    OK I just started, so sign me up for the grand NS_Armada.

    Anyone have some early strategy for me to use?

    Early strategy - build a robo factory first off. Do this by spending precisely the amount the robo costs. You can see the exact cost of the building by looking at the number in the same row on the far column. Then build a hydro farm. Again spending only the exact amount of pp you need to create it. And then keep getting alternate robos and hydro's until you have 4 of each. When you have that, build a few galactic subnets and start saving for colony ship. Launch the colony ship so it arrives at the new planet just a few hours ahead of when you will reach culture lvl 2.

    Also, change your research to Social Science straight up, ignore biology for now. Biology is only important once you have a solid position in your star system and are looking to expand.

    And please, leave your Login name, and the star system you are in so we can all recognise you.

    Seeing as I cant edit my nublets guide, I'll just post my addendum here.

    First of all - scratch what I said about bouncing. You cant do anything to avoid giving the other guy a warning, even launching from a starsytem his biological scanners cant see. No matter what you do, that guy is gonna get a warning the next time he logs on. So try and launch and arrive while he is asleep.

    Second of all is transport. You get a 100% speed bonus for traveling between planets that you control. Thus, in my attempt to invade necro-'s star system I have launched a colony ship to planet 12. When it arrives, I am going to spend my roughly 580 pp amassed on my home planet on a battlecruiser and zoom it between my home planet and the colony. And it will get there in half the time the colony ship took.

    If you used my referal link - then I get a culture referal bonus equal to your player level per day. Seeing as all of you have yet to actually kill something and go up a player level - I am currently getting ZERO!!!

    I think it works both ways though, so you guys should be getting a bonus from me. But I'm not doing this for the bonus really. Three or four culture a day doesnt really help much when you need 300 culture points to get to the next level <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->. I just think its a great game, and I like the idea of all us forumites getting together to attempt to take on the galaxy, while at the same time enjoying what we all love best - NS.     Don't bother my fleet is knocking the s*** outa everyone there. Im attacking the afk dude first than the other guy who only logged in once by tommrow they should be dead(one planet that is) than i will send a transport to kill them all MUAHHAHA

    Daza400 make sure you keep your ships at that planet you are sending your transports to until those transports arrive, because if they show up at that planet and your combat ships arent seiging it - wave goodbye to the transports.

    moultano hasnt actually signed up for the alliance Cronos, so he prolly doesnt check this thread. Try sending him a pm in the ns forums and in Astrowars PM itself.

    Well maybe sending his fleet in 4 seperate parts wasn't such a smart idea, I mean, I couldn't have survived all that in one go, but as it is my level 6 starbase should be able to handle them all..... right?

    Oh, and I will have a cruiser by then.

    Dude, if you survive that lot, and I have my doubts you will - then you are going to be rolling in the experience points, and with all that res he spent, you will send him back to the dark ages.

    Each attack reduces your starbase, so build that cruiser, and then pump every last little bit of pp you can squeeze into that starbase. Change your tech to Mathematics NOW!

    If he had sent that all at once, I woulda recommended surrendering and restarting. But as hes done em in dribs and drabs, and given that you will have at least a lvl 6 starbase and a cruiser waiting to say hello, I think your chances are reasonable.

    Pray, build that crusier and research maths asap.

    Its those 9 destroyers he is sending initially that worry me - 18 attack value.... Still, a lvl 6 starbase and a cruiser can take him.

    Well I also just noticed he has just taken a planet in my system... if he wants to wipe me out there is very little I can do to stop him atm <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Although on the bright side even if all of those destroyers attacked at the same time my starbase's defence value would be greater than their attack value.... that means i'll probably win.... right?

    A high level player just came to my system and set up a colony. We're all at pop 4, so we don't really have a chance once his fleet comes into the system. So there's no system to stop high level players from just mopping up new ones? Is it just luck that you survive to get a fleet?

    Also, if I can form an alliance with the other 3 members of the system, what would be the best way to wipe him out (the intruder)?

    Bah, I didn't have enough culture to colonize another planet, so my colony ship has been sitting there for a while, I got a culture rating boosted, and it does nothing! I launch the ship to the planet it's already at and it takes 8 hours to get there! BAH!

    Oh well. Give me more time to build up my armada of dewm.

    i just colonized on another planet and gettin 15 pps per hr along with +8 pop per hr. i also have 4 destroyers pumped up with level 4 physics, but i have a question. since my new planet is getting now 2 pps per hour can u use my 15 pps per hour and spend my 151 pps i have now on the new planet tp rack in like 45 pps per hour in all?

    Hang on, your level 6 starbase has a defence value of 42, add that to the 16 of your cruiser and you are getting around 58. Now your starbase can be damaged and thus have its level dropped back to 5 or 4 in combat, so we'll just see how you do.

    Dont think there is nothing you can do - you are going to get probably 2 and possibly 3 Supply Units from this. Those can be sold for 338 production points at the moment. 338 x 3 (best case scenario) will see you with a grand total of 1014 production points. Thats about 1 battleship, 1 cruiser and a few destroyers you can build. So he loses all that res he pumped into transports and destroyers, gives you all the experience you could ever have dreamed of, and hands over a few SU's to yah.

    He may very well have just kicked his own @ss.

    Diablus: Separate PP pools. I have heard of a strategy where by if you are on planet 2, and you colonise planet 1, then cash all pp in for astrodollars and then change all astrodollars back to pp - all that pp gets dumped on planet 1, which might be what you are trying to do.....

    What planets do you own?

    LoL legion same thing happened to me - my colony ship thats invading necro- SS just got there and it claimed the culture wasnt high enough. Which is really strange, as I only have 5 planets and 10 culture which should let me have 6 planets.....

    Transmission he is probably not a high level player. I started my empire about a week ago and already I can get to necro-'s SS. Its just that his star system isnt very active, and as such I am going to have a battleship there before most of them have their first supply unit. What level science and culture does he have?

    There is a system in place, and that system is distance and bigger fish. It takes a freakin long time to get to another star system, and you cant just capture every planet you see because you have culture slowing you down. And if someone sees that he has a fleet in another SS, then they know he prolly aint to well defended at home. Whats his name? I'll see if I can see him and send my new friend mr battleship to say hello.

    What you may wish to think about is not wiping out the intruder, but maybe allying with him. See if he's willing to split the star system 50/50 with you. If he says no, THEN go and talk to all the other guys in your SS (just dont mention the bit about you trying to backstab them).

    A question though, i've sold my first supply unit, and now it says "Supply units -1" under "orders" in the trade section. I assume that means i'm selling 1 supply unit. How long before I get the cash for it?

    It said somewhere that all supply units are sold at such and such a time....I think it was 3:something GMT...probably mistaken a little though.


    I just noticed that it's not ...economical...to put science into economy past 4 during your beginning...heh. I need an army to smack down that only highish level dude in my star system...and eventually that dude that's in a neighboring one.

    If anyones wondering when you can invade some planets, like I was, but Marine01 didn't really answer my question: If you see a star system, and you click on it in the map area and it doesn't give you any planets, you can't attack it until some people sign-up and get assigned to it. I was wondering why I couldn't send ships to Alpha Sartan, and now there's 4 guys there at pop 1, SB 2....and now I can send guys there.


    Marine01: For the pop cap given by social sciences, is that per planet or pop total, because I might want to research something else now, if it's only per planet...

    Yeah, Supply Units are traded at a certain time each day.

    Ahhhh okay I guess its possible there are empty star systems.... didnt think of that. I thought you where looking at the whole map of the galaxy that you can get from the about section.

    The cap is per planet. If you are capped at 10, and you have a second planet that has only 5 pop - your 09 pop planet will stop but your 5 pop planet will continue growing.

    Okay then nm dialbus, you cant do the cash/recash thing. Just build it up the way you built up your first lot.

    EDIT anyone else notice that the price of SU's is rising again? At was down to 317,00 yesterday, and today its at 357,00

    For Diablus:

    No, that's just the destroyer. They all lose a fraction. Destroyers go from 30 to 29, I think the battleship goes from 600 to 580 or something. You need a level 4 economy for it to change though, which you might want to research somewhere else to start.

    Anyone near my planet wanna start owning people nearby? I'm just starting my fleet now. Right now I've got 1 Destoryer, and a level 5 SB and a level 1 SB.

    I don't get why the time calculator isn't accurate until Math. is up higher. It'd just be basic physics to find out the velocity required (or time required) to get a given mass to a give point in a certain amount of time. Granted, since it's space it'd require some slightly more advanced physics than I know (Special Relativity is about as good as I know...or did know...). You'd be pretty accurate with special relativity anyway, general relativity wouldn't be that drastic of a change.

    Physics (and most sciences, for that matter) are built off maths. You'll be using more intergration etc etc for that sort of thing than any space-related physics.     My system is coming along fine now. I'm winning in it, there's one afker, one semi-afker, and the other doesnt really seem very interested.     Got my first colony ship moving on out. Getting a good 9 pp/h, my economy lvl of science is at lvl 5 (so i get cheaper things <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->)
    It seems i have one guy in my system thats active, However, i am larger then him (as he seems to have started yesterday). Should I 1 talk to him OR 2, get say 3 destroyers, bounce em off another planet and back stabb him? That way the whole system is mine?

    I am there with 3 other people, one is a NS person, one either hasn't logged on yet or is permenantly AFK, and one is semi AFK, so me and the NS person are going to take it over quick.

    There's one other guy in my system who's a little behind me, and then two afks. In the systems near me there's one guy right behind me, and the rest are pretty far back.
