I'm not saying that the hole community sucks.
Just every time I decide to play I get into teams that seem to be really brainless, and that's the reason why I posted it. :P -
The game is still fun, but what keeps me away atm are the people that play it.

Games in the 90's didn't have shitty workshop, but individual Server direct downloads.

Everytime you join a server that has mods it downloads them to a workshop folder even if you haven't subscribed to the mods yourself.

sh_chatbox should be it in the Console of course.
It's part of Shine but never heard that it crashes whole clients. -
Both were in the Appdata folder, but I don't know the equivalent for Linux.

On a related note I had the same starting it on windows.
It was fixed by deleting the cache+workshop folder.
I don't know if that helps you guys on linux tho. -
Play on UWE Official Servers they don't have mods on them.

Disable mods like alien vision and other old mods, since the shader file format has changed.
What happend to your blink could be mod related too. -
You can subscribe to them when you click get mods in that menu.

@AceDude It's pretty bad that most servers are ruledout just by having admin mods active.
Shouldn't there be a mod whitelist for Shine and DAK? -

Looks like some mod error please delete your workshop folder in the ns2 appdata folder.
And of course unsubscribe from all mods so that they don't get redownloaded right away.

Had that spam in the console also after clearing my shader cache and recompiling it worked.

Your only options are unsubscribe from all mods, and don't play on any mod servers like the official ones.
A real option in the settings would be nice tho
