i used to help run that server, most of the higher-ups except for the owner were morons.
anyways, the 50 levels stuff, and most of the other plugins that modify the way the game is played are mostly crap. i started playing ns way back when ns 1.0 was first released, and had to learn the hard way how to play it. most n00bs nowdays want to use combat as a crutch for ns, or even siege maps. but soon they find they are too lazy to go back and try to play a regular ns map, and **** about it when they finally have to play one.
i miss the ns only servers with the only mods that were on was amx or adminmod :/
I played NS for a very long time... rarely poped in to the forum... but heres my opinion!!!...
If a server host wants to put some mod on... that he thinks alot of people like... hes allowed to do so... if you dont like it... then dont join their servers!!!
simple as that...
I tried that extra level thing I think its okay... but it makes the games seem much longer... and makes me realize how much more I like the normal NS mod... (not the CO) I think the CO mod is fun once in a while... but its the same every round... almost... anyway... I understand why people like the extra level thing and upgrade thing... Because they want more variations... which the NS dev team has rarely added... well of cause the CO mod was a very big variation!!! and helped alot!!!... if they added a new alien... maybe some new upgrades That would be awesome...
But I know people will keep playing the extra level mod servers...'

okay the worst thing on the NS servers... are not the people who lame... its the people who say they are lame... The thing is, the serious gamers are lacking. And the gamers we have are annoying when ppl want to learn.
I was teaching a guy on my server (ns.evilsquid.net now an all NS server) and a guy named adf joined. I told him that we are tryin to learn marines here, so he turns on godmode, and starts raping the marine start. I was forced to end the game. Then he was telling me to turn to co_ because its better.
Now, not all co_ players are like this, but there are a few out there. Of course, there are immature ns_ players as well.
We just need more mature players willing to help out.
oh, my opinion on co_, though....scrap it or make it closer to ns_. Then ppl who want to learn can do so, and it will be easier.

Hot damn this slipped under my radar. None of my fan boys notified me of this wonderful post. To defend myself, I play on any combat server, even though I do prefer extra levels due to the fact I can basically become invincible with nano armor which I quite enjoy from time to time.
Anyway, looking at the hole, aka Prodigy from team Terror (leading NS team) who took a picture of killing me, a pubstar who really isn't that good. He mentioned my latest bans. If you scroll down the website you'll find servers that aren't extra levels. I can't get banned from the same server twice so I have to play on extra level servers. So I do believe that statement 'he cant take standard combat' is quite false.
So...what the hell is some terror member taking pictures of killing some pubstar anyway?
PS: In that picture he took, I recently joined the game so I was around lvl 2. I didn't feel like playing against lvl 8-10 so I just left. Sorry, but I wouldn't find that enjoyable.

I remember that day too! It was back when:
