I'm not interested in most of the worthless chitchat over here you know, it really doesn't worth my little spare time + better things to do. That's why I didn't care get my old account back, I just re-registered for voice my opinion in the changes in the gameplay UWE have been implementing lately, and I'm going to keep saying what I think till some random admin get me banned for refuse become part of the indolent herd. I have higher standards, I'm sorry, is nothing personal. Thanks. Meanwhile the attacks ad hominem says a lot about the level around here.

P.S. BTW, I don't understand why you keep taking about this game [RNT]Warmonger, you are out of the scene since early 2008; in the left hand I play NS on a daily basis after work since 2005 when I came back after a hiatus, so, yeah me feels like knowing what is going on here. Just saying.

C4K3, you're entirely entitled to your opinions and voicing them, but your posts are kind of disjointed. All you're getting across is a general dislike, rather than specifics.

Sorry Predator, doing my best; in fact I love this game. Hardcore.

@ UWE. NS is alive after SEVEN years. Thats a new record in the uber changing gamescene - red sea full of hungry sharks. How long will be the NS2 life if you are putting on it random cheesy features of failgames? My point is, you guys must keep all the NS features and expand the posibilities, is a strategic movement if you refuse, please fire your marketing stratego. I played, fallout, deadspace, battlecrap, and a long etcetera. One week each. Now, ask me which game in the only one in a clean, defragmented, separated partion in my HD. You got it. Is all about Natural Selection.

NS2 will never be as good as NS if you cut all the great things you put there when you had the big picture in you head seven years back Flayra. Please, keep all the abilities and conditions, you can just add eyecandy and new features in a more deep, realistic experience and believe me, we will be playing it for the next 10 years. Please do not mutilate your own creation, is the only game that has no lamecrap built in other than the HL netcode. You can make a paradigma in the game industry, just get some self confidence in what you did at the beginning and get a good marketing campaing, because that was the ONLY lack in the NS, I mean, seriously, the weak part was that almost noone knew about this game in time. That's why we have NSPlayers playing NS for first time nowadays, go figure.

I have great expectations for NS2. I like what I’ve seen so far. I also expect it to be different than NS1. Every game I play that has produced a “second” version, (HL, far cry, fallout, doom are some examples) have made major changes that were well received. I doubt NS1 will go away. You can still play it if you are disappointed with NS2. I play both DOD and DOD source and I’m sure I’ll play both NS1 and NS2. I trust UWE to make a great game.

C4K3, it is a ridiculous strategy for UWE to just remake the game but only on a better engine. If you want to sell it, you must be able to differentiate the sequel from the original. Name me a game that has the sequel exactly the same and sold better, or got a better critical reception? If people make sequels, they have to bring something new to the table besides revamped graphic, otherwise people will just play the original game. And since NS is a free mod, there would be absolutely no incentive to buy NS2 if it is completely the same except for bumped up graphics. Or at least, it wouldn't reach out to a wider audience. At the end of the day, UWE actually wants to make money.

And don't worry. UWE has promised that NS2 will be so customizable, somebody will make a classic NS mod out there for you and all the die hard "no change" advocates. If there's one thing you gotta love, its the customization available to you.

If they fired their marketing stratego then they would have fired 25% of their work force! :P You do realize that UWE is all of 4 people and 5 now because they hired a new coder last week or so.

C4K3, I understand your fears and woes completely. But, its hard to say that all of the characteristics and abilities of NS were the ONLY combination which could make a game that good and last that long. If it is, then they got extremely lucky in putting the first game together to get all of those things perfectly right.

That being said, whos to say that some new and changed things can't bring about a game of similar epicness?
• monopolowamonopolowa Join Date: 2004-05-23 Member: 28839Members
btw, 2 of the 3 "one week" games you listed are single player only. Everyone knows multiplayer games get played much longer than single player...besides, the fact that you run out of new content eventually doesn't make the game "bad". I liked a large number of things about Dead Space and Fallout 3 - the only problem was that once you finish the game, there isn't much incentive to go back right away and do it again.

and even if a game is "bad" it doesn't automatically apply to all its features and innovations...
• JAmazonJAmazon Join Date: 2009-02-21 Member: 66503Members
yeah, Deadspace had guns...NS2 has guns...therefore NS2 has features in common with a game that 'sucks' and thus sucks as well :P

Don't feed the trolls =)

Anyway, I have a CALL TO ACTION ! =)

No offence, but this UWE update sounded like a semi-call for help. Therefor I issue this call to action. I suggest we all go forth and pester the living hell out of all our friends who played NS1 but still haven't pre-ordered NS2. I don't know about you guys, but think I know somewhere between 4-8 such people, so...

So I say let's roll up our sleeves and get to it! WHO'S WITH ME??

(Might also consider buying more pre-orders yourself, and use 'em as xmas gifts, for example...)

*NOTE* if you want to reply to me, please reply here: http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/in...howtopic=107866

The skulks are too big, the lerk is too big, the gun is too big (it blocks your view so much you wouldnt be able to see if someone attacked you from the right-hand-side ) and the map looks a little bit too dark

I hope what happened to Team Fortress also happens to NS.
You know, I used to play the first Team Fortress, the one for Quake 1. When they launched Team Fortress Classic I didn't really like the changes and all, but I played it for a long time too. When they started to talk about Team Fortress 2 I didn't like the changes at all (graphics, gameplay changes and more...) but I play it today. I still think the comic-like graphics from TF2 is just ridiculous for a game like Team Fortress, but I still play it, it's a fun game. And I guess a lot of people had the same story.
So, I have to say that I'm not really glad with what they are doing to NS2, but I hope they make a cool game to play, cool enough to keep me playing it even thinking that NS1 was better.

Since your standars seems to be pretty low, I suggest you keep watching fashion emergency or some random soup opera, many people found them funny as well plus they are "free" if that matters in your book at least.

Amazed to hear that most sales were from the 40 dollar special edition. I wanted you guys to know that it was the last feature (explaining what I get for buying the 40 dollar option) that sold me. "Out eternal gratitude..." Those aren't just words, they are hammers that strike soundly on the conscience.

You are welcome for the support. In what other ways can I help?

Thank you for the honesty.

I agree with this.
