I myself find that awesome, but I do agree that it is a bit awkward and a little gamebreaking for some people. Doesn't really add to the gameplay, and I understand why some people wouldn't want to have this. Therefore, I think it should be a feature which can be turned on or off in the menu of those who bought pre-v.1.0.

Absolutely not! The developers could give it a harness with automated laser turrets, a gas pod defense system and a remote GPS navigation tracker, and I still wouldn't take it... no matter how useful it could be, that face makes just me want to punch it. It's like those pug dogs people have, which to me are more ugly than they are cute.
Now if they could make a Crashfish pet that was like the Cutefish, I would take that in an instant... that little guy is adorable!

I know... I feel bad to feel that way towards them, but I don't outright hate Cutefish or pugs. If I saw either of them outside I would be nice to them. But the fact still stands I don't like them and wouldn't keep either one as a pet.
That feedback is really old... it was responded to by the team 9 months ago.
I have to agree with Tarkannen on that one... Not a fan of the cutefish but people like it I guess. I will never understand why people find pugs so cute, they kinda freak me out a little bit with the bugout eyes. I'm allergic anyway.

Well then the thing wont stab you because obviously that field that traps your hand is scanning your body for organic tissue to determine whether you're actually a creature or not, and without it Fred (I'm calling it Fred) won't know whether you're a piece of metal that has stabbed the button due to an inconvenient explosion or two. What if you were, and Fred badly injured his little spike... thing...?
But if the Precursors have a field to trap your hand and scan if your a lifeform... why do they need to extract samples from you using a spike in the first place? Surely they're more advanced? 0/10. Literally unplayable.

Has the DNA Sequencer been added to Experimental mode? I've staved off from playing Exp to save some small fun surprises to enjoy, but I really wanna try out the new serums when they become available.

Hmm, I'm surprised the focus lies so much on the moon pool (without mention of the vehicle mod station) when there's also a power cell charger to consider. It's already of limited use.

I find that post rather helpful. I still like Subnautica, but I have not touched it for two months really for different reasons. I really used to dive in and just explore, see what is new, until I reached the current end.
However it was slowly turning a bit stale, whenever I start new, stuff is getting harder to find (like the Moonpool and the modstation) and the result is not me taking more time for each biome, but me trying to rush the milestones ever faster to reach the new depths. Then I am hitting the next milestone and a wall.
What I am getting at, I used to just park my Seamoth somewhere in the Kelp Forest and sit there. Or explore the jellyshroom caves to the fullest. Now when I want to do this, I have to worry about my hunger and thirst (why can we still not craft nutrient blocks?), I need to have access to the seamoth upgrade console since I can't go deep.
Then again, while the safe shallows (especially), the kelp forest and grassy plateaus have a huge amount of things to explore and use, the other biomes are just very empty and untempting to explore.
That said, Subnautica did a lot to ease up the difficulties with the farming and the battery recharge, so you do not need to completely turn your shallows into a Wasteland.
