Millions of fish!

For the past couple weeks, the safe shallows has accumulated obscenely large schools of fish. Like, in the tens of thousands (or potentially millions) range, and their numbers seem to be growing over time and encroaching on my base. It's pretty much a solid wall of fish (that whittles down my seamoth if I try to pass through it). Trying to get through the safe shallows results in a framerate drop to one frame every few seconds.
I'm assuming this is a bug. Has anyone run into it and been able to solve it?

How does one delete the cache?

Does the Seamoth look a little freaked out to anyone else?
He didn't, trust me.
How do you know? And why should we trust you?
Will cleaning the cache get rid of them without seriously altering anything else that's important?
It's true. While watching the BBC series Planet Earth on my computer, the one scene my video renderer simply couldn't handle was the locust swarm. That swarms of things are hell on video cards is a universal truth, and I can't even imagine how slow the computers in ancient Egypt must have been trying to render all those locusts.
Clear CellsCache, that will reset resources not stored by the player (except floating lockers, it will unfortunately nuke those).
