    Looks good KFDM, but try and add some variation to the floor, and it would look so much better.

    I got bored, so i decided to pick up the hammer and see what i could do.

    and yes, i am aware that the spawn part is horribly boring looking, but at least its ceiling isnt flat

    I think you should scale that water texture up. It looks rather ugly atm.

    Has a certain "Quake gothic meets neoindustrial" look to it, which could be quite a nice theme to explore if it recurred throughout the whole map.

    The 0066dm.gif arch needs a trim at the top because the texture doesn't quite fit.

    The problem with the ns2.WAD is that your lighting has to be top-notch to inject life back into those grey textures.

    Huge Ready room but t looks nice maybe add some crates it would look nice.

    Crates? They killed Sava. They'd kill almost all NS maps. Add something more original in, use your imagination for different types of structures or machinery which are not crates.

    I've been playing around in hammer this past week. Compiled a few times(to get the lighting right) today for the first time.

    I know the floor in the MS is too repetetive, I'm fixing it as soon as I get time.

    Anythings else I need to change? I've ran out of ideas for the areas tbh..

    it needs to be a bit more obvious where that bright yellow light is coming from

    (find some way to illuminate those little lights on the ceiling)

    It's looking good KFDM. For WIP I'm guessing you are going to sort out the flat infestation on the ceiling. Only thing I really would suggest right now, is you red that room up a bit. Would be a nice hive with some pretty hard heavy red lighting, remember spot lights are your friend smile-fix.gif

    I don't know at what point you are at with your rework of ns_altair, but I was wondering if you had thought about using two distinct themes for the map? The textures you have chosen in general make me think of a submarine bulkhead, but they don't really suggest an area in which people would live and work, or use a computer. I think you could get a lot more bang out of your subject matter if you really broke it down between human frequented areas and maintenance areas. Just some thoughts.

    I agree with thaldarin, you need a good strong secondary colour. although its looking much better it still seems that your light colours are "the same". Once you get the lighting sorted you'll be flying._

    great hive room realy asome. I just wish to say that i still work on my map Co_bluebay,RR, MS is done (have to work on the selling), and the middle room (war room) have much work on this one. Some screens.

    First map myself and kyliegirl ever made, but i still feel its a bit ... bare on the walls

    any ideas what i can do to make it look less bare (keep in mind r speeds are around 500ish cause its not a very open map)

    Map is stargate themed and most of the textures are made by us.
    (all pics totalled is only 1.56mb cause i compressed them a tad)

    Interesting. Even though the quite basic architecture/brushwork doesn't really appeal to my eyes it's always nice when people use their own custom textures (although I'm not a big fan of generic textures). It reminds me of cs maps and as a ns- mapper I would say it lacks contrast. tounge.gif Best part of it..? Definately the gorge "painting". biggrin-fix.gif

    @KFDM: In the Hive area it'd be nice to have something from which the Hive is hanging. At the moment it's just hanging from infestation, and I'm not sure how structurally sound infestation is. Also the ceiling looks kinda bland, so maybe you can kill two birds with one stone.
