error" so I just added an underline and it stuck.

I've since changed my name to Touqen (which is a severe misspelling of Token) in most instances with the exception of the NS community.

    [Realness]
I used a lot of nicknames during the time I played videogames. A friend of mine called himself "realness" and I just named myself "realness' brother". Later on he used another nickname and I liked the meaning of the name "realness" so much that I used it myself.
Realness means that I am real and that I am how I am.

    [Lt]
    I added the "Lieutenant" later on when I started playing NS in 2004 and since then I am Lt.Realness <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

MovingTarget is the name that I use when I play NS because when I first started playing, that's literally all I was good for.

On a side note, it said that the name was already taken on these forums, so I'm Moving_Target0 here. Yay?

Let's see...waaaay back when Diablo 1 first came out I called meself Sabre or SirSabre or something like that...

Then I got into PVK (another HL mod) and changed to "General Specific" for no real reason (sheep inna city sheep inna city SQUAWK).

Then, after hearing many people calling my swordfighting style "chaotic," I called myself General Chaos instead.

THEN, after coming to NS, I decided that General just didn't fit NS. So I chose Spawn of Chaos.

I'm thinking of just going with "Kaos," the archaic spelling of Chaos. So...yeah I think I will. Someone please change my name here for me?

    THANKS!

people either <i>know </i>me and address me by my real first name or they don't know me at all and they communicate not with me but with whatver actor behind the pseudonym. in that sense i am a true lurker, an Anon anywhere i go.

I don't know what kind of ego it takes to think that someone who replies to more than one of your posts (and who has more than 7k posts on this forum, most of then in Off-Topic) is somehow specifically stalking you, but Hitler's butt is so thoroughly kicked that we could go around with swastikas tatooed on our foreheads with our arms stuck out above our heads and he'd still be considered a failure. Frankly for him to claim even a moral victory we'd have to start gassing minorities and invading someplace other than the Middle East.

I got mine from a combination of 2 things. 1 was from the movie Ben-Hur, i thought it was funny cause hell it sounds like Bend Her. the ober part came from a guy i used to play with back in the TFC days called OberJunk, and ober sounds like...over..tada!. So i put them together and wham! BenHurOber came to life. that was about 5 or 6 years ago.

Originally (long time ago) was #Ha.Ze^_^ because I copied it off of some guy named #Cri.stian^.^ or something when I firsted start NS. Then it got shorted to Haze, then I put an 88 on the end because 88 is a sexy number and rolls off the tongue, then I changed it to Jester, which has stayed for a long time. I'm a fan of more realistic shooters instead of something like Unreal Tournament, and usually myself and a few friends go nerd out and laugh among ourselves when we move together as a squad (3 to 4 of us, typically 3) and talk in "hardcore" voices while we do things. It's entertaining.

But because I enjoy being in a squad a lot, there is usually that guy in every (famous) squad that cracks a joke at every possible moment, which would undeniably be me. In any given situation. I am, 100%, the "Jester" of any hardcore squad. The guy that kicks major ass, then has a catchy, witty and slightly amusing line to say afterwards, 50% for the awesomeness, and 50% for the purpose that one liners after doing something hauss is so stereotypically corny that I could never pass up the opportunity to do it.

    So yes, Jester.

edit: Yes, firsted start is a typo. But it's too amusing to edit. Laaaaaaaaaate night.
edit2: And when I say realistic shooters, I mean shooters that are mildly realistic. <i>Mildly.</i> Like DoD:S. A shooter where some laws of realism apply, but there is still room for epicness within the game, whereas in Rainbow 6 games, (pre-vegas) there aren't many epic moments, really. I guess holywood realism is what I think. But more realistic than hollywood.

    Why am I rambling? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

My old alias is the "fun" one. Anarchy 2k

It started in 1994 when i was 14. I bought a membership for a Laser Tag place that used to be near my house, and they had me pick a code name. Firt cool-sounding not-always-mentioned word I thought of was "Anarchy." And thus my original Alias was born, and later, I earned the right to keep it's name.

I had a "career" in laser tag as being the player that could tear a team apart using unconventional means (fear, anticipation, sabatoge,) and could also stand my own against any who challenged me. Eventually, that lead to painball, where I used similar tactics and nearly went pro for Iron Men.

However, events took a turn for the worse in 2001, I got arrested cause a couple of guys I was with decided to be ######s and rob a place while I was with them. To make that story short, I didn't do time but I became a christian (say what you will, I'm just telling the story.)

I stopped gaming for a awhile, but I picked up NS (1.02) through mention from a friend of mine and decided to alter my name to give it a new meaning, by creatively adding 2k at the end (or not so creatively,) I decided to give myself a new life under the alias, and instead of using tactics to destroy, I became part of a community and did my best to help build it.

A2k died when I started clanning. Through unprovoked slander, defamation, and personal attacks from a few members in their prime in a couple of the top clans in the CAL league, my gaming experience and reputation suffered, so I left NS. (Although I still miss the clan-mates I had in [OO] and ent~.)

I left NS for a couple of years, coming back under the name which I had been given by the youth groups I help out with at church (kids are way too lazy now adays,) John Top. Top is the beginning part of my last name, and the rest is polish... so just stick 8 random consenents and 2 vowels in there and you get the drift. It was hard to pronounce.

John Top certainly isn't a memorable name, but it's mine. (Did I mention my spelling is horrible?)

Well, after a long time of not being on these boards, I have decided to come back, as I loved hanging out even more than playing the game sometimes. Kudos to anyone who remembers me. I figure this is as good a place as any to return.

My screen name is the abbreviation of Radioactive Cheese, which I acquired through the use of a random name generator. I saw it and was like, "Cheese. Radioactive Cheese. Awesome."
It was shortened to R A C, or R_A_C depending on spacing requirements, when I tried to make a HALO alias. Radioactive Cheese was too long by 2 letters I think.

If I'm feeling particularly inept or unskilled on a given evening, I will change to knife boy and run around with only melee or something else equally silly.

    Guess I'll fill in.

I originally made a SN for AIM. Part of a school project, people decided we <i>had</i> to meet on AIM. So, I named myself aznsmarty just to poke fun at them. I'm asian, and people keep saying I'm smart. Already taken, so I tacked on 07.

I decided it was too lame after a while and a bit pretentious. I needed an alias for a MMORPG called Ragnarok Online and was playing a mage, so I named myself spellman. Already taken, I tacked on 23.

Ironically, I tend to have bad spelling while typing quickly on a keyboard.

When I was younger... erm... 12-13? I don't know. I was playing UT with some random name and then I decided I should jump on the band wagon and get a name that would stick with me. I wanted something with "Myth" in it but it needed something else. I threw around some other words and then sat down to watch Mr. Hollands Opus.
After a few minutes of watching it clicked in and MythOpus became my chosen username/in-game name ever since. Recently, I've decided to start using my actual name most of the time, but have stuck with MythOpus in NS as it has more of a community than most of the other games I play and I'm most recognizable by it.

Hmm I haven't posted in here yet it seems.

Well, original name was Freak83. I used this since I first started using the internet probably back in grade.... 7 or so. At the time calling myself "freak" seemed to be cool and 83 was a completely random number with no significance I stuck onto the end of my name. It stuck.

Until a few months ago anyway.

More recently and considering I'm about to graduate university, I realized that it's a very stupid and childish name. I now go by "Jhole" which is the first letter of my first name and first 3 letters of my last name with an 'e' stuck on the end of it. (pronounced 'Joel' which is not my first name ironically).
  • NicksaerianNicksaerian Join Date: 2008-10-15 Member: 65207Members, Constellation
Nicksaerian was a name I made up while beta testing Lineage 2 (which blows btw). It allowed for a first and last name, so I picked my real first name Nick and made up Saerian on the spot.

I've played under two alias' for the majority of my NS time and they have been Nick, Nick the Candy Man and Paja con queso. To be quite honest, I have no idea where I got Candy Man, another random thought like Saerian was if I had to take a guess. Paja con queso came from a conversation I had with a friend in Venezuela. I asked him what the spanish equivalent for jerking off was, he said paja was slang for that term. I slapped con queso on the end which means "with cheese" and away I went. Con queso everybody knew. Paja most people weren't too sure about and I was asked quite a bit on servers what it meant. Recently I've been playing under Candy Man.

"The Forlorn Hope" refers to the unit of convicted or terminally ill soldiers that were sent in first during the Napoleonic war. It was a dead cert that they would be killed in that initial charge and find that out made quite an impression on me... that dying men wanted to go out in such a glorious manner.

When I first chose it I had read "Sharpe's Tiger" by Bernard Cornwell and being a massive fan of the TV series, I thought it an apt name for my fps playing style... run in and die.

Alias was an Album-oriented rock/hard rock band, formed in 1989 in Toronto by vocalist Freddy Curci and Steve DeMarchi of the Canadian arena rock band Sheriff ("When I'm With You"), along with Heart founding members Roger Fisher, Steve Fossen, and Mike DeRosier.
