Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars Demo
<div class="IPBDescription">On Fileplanet</div><!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->
The demo itself is a pretty solid amount of gameplay as far as demos go. Those of you that choose to download the thing will have the opportunity to play through one tutorial mission, two campaign missions, and one skirmish map on four difficulty settings. Depending on the difficulty you play the game at, it could take an hour or more to get through the tutorial and game missions. Skirmish adds quite a bit of life to the party as well. There's only one map, but it'll help you all get to know the game.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I'm downloading this now (63%). I can't wait to watch the live action cut scenes... Ooh, the nostalgia!
Casting:
* Josh Holloway (Lost) will appear as a Nod Intelligence officer by the name of Ajay
* Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) will be cast as a character named Kilian Qatar
* Michael Ironside (Top Gun, Starship Troopers, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series) as the Global Defense Initiative's Lieutenant General Jack Granger
* Billy Dee Williams (Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back) as GDI Director Redmond Boyle
EDIT: * Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica) as Lt. Sandra Telfair
* Ivana Bozilovic (Wedding Crashers) as Kirce James

* Shauntay Hinton (Criminal Minds) as the reporter Brittany Bhima

I echo your sentiments, Michus. (83%!!)
Sawyer reminds me of Lost. therefore he should not be in C&C3
I doubt my computer can run this; can anyone with the demo installed let me know how it runs and on what system?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
2.6ghz, 1gb ram, radeon X800... runs perfectly, although the fights don't get that big in the demo. The ion cannon effect is pretty large though, and there was no slowdown with that.
I've gotta agree with Aldaris, sadly. It doesn't seem to do anything wrong, exactly, but there's nothing "woo" about it either.
But since I was planning on getting it solely because Kane is in it, this doesn't bother me much anyway <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Wait time: 15 minutes. It's been sitting at 15 minutes for an hour! D:
(I'm still moving through the queue though)
Maybe I'll get it someday, but didn't peak my interest enough with basically no new features or gameplay.
It appears to be quiet solid and polished, but like other people have said, offers nothing new. The biggest plus is the GUI, having access to making all units/buildings in the top right is very nicely done (maybe is has been done before, just the first time I have seen it).

Uh, heck yes it's been done before. I believe the first game to do it was Dune 2, which was back in 1992. So C&C3's not exactly innovative in that regard.
Fileplanet is a fail.

*was also in the que for exactly 15 minutes....for an hour and a half long D:*
Anywho, me likey more than supcom, only things I'm missing are the zoom and the formation move.

Totally different system. In Dune 2, you had to click on the applicable building, then click on the building's icon. The game is paused, and you scroll through until you find the unit/building you want, and then you click on the build button. You are then taken back to the game. C&C3, it's a series of tabs, for every choice you have in the game in front of you, without messing around.

One of you totally needs to be me a slightly newer puter. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Your missing out! ^_^

True, however I personally found the gameplay refreshingly "retro". It feels like s a throwback to an era of cheap, disposable units where you fling them at the enemy with resulting in a "down-and-dirty" feel. You don't rely on any "hero" units, nor do you have to micromanage your units much.
As said before, supcom is the better rts but this was pretty ok.
so is the game fun?

It's Command & Conquer.
That is, it feels like C&C, not just another RTS (like Generals felt). I don't quite know what makes it just *feel* like something, but it does. So if you liked other C&C games, you'll like this.
Plus it has the old live action cut scenes back, which were frankly the only reason I ever played C&C (not that I don't like it, I'm just not that big an RTS fan).
With Michael Ironside. And the original Kane.
Another thing I miss terribly was Westwood's first and only MMORPG, Earth and Beyond. It's just one of those really, really unique MMORPG that no one wants to try to make. The market is flooded with all this Fantasy bullish right now...
I'm not getting the demo (crap PC and connection) but I came across this and thought it might interest some of you: <a href="http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2007/2/28/7261" target="_blank">Play as NOD</a> in Skirmish mode.
