Even though this thread is all nuts, I will agree with one statement. NS 1.04 WAS the best version of NS1. It really was all downhill from there, especially with the emphasis on shorter games. Longer games are more fun, everyone knows this.

Yes. I clicked apply changes. It will keep the mouse sensitivity until the next map, then it resets it.
I have make keybinds for the sensitivity I want since the game refuses to keep it at 1.3

Alright, I managed to figure out how to do it. I used the HLDS in my half life directory in steam apps and with command line arguments got it to run an NS server. however, it only appears on my LAN and not on the internet. Any ideas why this is? …

Or rather, Steam no longer uses HLDS update. So I'm not really sure what to do here.

Also, i hvae looked for but can't find a list of proposed changes/fixes for 269... Somehow I think they'll continue their intentional destruction of everything fun about NS2. and their attempts to make the game less fun for newbs...

Since this update, it now takes 15+ minutes to pracache. It went from about 1 minute to 15+. I used to be first to load a new map and be in the ready room, now I'm always last. WTF. please rollback to 267... that seems to be the consensus online…

Honestly I can't comprehend this. The game was balanced as is. Aliens and Marines both had a good shot on all the maps. I've won and lost as both on every map in nearly equal measure. Why radically change everything and force everyone to relearn…

Does not detect a valid steam install. Steam is installed, as is usual in windows 7 x64, in program_files(x86)/steam

I notice the same problem. My mouse isn't limited to the window, it moves out into the next monitor. I have to turn off dual monitors when i play. Pretty annoying. Anyone found a solution for the mouse problem?
