    I'm expecting it.
Will be a little upset if it's not released.

New builds have been known to release either on Tuesday during alpha or Friday. Judging from the development progress page, if all goes well it might happen :P

I'm thinking no, since wacko said only yesterday (or was it today?) that he was pulling stuff together for the patch, which sounds like they need to test the whole package out a bit more before being sure it's suitable to send out.

keep cool all! I'd rather them release a patch that works than one that need immediate attention and side tracks them from adding in more content/features. I like many others am done with 185 but I can be patient.

Agreed... when its done its done. It doesn't make sense releasing the build full of bugs. Buggy builds won't attract new Players to prepurchase.

Koruyo, the amount of work done in the past 3 weeks is astonishing. Instead of being impatient, focus on the amount of fixes your seeing which no other build has had. Would you rather have a rushed 186 with issues left and right and unplayable? Or do you want a fine polished build to last you another month?

    Patience is virtue young man...

i think some of this has to do with the tournament also so they are trying to fix as much as they can before we start it

The tournament wasn't scoped into the development of NS2's release (at least from my knowledge). The reason why 186 is taking a bit longer than normal heavily has to do with the amount of work the PT team is putting in to help the developers realize what's broken. Everyone "dogs" UWE when there are things wrong with public builds but it is asking a lot of UWE to build/fix the game and thoroughly test it and find the flaws. It is the job of the Play Testers to complete this task and in recent weeks they have stepped up (as you can see by Flayras tweets yesterday) and provided UWE with everything they can possible ask for to create fixes.

Hope that helped shed a little light on things and why 186 took so long! Btw, If anything, Hugh should be utilizing his insider advantage and build the tournament around the anticipated release dates of future builds :)

It sure is! Let's hope that 187 doesnt turn into a red headed step child due to 186 stealing all the fame!

That only happens if you look at the patches as seperated entities instead of incremental changes, 187 will essentially be exactly the same as 187, just different.

Anyway, im really hoping 186 will get a good precormance boost :) havent played 186 at all because of 2 reasons mainly.
1 being the preformance hit and secondly is the massive amount of work im getting from school again, 2nd week now, 7 running assignments, 3 of which are for gamedesign :<
So im hoping to be able to jump into action again soon :)

I'm getting a 10-15% performance gain with 186. The real improvement is that your FPS doesn't go down after prolonged play any longer, as with 185. That's the real problem with 185. I'd get 70+ FPS on a fresh server reboot, but ended up around 20 FPS after a couple of rounds. No longer!

    oy rlly? :O
Excuse me for that, its getting pretty late and combined with my school work I'm starting to get a bit tired :)
I normally read by posts before posting them, but yeah, i just want to get my word out there and then go to bed right now ^^

Im wondering btw, does anyone remember me in a game with them? I'm beyond terrible with names and the likes, my ingame name is Dragon-Guard (what else ^^)
Mostly play on the HBZ or Armory servers
