Before if I saw one I would chase him down and even fire at him over other aliens to make sure he dies, but now if he ran away, I wouldn't even care, just continue on my way. It also gives aliens players less reason to actually choose the Gorge, I suppose I am just skeptical about the whole alien commander situation.
And I also understand that this is a new game, it's not NS1 but just from my standpoint as of now and my experiences this is the opinion I have formed, for all I know stressing less on killing the Gorge could be a good thing, hard to judge any of this really without playing NS2 yet.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I agree, lets wait with the problem list untill we get to test the game.
On the gorge waddle. I think the animation they showed in the video is the gorge WALK animation. The majority of the time in game will be the RUN animation which I conjecture would have the lovable hopping animation we've come to love :D This is just my speculation based on the fact that the other two alien previews showed distinct walking and running anims, while this one only showed a walking anim.

Well all of the other reveals didn't show a falling Gorge! :D
I have to say that I adore the new Gorge. his facial expression is perfect, and I love the yawn. :D I like how the belly has the same glow as the hive and how his flat nose has the look of a tool, which helps express it's building abilities.

I could imagine the taser doing tremendous damage due to it's mechanic of more damage vs Stationary targets, I.e Defense Curl.

I really liked the new Gorge, very nice model very well animated
I really liked its solom expresion that was awsome. This new "hide" ability is just right for the gorge too but id make it that its energy falls very slowly if it isnt under attack or we will get stand off and thats kinda lame imo.
As regards to ragdoll deaths im not a big fan, i find they look werid and tend not to be very intresting not to mention they are prone to having weird glitches with them.
+1 for gorge slide thats just too funny to miss out on.

I just remembered what I forgot in my first post. When the Gorge goes into its Damage Soak mode, I think the camera should definitely go to the 3rd person placed just in front/behind of the Gorge facing its armor. This would allow the Gorge to see where the enemy fire is coming from and when a marine is getting close.
Also, I too think the Gorge should be waddling more like a penguin.

Another thing about the belly, this means that in dark rooms you'll still be able to see the gorge's eyes and belly glowing and casting a small orange hue. Cool! It also seems that the spit 'glowing' on marines will make them easier targets like parasite in NS1.
The Gorge run animation is similar to the way it was in NS; sort of a gallop with the feet moving in unison. That animation isn't quite up to snuff yet, so we left it out.

Nice, I knew there was something missing. Thank you Max.
When he's in ball mode, I don't know if this is just me, but it seems as though his belly would go through the floor. That's assuming all his limbs are on the ground, but it's hard to say without a floor.

I hope the belly slide will make it in, I want to see a gorge sliding down a ramp and knocking over marines (gorge bowling, anyone?)

I hope someone will come up with a gorge luge map during alpha/beta.
Tusken Raiders, er, I mean Marines on the sidelines taking pot-shots at passing gorgies would also be a plus.
