    Nice idea. Better than that Blockscripts 1 they came up with. I know who I'm voting for next time. >:O

    Doesn't really apply.

    Alien strategy is not in a rut now... you can use just about any chamber for the first, but defense almost always comes second. At any rate, this is an old thread that doesn't apply to 3.01f.

    Besides, why do mp_unchain when you can just get an AMXX plugin...

    Why couldn't the NS dev team leave mp_blockscripts to an AMX plugin? Why not leave whole features up to AMX plugins??..

    Because then it becomes an official feature. And any bugs/balance issues, etc, that come up because of it are immediately directed to the devs.

    And they really don't need that.

    They've got their system and it seems they're sticking to it. If people want to change the entire flow of the game, then they should leave that to plugins.

    but you could say that many elements in NS, those of which are facets of the game, could have been left up to plugins instead or alternatively. It's not just how you perceive the situation.

    Saying:<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Besides, why do mp_unchain when you can just get an AMXX plugin...<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    Barring the details behind the idea of unchained chambers, I could also say "Why not consider mp_unchain as a facet of NS instead of a community effort?"

    Um... I'm not saying they couldn't have left certain things up to plugins... I'm saying they chose not to.

    Obviously, for things like blockscripts, they were willing to deal with the backlash that came of it. Same with any part of the game that they made official.

    In the case of unchaining the chambers, they either don't feel it's the direction they want to go (whether it's optional or not), or they aren't prepared for the issues that it will surely raise. And knowing this community, it'll bring up a lot of things.

    I'm not here to try to offer conjecture on why they did or didn't include something, all I'm saying is ... you have your plugin that does it for now, and apparently the team doesn't want to do it.

    So use the plugin and be merry.

    I think this would be a great idea as a server variable. Alas, it's already an AMXX plugin though, so it probably won't be implemented. As for why AMXX didn't have blockscripts, that's because it's now implemented into NS! Although it is very annoying and buggy (especially not being able to type +use into the console, and minimizing NS while you build <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> ).
