I bought the special edition today because they deserve it. I got way more then $40 worth out of NS1. Any value I get out of NS2 will just be cake. Thanks for endless hours of true entertainment. I look forward to many more.
I ordered the special edition last May, so it's been over a year since I purchased it. I'm very excited for this I just hope it doesn't blow my computer up. I played natural selection back in the day and really enjoyed it, I have really high expectations for NS2.
I had a blast playing NS1 for years and it was most enjoyable game. I hate single player games and when I first found out NS1 I stopped playing HL mods and others game I had :P
I pre-ordered the Special Edition, after listening to Charlie on bashandslash podcast describing the difficulties they had, I was so glad that I bought the SE NS2, to help the developers and also as a thanks for the fun I had.
I just also bought NS2 and I want to upgrade my ego. I'm excited about being able to play from alpha because I give very good feedback and I think I can help NS2 be a better game.
I paid the extra $20 to pay back for all the good fun I had playing NS1. Here's to hoping NS2 turns out to be just as entertaining. I just got on and tried it out, looks sweeet but where is everybody 0.o lol

I bought SE because I wanted to play in the alpha. Really badly
I could wait for the official release, or i could play the alpha and beta while waiting for the release. Hell when your already playing your not really even waiting anymore.

Don't think i'll have much chance to play (slash or that my laptop can handle it, or the NZ internet speeds). But in the end it was really the incentive to repay a little for ALL the enjoyment that I got from the original.

I bought NS2 SE for the alpha, and black armor is cool too. But i bought it because NS1 was the most addictive FPS i've ever played. I'm tired of COD6 even BFBC2... i want something different, and NS always had this ''something'' different!
One of the core in my lovly gaming community posted a thread about this game going into alpha tomorrow and I who had never heard of it (heard abit about NS tho) peaked in and saw that this looks like one of those special games which needs my attention and abit of money :P So bought myself a Special edition and as long as the devs gives this game the love I think they will, I'll be happy :)
Just upgraded to S.E, was too poor when i first pre-ordered.. Yay cant wait!!
Charlie / Max: Would you be able to share some rough numbers on upgrades? would love to know the conversion ratio :) that and some general sales since you announced alpha date, i bet they have gone through the roof! :D

It is nice to see see how in touch with the community you guys are, its something i wish more game developers would consider.
Same for me.
But between the sequel the the best RTS ever, and the sequel to the best GAME ever, my choice is made!
