If you aim the bomb up and shoot it, it will drop and bounce off of you and float a bit before popping. Kinda cool.

I only blame the com when they go shade hive first.

wont the comm see an onos if he has an obs?

Where did they attack from? In my experience, attacks do not appear out of thin air, usually the aliens need to take some time to gather up, evolve into gorge in the next room before they initiate. Maybe a commander who is more actively scanning for…

Gotta love that celerity gorge

Yeah, chasm does seem to be too powerful for matines, the only 2 approaches for aliens, from lava or containment are firing ranges for the marines atm.

Fantastic videos tyrsis. You're guides are probably the sole reason why I've gone from an average player to one who consistently tops the scoreboard in [Video] Lerking About - Tips and Tricks Comment by john_wesley March 2013

As overpowered as the shotgun seems, I think it's needed to give something to marines that lets them "stand their ground" and make aliens actually afraid to engage in head on fights. As a fade you can easily tank a rifle marine without any fear of g…

The GL could use a melee attack.

How about a very powerful siege breaking 4th hive ability? Obviously this would not work on veil but it would work everywhere else.

You guys are being a bit hard on Hugh here. I think the post was meant to be a general overview of some of the win ratios as well as a brief discussion on how we might start thinking about these numbers in future discussions rather than being an dep…

If a marine and a skulk see each other from across a hall at the same time, who is going to win the engagement?
It depends. If the skulk decides to charge the marine, I'd say the marine will probably win. But the thing is, the skulk does… -
It might not be server hopping. I think due to the round based nature of the game people just feel like taking a break and stop playing after a long round (40 min+).

Bugs becoming features you say? Sounds exactly like uwe's design philosophy.

imo the worst kind of comm trolls are the ones that don't show themselves until later in the game, the other day I played a game where 10 minutes in on veil, we had no upgrades, sentries everywhere, and phase gates going from control to topographica…

Lerks turn the dynamic of the early game upsidedown. In the early game, 1 marine can kill 1 skulk quite easily. Later,1 lerk can kill a solo marine quite easily.
Marines just need to move as a team to counter this. Forward armories also … -
What do you guys think about getting a phase gate in courtyard as marines when starting in cafe/terminal?
I've found it allows the team to pressure stability/maintenance and locker simultaneously while keeping aliens from being able to p… -

Part of the skulk's strength is its ability to out maneuver marines and attack places where the marines aren't defending far behind the front lines. Skulks should always be using hit and run tactics to undermine the marine economy … -
I know it may be somewhat counter to the atmosphere of NS2, but I'd really like to see some outdoor areas like crevice where I can fly freely with the lerk. We have a dedicated flying class for the aliens, and yet there aren't very many areas can be…

This post makes me think of the nano vents back when they didn't have covers.
And if by any chance they're watching this thread I want them to know I miss them very much and want them to come back. -
Lerks were really good at holding off exos, they could roost in some dark corner and hit them with spikes- almost like defensive fire batteries that needed to be cleared out by ground troops before the direct fire support could move in. Some spots w…

New players and gorge spam is going to hurt the alien win rate.
As for the changes to skulk movement- it seems in line with how skulks should be played, using hit and run/ ambush tactics. If a marine has a clear los on you at distance yo… -
I'm not sure that the lerk received a straight nerf- while the spikes do make it far easier for a marine to trace a lerk, they do provide some disorientation which may make it more difficult to trace other targets making the lerk a stronger support …

I for one am excited for the full gorge teams when everyone wants to try out the new tunnels and babblers.
