Will Black armor ever go on Steam as DLC sale??

would love to get 1 of those Black armor DLC skins

No, it is an exclusive to those who bought the game before there was even a game to play.

I understand why you wish it, I personally love it myself. However, it was something special handed out to people who supported the project early on. Allowing others to receive the Black Armor via other means would, for me at least, remove the value that it gives in showing that I and many others were willing to put our faith and money into backing this project in its earlier stages.

This is my personal perspective on it of course. If the Natural Selection 2 developers decide to make it a purchasable item, I will not try and stop them.

No -that's- not true.(It has only happened on rare occasion afaik when someones' asked a dev in person. And I can't verify those stories.) The Black Armour was given with the "Special Edition" preorder, that was only available during Summer 2007(?) and cost 40$. It will never be available to anyone other than the people who bought that edition of the game, and it was a one-off thing. A lot of people would be pissed off if it was made available to everyone.

Maybe a dev could confirm this so we wont have to have this discussion every day on the forums?

this was reversed, the map testers were never supposed to have black armor and don't have it now

You are incorrect. No testers have been given pax icons. Members of their clans picked up extra dlc flyers when they went to pax for them, which is nice of them. Sorry but you are mistaken.

I have been lurking around this forum since it was up and running leeching for info on game development since begining.Thou i didnt manage to get in in regular beta i was always happy to learn new stuff about the game and its progress.The "Black Armor" looks awesome in the game and thou i would love to have it im totaly against it being released as a DLC for masses.Dont get me wrong but it should stay a special reward for people that have invested in this game as the UWE-s way of saying thanks to all the people that took that "Leap of faith" in the early days when it was to be or not to be.Having this as a DLC would totaly undermine its purpose

I still remember the old DIFBA groups when preorders came (aka Did It For Black Armor) :)

Personally I never regret paying 40$ I did and would gladly support next UWE game when time comes.

I have the black armor but I pre-ordered it back in Jan of 2010, I believe it stopped soon after. And yes the price was $39.95

I will sell you my steam account (with black armor and about 20ish games) for 30,000 USD.

In other news, no they will not release it as a DLC because that would totally ruin the value of being an early supporter, basically spitting in their faces.

Just download the e.x.m. mod, not as good as true black armor but it is decent.

PAX icons weren't given out to anybody special, but a lot of people got extra cards from their booth to share, I gave away a few myself.

The black armor is pretty awesome, and I wear it with a sad nerdy pride as aliens rip me apart, but the green armor looks pretty sweet too, I often switch between the two.

Just download some mods from steam workshop... all my marines have black armor that looks even cooler than the special armor does :p

I wouldn't say I bought the preorder for the black armor but I do love that anyone who see's my marine in game knows I've been here since the beginning. Since I basically bought NS2 as a thank you for NS1 (constellation was over at that point) and didn't care if a game even got released it's nice to be marked as special somehow in game.
