    What is causing the flame/explosion in the first shot?
    It looks like the guy in the front is attacking the resource node, but he is too close
    to be using a grenade launcher... And the flame seems to be a lot brighter and less
    dispersed right next to him.

    Nifty screens, but you're just scratching the surface here (and I include the playtesters, who have not seen a lot of the final 1.1 visual changes yet either). As for people's questions on the resource model, still being worked on. Never fear, it will kick your rear.

    Plenty more testing, tweaking, bug-hunting, etc. to go, so don't expect it out by Thursday or anything. But this build is looking like the best NS ever...

I've seen sooooo many people just foaming at the mouth for custom crosshairs, and when we finally get around to making some official ones for NS, the first comment I see is that someone wants to keep the old, HL default. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> Oh well, it's still something that can be customized if people want.

    By the way, the screens only show 1 of the 6 crosshairs, and it's more visible than the screenshot would suggest.

    If you look at the commander mode screenshot, you can see that the menu system's been changed a bit. Dropping ammo and health are now their own buttons, and not in the "Equip" menu anymore.     I noticed the overhead map in of the marine screenshots (not the commander mode, but regular marine view) and it looks just like it does now in 1.04. In the version 1.1 information thread, Immacolata writes:

    Ah, nothing is more fun then playtesting times, when everyone suddenly starts getting visions and starts asking the roacles about the future of NS. Speculations arise and imagination is at an all time high.

    Nice screenshots as always. Especially the changes in commander mode are what I'm looking forward too, anything else is nice, but it is like adding an extra nice set of new clothes to an already filled wardrobe. It justs so good already that I wouldn't miss the new changes.

    One thing the new hype reminds me off is the old saying NS once was all about... the one slogan stuck in my mind from the beginning and always connected to NS from that day on:

    Relic25 this is excellent news but a question: occassionally I am forced to play clan games where the server enforces file consistency. Will these new, rear-kicking crosshairs be part of the whole NS package and as such allowable on consistency servers?
