Thanks for this, it solved my Subnautica-crashing-my-entire-computer problem.

I was having problems with the game making my computer hard-reset for the last week or so (about 70 hours in). Got to the point where trying to load my save would shut off the computer as if it were hit by a power outage. Clearing Cell Cache data (f…

If they've got all that... why don't they actually use it. None of those factors play into the behaviour of most creatures at all. We've got... Stalkers using curiosity I guess, and Sandsharks using hunger... possibly? Maybe the sh… -
I'm going with "no map". This is an exploration/discovery based game first and foremost. An automap actively undermines that, by simply showing the player where stuff is they've missed.
It also takes away the environmental immersion crea… -
Yeah, conceptually it's great. In practice it's worthless. Such a weird way to phrase the question though - "Do you use it?"
You can't use it the way it is now, so I'm not sure what that even means. It's definitely not worth havin… -
That sounds fine to me.

You've seen whittling knives break because they were used wrong. They don't break from wear and tear, they break from operator error. If the knives in game broke because you, the player, used them wrong - then that would be a chall… -
If you want the excitement of a limited use weapon, do something interesting like give us a melee range "bangstick" that works like the seamoth defense grid in that it instantly drives creatures off, but which can only be recharged back at the base.
-
Again, a high quality knife breaking in the timespan of this game is about as far from realistic and far into "gamey" territory as you can get, especially one with advanced construction techniques like the knife in game. Heavily used knifes in real …

If we have to replace it with something, I would suggest, if we have any sort of maintenance, it be this:
Add a "nanomolecular edgekeeper" machine at the base that consumes a diamond in exchange for giving your knife a … -

The knife is the only resource you DO need to replenish, and doing so is fairly trivial. It's not "one small step", it's "the final step" - the game is obviously not that sort of game.

"Too Easy" is exactly what I'd expect a generic script kiddie to say if they managed to infiltrate the site through some obvious and well known exploit.
I don't think it means anything beyond that.

I think you want to read the post before mine. From what I understand they are normal players that got a promotion to some kind of inside track, but I dunno. I am not overly concerned about the lantern fruit because it felt like a … -
Lantern fruits had problems, but those problems were based more around their role and niche being poorly defined than them simply being too powerful. The fix didnt fix that because the "playtesters" made things up in their feedback instead of trying …

Doesn't the game auto-pause if you alt-tab out? So that's not even an option.

You had this time all along, though. -

You're gonna spend the 7 seconds between each and every titanium ingot out harvesting resources? Only craft a single item every time you return to base?
That sounds like you'd have to go back to base a lot to make any p… -

And here's an example of someone claiming it makes the game harder. Somehow.
Since we've got you here can you perhaps explain the logic? Because it doesn't make any sense to me. Waiting is pretty much the easiest activi… -

... what? It was obviously a dev decision, no one at any point said otherwise. I said it most likely wasn't *just* a dev decision. I mean, obviously it wasn't their their original design, that much isn't controversial.

Yes they did. -
I should say that right now I am definitely a strict "no". If there were mechanical changes introduced that involved crafting times being a part of real gameplay, I'd be open to the possibility - but there's no indication that sort of thing is in th…

This is a perfectly valid reason, so long as there is no superior reason to do it. It's a more valid reason than "realism", which is supposedly the complaint that got it added to begin with. -

Okay, I'm sorry for doubting your intent initially. To be honest, this is certainly an option. For my game that I mentioned earlier, this is exactly how we resolved this issue - we added extremely robust configuration and mod suppo… -
Haha, EnglishInfidel did you seriously just deride me for telling the devs what to do and then immediately state how glad you are they did what other people told them to do (I assume you were one of those people, but maybe they were just kindred spi…

If you set everything to take 20x the time listed, it would be better though? I mean, not as good as it was when it was quick, but better than it will be after this change. Genuinely long craft times (at least when combined … -
