I would buy NS if it was for sale but it isn't so instead I settle for NS2. Such is life, I guess.

    You bought ns ? I guess you got scammed <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    I pre-ordered it because I want ns2 and I felt like paying 20$ more for ns1.
    I even would buy constellation, if ns 3.3 gold edition would be coming <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

I bought the Special Ubar Hax Edition of Natural Selection 2 because I am so bad at playing video games and need the black armour hax so I can hide from skulks while they furiously destroy the com chair and look for me.
    Stupid Alien Flashlight!

Well, NS2 is fun I guess. Or it will be fun. But I still demand my hax!
    It's hard to play on a 12" screen with WINE emulation. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

But I think I speak for all of is when I say.

    NS2 FTW!

That's probably why most people bought it. Everyone needs more WIN, especially nowadays with the economic crisis and what not.

Got the SE edition because i was with NS from day one and loved it. And also because i saw that there is a chance that there will be a linux edition, so i figured, the more money they have, the higher are the chances that they can invest some time for the linux port

I posted in the first thread that I thought I was dreaming when I was drunk, but I actually bought it which to me, was pretty impressive in the morning.

I want to upgrade my ego because Comprox made the stickies I asked for. Now my favourite Canadian!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

I think I'll wait and buy it after it's been released and reviewed. Just a precaution.

I'm getting really anxious because I'm afraid I won't be able to get the money in time to get the special edition, let alone get someone to go online and buy it for me...

I really wish there was a way to buy these things without using a credit card D:

I mean, if I had $40 in cash, I would love to be able to buy it without having to put it on some card that I don't have.

Damn you parents and telling us, "You should spend your money more wisely!"

It's my money, let me waste it on material entertainment....

Yeah, I just posted in some other topic too, can't wait to play NS2.

    NS was awe-dropping when it came out. Jetpacking around shotgunning everything (pre-nerfs <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />).

    I bought my NS2 because... i'm a huge fan of NS 1..............
And like everyone else i bought the special edition and my black armor.
I seriously believe that we will only be playing against black armored marines for a while!
  • BlackHawkBlackHawk Join Date: 2008-06-17 Member: 64467Members
But the question is, will there be servers that offer black armor as a choice to spawn as? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />

'Cause I owed it to'em from NS1.2. SE of course, because I want to see how the development progresses from Alpha on (and because I'm a voice for the casual player, which I believe will be pretty limited in alpha). And ladies in black armour means a woman who obviously takes charge.. and hey, that's just a personal preferance for me.

I bought SE because I was a sucker for the black armour.

And the teaser trailer was too damn convincing.

I enjoyed the trailer, and the news of female marines, and then black armor.

Female marine in black armor = me.

    Yay!

I bought it to throw money at Charlie/Max.

Alpha testing is some pretty sweet icing on the cake though.

I bought the special edition because the black armour automatically gives you a bigger ######. And this is a fact!

I preordered with 5 mins of reading my email that said it was up for preorder. I've been a huge fan of NS1, and still preach it's glory to my friends of it's unique gameplay.

I paid for the special because of 3 things-

1- alpha testing, I wanted in early, you guys already had that freaking sweet environment so early on.... I can't wait....

2- I wanted to give you guys extra, let you guys develope it a bit better. I also want to develope game, so I should support the best of the independants.

3- That black armor just pushed me over the edge........ was that last push to ordering it like a brainwashed drone

LONG LIVE UNKNOWN WORLDS!!!! I swear you guys will probably reinvent the industry with your awesomeness as a company. You talk to us, even if you have to keep the game in quiet!

Pre-ordered SE version for much the same reasons as everyone else.

I, too, have been preaching to my gaming buddies about the "good old days" of NS and how nothing has come close to it since.

The second I opened my email and saw "pre-order" I blazed through links to reach the pre-order page. Then I was faced with the Standard / Special Edition choice. Only then did I look at the teaser, and I liked what I saw.

As the person above stated, Alpha access and black armor was all it took to cement my cursor's trajectory towards the SE button. 20 more dollars ? Hell I spent as many hours playing NS as I did playing WoW, and for FREE !(That's more than 250 bucks versus none) So I definitely owed that much to them. Plus, they do rock and I do want to support NS2 in any way possible.

Alpha access means I get my much needed dose that much sooner. It also means I get to tell all of my cheap(ungrateful/skeptical/jobless/just new to NS) friends that the game is just as awesome as I said it would be, then I get to point and laugh at them while I bask in NS2's glory just a bit earlier than them. Black armor is more of a long term thing for me, where in a few months to a year I'll be able to mock my friends (remember, the cheap ones) for not getting SE as I strut around in style!(Yes I'm very vain, thank you)

I am still very happy with this purchase and awaiting Alpha with bated breath.
  • solcottsolcott Join Date: 2003-11-04 Member: 22307Members
So I ordered the Special Edition also. I don't really care about the Black Armour (in fact I think it's going to be pretty lame) but my wife said, "Hey, what game you want for Fathers Day? You want me to preorder you that Conduit game or that NS2 you got emailed about?" so I said, "How about NS2, it's less likely to work pirated."

(I picked SE because of feeling guilty about never donating for Constellation)
  • ShataiShatai Join Date: 2002-12-30 Member: 11614Members, Constellation
Bought the special edition because I feel the years of gameplay and entertainment I got out of NS1 have already earned my money. If a few bucks from me can help motivate these guys with some numbers, I'm more than happy to oblige.

Of course I bought the Special Edition!

SPent so many good nights with NS1, its the least I can give back.

AND of course I bought it because I want to look down on everyone who did not in my shiny black Armor <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
