Terms of Peace & The Union of Biomes (UB)

Once complete terms of peace have been reached between all nations, I find it only fitting that we display this new treaty we have adopted in the form of an alliance that will last generations. The Union of Biomes will be a thriving example of a country done right, and it will be beneficial for you leaders and your people. It will tie bonds between all states of the sea, and show us a new dawn, and a quick recovery. This agreement, however, comes with codes of conduct, if you do wish to join.

    Article 1:
A ) All fish are allowed to pass freely through other Union of Biomes states if the paperwork is at hand and can be shown to authority figures at the borders.
B ) All public transport inside Union of Biomes states will be put under strict and thorough maintenance every Monday and Friday. Public transport may pass through other states with the state leader's consent.

    Article 2:
A ) If another war is to break out, all prominent biomes (Grand Reef, Grand Blood Kelp, Dunes, North State, Crash Site, Sparse Reef) will be required to accept 50,000 refugees at a minimum.
B ) If another war is to break out, provisions will come in the form of dried fruits, and your biome will have a maximum of 200,000 of these provisions. If this number is to overflow, the excess will be given to other biomes who cannot meet the required 200,000 dried fruit provisions.
C ) A Union of Biomes state may war with another Union of Biomes state, but the war must not include super weapons or chemical warfare.

    Article 3:
A ) People in the Union of Biomes are not to be denied jobs due to gender or species, nor are they to be denied shelter if another war is to break out.

    Article 4:
A ) Trade routes are allowed to pass through Union of Biomes states without question. If any of the wars involved in said trade routes go to war, the trade route is immediately destroyed.
B ) Trade of illegal substances will result in a fine of the government for not checking what they are shipping.

    Article 5:
A ) Any state may leave the Union of Biomes if the public vote sways in favour.
B ) If a state is to leave the Union of Biomes, all trade routes to, through and from this state will be immediately broken.
C ) These articles do not apply to nations that leave the union.

So join the Union of Biomes and show your love to the ocean!

    The President's Fate

It is with a heavy heart that I announce former president Peeps Mantara's death. She died of her wounds in her sleep, and was not able to recover quick enough to save herself.

Now I shall recount her story.

She was first elected four months ago in the Presidential Election. From here the fate of the Grand Reef must be decided, so she conducted an election for this biome to find it a leader worthy of the title. Eventually this election became sour, and war broke out all over the ocean. Throughout the War of Five Fish, her first priority was to save the lives of the innocent. She reserved the shallows for refugees and did a good job in ordering the conflict. Eventually she was wounded in the fighting, and died last night in her sleep.

The Fate of the Grand Reef

There has been a question on everybody's minds recently; what is to become of the Grand Reef? Will it stay with the EPCA, who won the Grand Reef election a month ago, or is it to fall into the hands of N-LAP, who protected the biome from harm during the War of Five Fish. We reach out to the EPCA, as I wish to join our nations. We can join together in the hopes that one day we will fly a banner that represents both of out parties. We both strive for similar things, you and I; the safety of our environment. There is mroe to be gained than lost out of this deal, believe me.

We shall be known as the Conglomerate once again, and we will share in the Reef's greatness. We have both fought for it, and we have both won the fighting. Let us share.

    Small Battles

@phantomfinch . My final assault on your people during the war was a campaign against your southernmost Grassy Plateau. The attack resulted in the death of two of your armies. The war is over now, yet the survivors of this attack still charge against the Blood Kelp. They attack in small numbers, and we have no choice but to kill them. It also appears that they are doing no small amount of in fighting. Your armies are falling apart; the war has done something to them. Please, help call them off.

@ResolutionBlaze . Remember the Sandsharks we both helped liberate? They are not fighting one another in the Grassy Plateau, reports suggest. They have also attacked Stalkers and Reefbacks and we need to know what is going on there. They are fighting in the Sparse Reef as well, and we try to expel them civilly, but to no avail. Please help us get rid of these creatures.

This is gonna be a different kind of election, I'll tell you that for free.

I don't know what you'd expect from territorial predators.

Sandsharks are defensive animals. Just as we Reapers are. And after many days of starvation you bet they're gonna get as much food as possible.

    Let predators be predators, yes?

They are endangering the lives of civilians, and have in some cases taken them. We will gladly give them provisions, however if they are not going to be civil about it we will have to take action. I won't let innocent lives be put at risk, even by an ally.

If the sandsharks wish to hunt it will be done in their own states, under their own laws. I will not allow them to trespass on our land and expect us to bend to their rules. Please convince them to stop these attacks; the Conglomerate is struggling here.

If they are endangering your ecosystem, I give you permission to drive them out.

I will attend to this. Give them two days.

I'll give them five hours. Attacks have gotten increasingly more violent and the Sparse Reef can't handle two days of escalating assaults. We'll drive them out with our first priority being our civilian's safety. If we hurt any of your people in the meantime don't expect us to take any responsibility for it.

    Thank you.

I don't expect to. They do not belong there thus they are outside my influence.

Species must stay in their respective biomes.

However, we must discuss the booming Biter population. GCSC has been breeding many for the war. We must engage in selective hunting to lower the population or else the Sandsharks will starve, and the ecosystem will become unstable.

We were allies, but we have not forgotten the extreme threats you made during the first election about selective hunting and selective breeding and all of these vile ideas. You were a powerful ally, and you still are politically, but we will not take part in your discrimination and culling of the Biters.

You threatened to do this and if you truly are going to go through with it, let's hope you don't start another war.

Then the ecosystem will suffer, the population of prey will shrink drastically, plant life will die, and the out of control population of the Biters will be the end of us.

What's more vile? Predators feeding a particular species for a time or the entire ecosystem being put in harms way?

Just do what you have to do, we won't take any action in stopping you. All you have to do is know that we won't have any part in it.

Do not act like you are on some sort of moral high ground.

I haven't seen you accept any alternative proposals.

I am not killing due to species. It is fundamentally wrong, and we are having no part in it. Continue with it if you want, please don't let us stop you, but we do not like what you're doing.

We haven't put any alternative proposals out there because we want absolutely NOTHING to do with this discrimination.

Now if you'll excuse us, we have other more pressing matters to deal with.

We've achieved peace with the Shoal. Unsteady peace, sure, but peace none the less. We urge you to at least try to reach the same agreements and join the Union of Biomes, as many other nations have done.

There were some rebel Biters attacking us, yes, but they were dealt with in partnership with the GCSC. We are at the moment not enemies, nor are we strictly allies. The more pressing matters we speak of are the economic struggles we are currently going through, the Sandshark attacks that are still happening regularly and...

    something else has come up...

we cannot disclose anything but something is happening right now.

    More pressing matters. Pah!

The saftey of your ecosystem is not important enough for this canidate.

I'll let that speak for itself.

The Biter population simply needs to be evened out. Wouldn't take more than a couple of days to balance the population of biters.

It's long, but I'll label the paragraphs so that you can only read what you find interesting :)

Ok I admit that I'm an idiot for not reading all the posts but @ResolutionBlaze YOU ALSO BRED ALOT OF REAPERS FOR WAR AND ALMOST MADE THE STALKER SPECIES GO EXSTINCT FROM USING THEM AS A FOOD SORCE FOR YOUR WAR MACHINE. I SAY THAT ITS YOU THAT NEEDS TO BE PURGED BECAUSE OF OVERPOPULATION. MIGHT I ALSO ADD THE SAHP LARGE NUMBERS WOULD ALSO NEED A PURGE IN YOUR EYES? Face it, you just want sacure another victory for a finished war, and would that make a great leader? Sorry for the weird grammar it was salt filled and I'm on the urge of turning into communist phantom

From what I can tell from your previous statements, your party (The Rich Clan), of which you are the only representative, stands for environmental destruction, warmongering and global terrorism. You have issued numerous threats to nuke our beautiful world, an azure oasis in the boundless black void.

Enlighten us. Why should we vote for an alien menace who would send us all into oblivion given the opportunity?

    Disease

During the Fight for the Canyon in the War of Five Fish, it was reported that some of the Biter soldiers were covered in green throbbing tumours. It is now apparent that this was a disease that we did not want to catch. Now our numbers are depleting. If any other nations report these symptoms:

    Itchiness
    Green Tumours
    Cramps
    Green Eyes

We must work together to stem this bacterium. Our people are about to be wiped out, and although we do not blame the GCSC and the Shoal we urge them to be more careful in the future.

We have heard reports of rebellious Bonesharks attacking the GCSC. We don't at the moment know whether this is part of the NVP's program or they are rebelling; if it were the latter we would help, but we just don't know.

Specifically bright green around the pupils, maybe moving things behind the eye. Report this if seen.

And NVP. I'm still waiting on confirmation on the Boneshark attacks, can I intervene or are they a part of your plan?

@Phantomfinch , what do you plan to do about the NVP's planned attacks? I'm genuinely curious how you'll act.

Move all citizen of the GCSC into the jellyshroom cave and move all military personel to the hide in the kelp zone, safe shallows and grassy palous caves. A reaper would be too large to do this, a sand shark would loose his advantage of hiding in the sand and the bone shark could be swarmed in seconds.

The UCR will grant all those who want to take refuge in Jellyshroom caves. However, I must remind you, the caves have a limit to how many fish can be in it. And with the extreme amount of fish in the GCSC, I would plan accordingly.

This is for all the members of this Council.

Since the time I took refuge on the Aurora during the war, I did my best to decrypt the messages of the Precursor Array. And *cough**cough* it revealed some interesting informations.

    - The "infection" mentioned on my report is caused by thebacteria known as "Carar"
    - It can *cough* infect a large host of species.
    - There's suggestion tha-*cough*, h, that the bacteria is not native of this planet

As of the previous report, the Array determined I'm infected. There might be a *cough* <unninteligeble, coughs, liquid falling> ah, there might be a reason why the Carar was brough here, inside the bases.

Beacause of this, I'm asking for unrestricted access to any and all Precursor-related sites, as well as any and technology and research already conducted on them. I'm also informing that I'm dropping off the Presidencial race, for the reason that this sicness caused by the Carar advanced too much for me to fight it.

Yes, I-*cough,cough,cough* *wheeze* I-I'm dying from it. These green pustules already appeared. On humans, advanced stages of the infecction leads to blood loss via open ways on the body: mouth, ears, eyes, nasal cavities, and others. Even know I'm dictating this because I'm too weak for anything else.

Minister @Jamezorg, I'm placing all that's left to continue the research, and helping my now AI, to continue the research. Destroy what can't be utilized benneficially.

As for the Shoal, I hope you have a slow and very painfull death due to the Carar, you mother-**** lunatics. That's what you deserve. Every last one of you.

    @Casual_Player @phantomfinch

The Shoal was the first to contract this disease, it appears, due to their proximity with many Precursor bases. We contracted it from their number during battles for in our waters, and I suppose you contracted it from them too. We have seen many other fish with this bacterium already taking hold, and even our people are slowly dying from it. We need as many reports on the bacterium as we can, from all nations and parties.

We can't risk squabbling at the moment. We'll take this drone, although we will not keep it for longer than we need to. If it puts an end to the bacterium I don't care if it's technology.

OH GODLEN I FEEL IT NOW

It may indeed seem that we have been breeding Reapers due to the sheer amount of Reapers that arose during the war: the truth is that we simply brought them up from the Dropoff. Many Reapers live down there, in little caves dug out on the side of the cliff. We were sending them back as we speak.

The truth is that very few Reapers live in this area. But when there’s too many Reapers in one place things get violent. More violent than a Reaper mating ritual, and that’s saying something. That’s because we Reapers enjoy deep waters, it gives us a lot of space, and the more space we have the less violent we will be toward each other. Thus now that the war is over the Reapers are being sent back down to their own homes. So please do not propagate that we have been breeding Reapers. It takes many years for a Reaper to be fully developed, whereas Biters take only a few days, mating and all, and can be done in swarms.

Thus your swarms must be lowered to manageable levels. And that means we either need to hunt them down to manageable sizes (with the exclusion of important figures such as yourself) or banish them to the Dropoff where they will die anyway, either from Reapers or from those far larger and deadlier.

I’d choose the former. I’ve been down there and seen the monsters. You don’t want to go down there.

As for Stalkers being a food source, another lie propagated by your Shoal. Our only food source was your Biter minions.

The EPCA is getting the ignorance vote.

Voters, inform yourselves! The EPCA let this uprising occur and let their own be used against others. Their representative has yet to be called back up to service and they have much to answer for. Don’t waste your vote on those who can’t even be there when they’re needed the most.

Sorry, @phantomfinch , it actually looks like you're gonna have to choose. @ResolutionBlaze , how many of them do you think will need to be dispatched of?

We don't want this to happen, Shoal, but the NVP is a powerful ally, and an even more powerful foe. We don't want to get on their bad side. Plus we have work on the bacterium to do, and this presidential race; we can't have both of you on our backs all the time.

Shoal, looks like you're going to have to decide; banishment or death for half your people?

    Again, we are truly sorry.

Do not mistake this for a genocide. While it is one in definition, selective hunting is not done in large numbers or done systematically. It just means predators will choose Biters as priority targets when they happen to be a convenient food source.

Just like any normal hunting procedure for any predator, except that Biters will be prefered.

So, no more Mountain biome Biters? In-game, that would be amazing, I hate the little buggers the most when I'm getting out of the Seamoth, and they shred me up.

Sorry, off-topic. Please continue with the ethics of Selective hunting.
