When geyser erupts, push player upwards. When over thermal vent, have slow, steady updraft. As mentioned in the posts below, the mechanics are already implemented in the wreck in the safe shallows by the Aurora (unless the current there has been removed?)
Yes, that would be a great way to stealthily steer the devs into a course of development of a 'water-currents' mechanic. Then, before long I'll have the Maelstrom of Doom I've been hankering for all along. Sneaky.

I was with you, oh boy what a plot twist, I was indeed with you... RIGHT UP TO THAT BIG NOPE THERE!
this fishguy is one of those pesty little fanbois, who simply ruin the forum experience.
ive no idea why you would want that upthrust future @0x6A7232 . it would physically make sense though !
also @Quiet_Blowfish, it would be a minimal intervent and has barely nothing to do with mechanics.
(simply add upwards movement to the character in certain coordinates)
; )
There's a wreck near the rear of the Aurora, in the safe shallows, that has a stream of bubbles that do this. I suspect adding this mechanic to steam vents/geysers would be relatively easier (but I am not a programmer).

@nesrak1 - I know what he means, it's in the shallows by the Aurora, and it's already implemented. Would it be easy to make all geysers do this coding wise?
@Belgarel -- would something like this be in your alley, or or you strictly doing bugfixes? If so, who do I bug to at least get it in the "really neat stuff we'd like to look at after 1.0" bin? @Obraxis .. please don't hurt me? Alright I'll be good now.

*grumble* Who are you and what did you do with the real @0x6A7232? They are "feature locked" until 1.0. Only bug fixes until release. Just what do you think you are doing trying to get them to add something new?? I've long thought you were really a computer. No one could know as much as you unless they are an AI.... SkyNet! Did you get a virus?

It's not a new feature; simply move the code from one location, to another. Loophole, see? Not a new feature. No, not at all.

If you think about it, all they'd really need to do is put a bubble-stream in those locations. (I say that like it would be easy when I have no idea what goes into programming something like this game, though.)

Compared to coding a new asset, it'd be easy. However, you might introduce new complications and stuff, so... I dunno. Probably would be easy (again, relatively), I would think.

STAHP, @Kouji_San is now huddled in a corner, rocking back and forth with his head in his hands. See what you've done, @Quiet_Blowfish ?
... Sub 2 / dlc
