But still, at least the cappers could have killed the medic, and then the spy because a medic wouldn't heal someone who didn't LOOK like a teammate... hopefully.
My greatest moment was as a Spy, I got behind a group of enemies, I think it was an Engineer, a Medic, a HWG, and two Snipers, and back-stabbed all of them in ten seconds. It was beautiful.
The best disguise I've found for the Spy is to be an Engineer, since they have a very legitimate reason to be running back and forth, and especially running in the opposite direction of the fight.
im having a very good time as the scout actually the bat makes such a nice ding on a heavies head.
really though my big issue is that tf2> my router and after a while it goes nuts and i end up with no incoming packets . this breaks steam because a network connection cannot be established to vac. so i have to:
go up stairs reboot router, possible modem as well depending. come back leave game, kill steam, restart steam rejoin now full server. yay...
also the heavy is pretty hot but not up to a level of ff rediculous. that takes a medic in support and uber charge
I thought the scout was worthless, but then I ended up playing him for a good portion of tonight and he's darn sweet =p
the double-barrel is quite strong, he's quite skinny and easy to not notice, and you can circle strafe like lightning. easy to catch up to people to bonk em with the bat too.

The game is brilliant but I wish there was a way for scouts to get past a sentry gun of any level. One in the intelligence room = no more sneaky case stealing for you! In TFC scouts could get past sentry guns by simply running too fast for them to track. Now they seem to be able to turn almost instantly in any direction which makes them a little too powerful, especially since scouts basically can't even hurt them.
It isn't that much of a problem really, since you can usually rely on your team to take them out for you, but it kind of goes against the point of the scout.

Played my first game with FF on yesterday, and it turned it into a whole other game. Detecting spies were much harder, since you have to be perfectly sure of someone being a spy before you shoot him or you'll end up with a lot of minuses.

The only reliable way of finding a spy on FF servers is to have everyone either attack or use VC a LOT. (yus, disguise can be removed via scout/spy, but it is a waste to have a scout or spy on Def)

Gah can't play anything above hl1 currently XD
Since my mobo has fried and I'm on my other pc, which has agp. Useless for my pci-e card. So I'm currently on 3000+sempron, 2GB DDR (from busted rig) and a measly 16MB onboard something something.
HL on 640x480x16its gets an awe inspiring fps range of 40-75fps (600r_speeds-200r_speeds). Maybe if I screw around with some settings of me flux capacitor to give me twice the jiggawatt, I can play TF2 2 2night <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
And <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
Also HW dude is my fav atm. BLASTING EVERYTHING TO PULP WITH LOTS OF NOISE IS FUN. Strangly I haven't played engineer yet, quite weird since that was the one which got me interested in the first place <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

The removal and rebalancing of the classes has changed it into its own unique game and it has such a great art style which actually makes it more fun. No classes have been removed, but they have been changed <i>to fit simplistic gameplay</i>. I prefer the Engy in TFC because he has grenades and I could grenade jump to hard-to-reach areas to setup my SG. I prefer the maps in TFC because there's more CTF. I prefer the pace of TFC to TF2.
But as a no-brainer distraction I prefer TF2 to both FF and TFC. It's dumbed-down, it's silly, it's funny and it's enjoyable. But because TF2 lacks that depth I don't see much room for it being played in a 'hardcore' fashion, it's just too simple. If I'm in a lazy-don't-wanna-think-too-much-gimme-something-simple-stupid-and-fun mood then it's a toss up between TF2 and NS Combat. If I'm feeling more on the ball and want a bit more of a challenge I'd probably play NS Classic or Fortress Forever or Source Forts.
there's definitely less room for individual skill, but there's more room for team skill I think. an uber player could get a lot done in the other TF games, but you need a team with synergy to succeed in TF2 I think, even in a pug. the medic/hwguy thing is only the tip of the iceberg.
though, here is some footage of some spy ninja craziness:

One of the classes that I am actually being disappointed in is the Demo. All he has are his 3 weapons, none of them are actually that interesting. His bottle is a standard melee, nothing going there. His normal pipes are ok, but they seem to be VERY hard to get to land anywhere except the edges of a room, and that makes them kinda useless when trying to go for area denial. His sticky bombs are fun, but are completely a one trick pony. Sure, you can set up to 8 of them at a time, but your ONLY option is triggering them all at once, and after that the only thing you have left is normal pipe bombs.
So you can get one kill.
They also suck for finding enemy spies as your normal pipes go straight through disguised spys (for that matter, they seem to go through normal enemies also).
demo is my second favorite class I think (at least in <a href="http://steamcommunity.com/id/DiscoZombie/stats/TF2" target="_blank">playtime</a>). sticky traps are often a guaranteed kill and they discourage people from crossing a line. the regular pipebombs bounce around corners and down halls just fine for my tastes, though the bounce pattern is a little more erratic than in previous TF games. I'd say his biggest weakness is his vulnerability to short-range classes like the scout and spy... though if they're trying to melee you, you can melee right back!
ON paper it should run it fine, but when it's not doing that annoying soundloop bug, it's either crashing my entire computer (nothing works, at all) on map change / joining server.
The 5 minutes I got on were fun, though. I love the running animations.

So finally the first cheaters/hackers/exploiters are showing up.
We were playing harmlessly on 2fort and suddenly the other team gets 3 captures in a row and win, first there's just lots of "what?" then it happened again and again and again.
