<span style='color:white'>*Artemis is already awake leaping from empty alcoves to walls.* "Nothing like some early moring exercise." *Leaps to the ground and comes to a stop.* "Mintika, we should not delay that duel any longer. Are you ready?"</span>

o_0 your really going to fight? well, i'll start rolling combat now... your fairly eavenly matched stats-wise though. heres your first round of combat:
crit block: <span style='color:white'> [your first attack is parried perfectly, leaving you open]</span>
<span style='color:red'> [you hit a shallow blow, that does not penitrate to do damage]</span>
edit: you reach the sparring grounds. thats probly important. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> what was crowded just two days before has become desolite, almost all having been called to fight.
<span style='color:white'>"I shouldn't of undestimated you. I won't do it again." *Lashes out with a claw, before backing away. Testing her defence.*</span>
cha, epoch. those are your stats. paras stats are str. 0 dex 2 con 1 int 1 considering that int doesnt really matter in combat yet the only real difference is your one point of str. versus 1 point in dex. considering how dex and str. work (i already went over it) who do you think has an edge? i certainly cant tell. well, from now until you tell me to stop i'm going to be posting straight combat rounds fairly often. if you want to do something other then straight attacking each other be sure to tell me.
<span style='color:purple'> "the nest is to the east, with many of the rougue gatherd in preperation of assault. the nest is buried in caves with a single narrow passage between them and our unity. the lerks held the passage from the hights until they were called to battle. none are left that hold it and even now they mashial an army to tear through the pass and assult us. this must be prevented. moreover thier queen must be taken, a difficult task at best. you may force yourselves through the pass to take her, or there are also deep passages through the ground that lead to her. We care not wich you do, only that you stop thier war band before it assaults the unity of the hive. the loremasters are in deep meditation and must not be stirred to defend themselves." </span>
<b>Yup, those are my stats, thanks Dea <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--></b>
<span style='color:red'>"Let us fight our way through the pass! We shall rip apart their forces and return with their queen, victors." *grunts as Artemis' claw connects, and slashes back as she leaps forward*</span>
close, you rolled +9 (relitive to para) in opposition. this means you rolled D80 damage. not quite a crit though.
<span style='color:black'> [you hurry down the path, and soon reach the narrow pass between the draug encampment and the hive. coming to the end of the pass you see the draug army. several dozen of them are in the mouth of the pass alone. as they see you, they attack and you are forced to defend yourself. you cannot retreat or go around them without allowing them to rampage down the pass and attack the hive.]</span>
<i>epoch and para duck and parry, each dodging the others blows expertly.</i>
<span style='color:white'>"Mintika, you should give up now. I sense enemies nearby." *Backs away parrying blows.*</span>

crits do not cause additional damage but remove damage caps. normally, everything over +10 in your opposition is wasted and provides no additional benifit. however, if you get a crit every point above +10 raises minimum damage 10%. ie, you roll a 20 and your opponent rolls a 10. your damage range is 10-100%. if you roll a crit to hit (20) and your opponent rolls a crit miss to block (1) your damage range is 100% so you will almost always kill. the odds of this is 1/400 and really cant be countered unless their stats are much higher then yours.
