@Obraxis just told you that they had targets to meet that were set by UW. I'm 99% sure one of those targets was 'make X mount of USD'. There is no easier/… -

I know that. But as a rookie, I'm not getting it. And I've been following this game for some time (mainly because my system always had some issue with the game, as of now the most serious once got fixed).
Anyway, wrong … -

I started to realize it after my previous game, but it took a long time to learn that Onos != Tank. Thank's for the Bilebomb tip, I think I only ever saw that researched once or twice, seems underrated. -

nah it's quite easy to explain: People got the newsletter/saw the achievements, went online, played a few rounds, at some point got forced into an Alien team, found out that Mech units and Flamethrowers are too hard to fight agains… -

They do, yes. I only had sound problems once on Sunday (I think), after I had to restart the game because of a mapchange. [if a mapchange occurs, the game drops down to ~15 FPS, after a restart everything is fine. Guess there is so… -

ah, seems like 18 to 19 o'clock CET is a kind of low player count in general. Thank you for linking that. -
Played yesterday evening, felt like that fewer people were online. Lots of bots being placed into the alien teams.
But gameplay wise I didn't really notice a difference.
*edit*
wasn't there supposed to be some kin… -
I know that this isn't directly relevant, but could someone explain the idea that having only one person fixing bugs will retain players? How is that supposed to work?!

I'm currently running on Ubuntu 16.04 Beta, no problem yet. Maybe the packages required aren't yet updated. -
“Tis But a Scratch” should include a timer. Meaning, 'go down for 1 HP, get healing and stay alive for at least x seconds'. I got that achievement yesterday because I was near the Hive, got the last bite on an opponent while another shot at me, brin…

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Change the way wall-running works! Take a look at Tremoulus to figure out how it's done right.
If you start crawling on a wall, you stick to it. Regardless of what way you look. It's far easier … -
wrong thread.

I stand corrected. Ever since the change in who (mainly) develops NS2, this game got much better. Thank's to everyone involved!

so, this game is officially declared dead by UW now. Let's see how long the community can hold it above waters...all the best to you guys.

yeah, probably. But I don't know where to report them. Is it radeon specific or MESA? Or Gallium?
-
what I find strange is that apparently there are only two people experiencing this bug and both of us have AMD cards. Also I experienced it with the closed source driver and the open source driver.

could you check if there is something printed to dmesg (just type 'dmesg' in a terminal after the game crashed. Maybe your eyes can spot something related to a crash) or syslog (tail -20 /var/log/syslog should do the trick)? If something crashes it …

now that I come to think about it: I've also trouble with seeing invisible alien structures as an alien. Depending on my camera angle/my position I can see those invisible structures but most of the time I can't. Meaning, I don't see anything at all…

@Confused I'm still having this issue...did anything happen to that internal ticket?
-
@Confused ah, never mind about the core profile thing. Just checked the logfile: (Quote) so it's loading/initializing the correct version.

> NS2 is not compatible with any released mesa drivers up to and including mesa 10.x
uhhh and why is the game runnig for me? Aside from not seeing certain effects/alien night vision it works perfectly fine on Mesa 10.1. -
okay, after I read a little bit about what shaders actually are and what they are used for...I dug this up:

what is a cat pack? Do you mean this -> http://wiki.unknownworlds.com/ns2/Catpack

Deleted it, made it redownload it. No change. Also installed an AlienVision mod but no change either (yes, I enabled/activated it and restarted the game).
I also deleted the entire workshop folder. I changed all settings around. Nothing.… -
@Confused erh, sorry about double post but could try and find out if there are settings that can...uh...influence the effects/alien vision? Maybe even some settings that …

@Confused well it is Ubuntu 14.04 but Mir isn't default there. I'm not even sure if it's included. I'm using the Gnome edition if that's important. But I think this is re…

This issue still persists. Would be nice to have someone help me figure out if this is a driver or a game problem...
