Is This A Real Technique?

Or is this guy BSing.
Guy busts into Kung Fu while being bullied.
Language warning: as is typical with this type of fight, the first confrontation between parties is verbal. Expect some unnecessary cursing at the beginning.
I mean, it looks like a huge joke for almost the entire video. Then suddenly at the end, he one hit KO's that mother****** like it ain't no thing. That's when I thought to myself... "Is this for real? The video is way to real to be fake in my opinion, but is that stance and those moves for real?" Well this is a repost from another forum, and the person in that forum called his technique "The Five Grand Illusional Fists of Ancient China" but I thought she was joking, though she is Chinese.
Anyway the video is interesting, simply because you almost never see something like that. But if anyone knows anything about this sort of thing, which is possible since it's this forum and people here have varied backgrounds [...], just take a look at the video and see if you recognize his stance. I'm curious now and the site that hosts the video knows nothing about this sort of thing and just calls it Kung Fu.

I'm hoping it's real.
Although, this is probably real since that's what the whole basis of martial arts is, use the opponents moves against them and/or take out the mofo fast **** like.
Just look at him. The most active stance he gets into is one where he has his hands bobbing around at chest height. Then his attacks consist of overhand sloppiness and general wailing around. And it's punches at all ranges (kick range, punch range, and tighter ranges), no kicks at all.
Not to mention he's spent the first half of the fight hyperventilating from laughter. He had no idea what he was getting himself into, and no clue how to deal with one hit to the face.
*shoots flintlock at next poster*
argh, you missed... *dies*
Wish I still had my sensei's e-mail address, she'd be in hysterics watching that little brawl. Wouldn't call either overly competent... the blocking was a little, erm, random. And honestly, who in their right mind throws a round-house in a fight?
Nah, look at it again and watch closely. He dodges every punch, the flailing arms is just for show/a distraction/coincidence/whatever. Didn't look fake to me.
[aside]One time someone tried to bully me. I gave him 3 verbal warnings that I wasn't going to put up with his crap. He then charged at me, probably just to make me flinch... I kicked him in the groin when he came in range (this was at school--you can't leave visible marks... everyone knows that.) Nobody ever bothered me (physically) again.[/aside]
Back on topic, I don't think he "KO'ed" the other guy at the end of the video. I think he got one good lick in. The other guy is just shocked and humiliated due to the fact that his "sissy girl style" was not as leet as the other guys "oooooooh I know kung fuuuuuuu style"
The white kid was also a good head taller, probably slightly more muscular, and not mentally retarded. The fight was totally unfair, he should feel bad for hitting that poor boy so hard. I would've just checked him a few times in the chest with a front kick (whenever he'd charge. Kids like that don't learn the first 4-5 times)
I hope for Kung Fu boy's sake his instructor never sees this video. It's shameful.
"If you were my wife, I'd take you down a peg(notch?) or two."
The aggressor obviously had an issue with kung fu dude. Unfortunately for both of them, kung fu dude seemed to choose physical confrontation over avoidance.
You see trouble, you go away. Trouble follows, you warn and go away. Trouble continues following, you ignore, but watch. Trouble aggresses, you own, and go away. You aren't there to prove anything. If you want to prove your skills, take up Xtreme Fight Challenge, or go to a sponsored tournament. The streets are for Krav Maga, imo.
I'd argue both deserved to be taken down. The guy who got owned deserved to get owned. His fighting style was typical of the trash talker. 99% talk, 1% flailing. The sad part is how the trash-talker probably had more practical fighting experience than his counterpart (you can tell by how awkwardly he remains in stance. You're supposed to move around, not hobble around) and STILL lost.
Oh, and don't take me too seriously. For going on 4-5 years now I've been a tried and true pacifist. Luckily nobody's gone past following me after receiving a warning. Not sure if I'm bluffing or not (I know how to hurt people, that doesn't mean I want to, and it might mean I won't hurt them until my life is endangered)
He should have just smacked him like that from the off instead of poncing around like that. Dumb poser, I hope the next fight he's in someone smacks him while he's in the middle of doing his little dance steps.
*edit* I made a big-assed post where I did a 360 and decided it IS Tae-Kwon-Do, only to lose everything I wrote due to computer stupidness
To summarise though;
It LOOKS like he's using a Tae-kwon-do back-stance. This is really a defensive stance; most of your body weight is taken on the back leg. It is NOT designed for pursuing your "attacker" like the guy did (which is why he moves like an idiot), it is designed for staying put and waiting for your attacker to make the first move. He would have been far better off in the more traditional, less showy-offy fighting stance.
The punch he used to knock the guy down didn't look (to me) like a recognisable move; discipline and technique rarely last once the fists start flying. I suspect he just hit the guy really really hard.

What Easty said.
If you want artful moves and style, head for the Orient.
If you want your head kicked in, visit the UK.

Woah, that's crazy, another guy in another forum said basically the same thing, though he practices Aikaido not Tae Kwon Do.
he also points out that the guy rigidly sticks to his stance even when it leaves him vaunerable. He crosses his legs at one point, which would leave him open to being rushed.
personally, I think the stance was more of a 'warning' then a useful technique.. at least at this guys level.
though, it is funny
Can't pin down which martial arts style he's using, but it definitely is real. I'm pretty sure I saw that fighting stance somewhere....
What I do remember is most Chinese martial art styles definitely use their arms as distractions.
TBH, the other dude should've just smacked that guy to the ground instead of letting him use his 'Kung Fu'.
Seriously, is every oriental martial art to your average teenager Kung Fu?
EDIT : Mmmm I remember my dad teaching me how to knock someone out by using a palm strike up towards the chin. The forces their heads INSTANTLY angle upward causing shock to the neck. Can't remember which style it was though.
Maybe it's the same technique he used.
EDIT : Upon closer inspection it DOES seem like a variant of the technique my dad taught me....

Yeah. I don't know if KFG was real, but the guy he was fighting was a total ****. I could've kicked his **** at 12.
Isn't Kung fu just an umbrella term for lots of Chinese Martial arts? It could be anything really.

I still say it looks a LOT like a back-stance he's doing, although i'm sure the same stance could be found in several different styles of martial arts.
Also Tae-Kwon-Do is Korean. Kthxbye.
it dosn't look like anytihng real, it looks like he does KNOW some martial arts but is more just screwing with the other guy's head.
No one who actualy is thinking of selfdefence (or kicking the crap outa some one) is gona use a formalized stance like that, they are instead going to be in sometihng that looks alot like a boxer's stance. The foot work is just silly (doesn't look like any Tae-Kwon-Do footwork I know, but I have only been studying for a month now )
The one wierd thing is that he isn't weaing shoes in the second part of the video, and that is sort of a Korean concept (it is concidered rude to hit some one with your shoes).
Oh, and yes, kung fu is sorta an over arcing term for most chinese martial arts (more like there are types of kung fu).
Oh, and his punching is sloppy as hell.
It can't be Jui Jitsu, because he would've used an armlock or something, they hardly teach you how to punch at Jui Jitsu and a lock is easier.
If you look at his punches you can see he flails, hardly any control. This is best seen when he tries a hook (bad one really) and then flails his arm right back (which is stupid and ineffective).
Also when he tries to block, he blocks to the inside. One of the first things they'll teach you about blocking is to block away from your body because the attacker can still have some momentum. Also If you block to the inside you always have to sitestep to dodge the momentum of the punch.
Also just before they start punching he tries something and takes all his weight to his front leg, someone with just a little knowledge in martial arts would duck a low kick the lower part of his leg. He would be floored.
He might be a beginner who couldn't keep his head cool to remember the proper way of using his martial art. I don't think the attacker is knocked out just stunned from the punch. Good the the red shirt was winning doh, I hate bullies.
