    Yeah I played on one server... as a marine at first... it forced the marines to work together to get things done... and made us push for the last hive faster than marines usually do... I usually see marines sit on their butts and not push hard...

    I'd like to add, on the Tactical Gamer server with the Unchained Chambers.

    It's kind of funny, Sensory went from last chamber to always first. When you can only drop 1 of a chamber(And have level 1 and not level 3) - it is simply the most helpful to have. It also makes it harder to kill the gorges right off the bat.

    My gorge goes and drops a sensory by a RT, then drops the RT afterwards. Why? It makes it safer for my RT AND my gorge.

    Unfortionately, top clanners probably will never use this plugin unless it becomes part of the real game, because this sort of testing would just detreact from learning to be good at the "real" game.

    Exactly what rule am I violating? I just thought it was off topic and thought you might like to rethink what you put... I did not state that I was a mod or anyone with power or whatever... It may have been a little rude but I was trying to stay private and not be flame you in the forums, you could have just ignored it and thought of me as an idiot. I wouldn't have cared.

    You know what... nevermind, I reread you post and by unlocking a fourth slot... I read it as having a new chamber.... we don't need a fourth chamber, just build it in so that it is possible.... I am guessing you mean that you could have two movement upgrades and one of sense and defense, but that second movement would cost a ton of res.... You worded your post really funny and it isn't exactly very explanatory....

    I've been playing on and off since the release of NS, and I think this is a rather good idea. I'm always Gorge, but I never get Regen or Cara, because if I'm off alone building things then what's the point? Redemption is more useful, as I have a better chance to survive.

    Being able to satisfy all the members on the team, letting them get what they want would be most usefull. Personally, I'd rather get Cloak right away. It'd be safer for a Gorge if he could just run around a corner and cloak, then walk away and hide from the marines. Skulks, the main fighting force on most alien teams for a good 10 minutes or more, would be able to stand a chance against level 3 armor and weapon marines, as they wouldn't be walking targets that can't take more than 5 bullets.

    I love and totally support the original idea of this thread.

    Currently we have been running an ns server for a year now, and I would love to see this change added to pub gaming.

    I've played on a modded server last night, on both sides, and I really like the change. Even if Flayra doesn't make NS this way, I hope the mod catches on so more servers run it. Aliens now have multiple strategies, and the art of being a good comm is once again apreciated.

    This is a pretty good idea, the only problem is that with multiple aliens running around wildly with all these different upgrades, marines wouldn't know what to do to defend themselves.
    Marines have certain strats based on what upgrade the aliens pick first, such as:
    Cloaking -> Motion
    Defense -> W/A
    Movement -> W/A

    If there is 3 different upgrades out at once, marines will have a hard time defending themselves while getting res, so they can get upgrades to actually make defending themselves a bit easier..

    It sounds like a good idea, but its really not.
    There is a plugin to enable this, It's called Unchained, I believe. I was playing on the server today with it, I'm not sure where you can find it though.

    As it stands, the marine side will always get weapon/armour upgrades and MT anyway; they're not so much counters as they are standard tech selections.

    I also disagree that the idea is imbalanced; I've been playing on unchained servers and the marines win most of the time. They had to adapt their tactics slightly (forward observatories, moving in groups, launching major assaults on building hives as opposed to rambos with shotguns), but they've managed quite well.

    I also dont see any balance problems for so far. I played once on a unchained server as commander, I had no problem after I set a second obs up. People used more often cloaking and sensory chambers, but thats all.

    I agree with Ryo-Ohki on the first page. However, I haven't read all the posts in this thread, so if anyone have come up with something that's better but still allows diversity, I want that instead. Natural Selection needs to be a bit more varying, especially for us that have played it since day one... It's starting to get a bit boring actually.

    Well, I aint got time to read this whole thing, I read the firstpost. If it's not the same thing or if anyone else had the same idea, this is what I was thinking:

    You are allowed to build any number of each chamber per hive you have and the upgrades work like this:

    You jump into Gestation mode so now your an egg, while your an egg you select what upgrades and what lifeform if any from a menu and a different sort of menu from the currnt alien menu, you would need a meanu that lets you select how many regen parts you want or how many alderline parts and so on so this idea would need a more advanced menu than the current one adn the more things you select at once the more gestation time it adds to you, when you done selecting your upgrades you can hit the evelove button to start implimenting the upgrades and become the new lifeform, should also create an uption to use your last EVO config.

    So with 1 hive as long as you have the chambers you would be able to buy:
    1 Celerity and 2 Scilence ( Require 2 Movement chambers)
    OR
    3 Regen (Would reqire 1 DC)
    OR
    2 Redemption and 1 regen (Require 2 DC)
    or maybe
    1 Capracace and 2 focus. (Require 1 DC and 1 SC)
    So with 1 hive you are limmited to buying 3 pices of any upgrade at once.
    If you wanted to buy all 9 pieces from the same one chamber then a min of 3 of that chamber would have to exsist.

    With 2 Hives you could buy 6 peices of each chamber so long as at least 1 chamber of each type is built.
    So you may want to buy with 2 hives:
    3 Capra and 3 Redemp (but to do that you would need 2 DC)
    OR
    2 Regen 2 Capra 2 Redemp (3 DC's)

    3 Hives, you would get ability to buy 9 upgrades.
    Like:
    3 silence, 2 alderline, 2 Scent, 2 Regen and 2 Redemp (2 MC, 1 SC, 2 DC chambers would be required to exsist for that purchase combo).


    Tweek the prices a bit of its too much to have at once. Maybe make the chambers more exspsive and maybe possibly remove the 2 res cost of upgradeing.

    Whilst it would be cool to do, it strikes me as being too big of a change. The devs don't like major changes as it is, and as such simply unchaining the chambers seems a realistic goal.

    I really like this idea and I read it when it was first propsed... but yeah, it does appare to be a little too drastic of a change and not jumping to any conclusions, I think the unchaining would be the first step, then the fully customisable upgrades option should be left until later on...
    Would be nice to have a 3 Celerity, 2 silence, 1 focus skulk though with leap XD

    Problem being that most of the upgrades aren't balanced for that sort of thing. Silence and Redemption below level 3 aren't worth much, Cloak 1/Focus 2 would have almost no downsides, etc...
