Skins in "Costumization" menu if you are on a server (not just ingame).
Badges on hive.naturalselection2.com, login with forum account if I'm not wrong.

@PoNeH‌ no harm trying the pagefile size increase! If its to low you would experience issues, on any windows.
Mines waaay to big as I like to account for leaks. ;)

...it's only if you are ingame.

    QA fail lol

someone please report this as bug.

That screenshot is of the main menu. That is not in-game.

Join a server, then press the escape key and select the customization menu option. This is not a QA fail, it is a reading comprehension fail on your behalf...

it is poor quality assurance AND usability to require a player to join a game in order to see the skins that he/she paid for...what if there is a network issue or a bug preventing the user from joining?
then he/she has spent money on something that is not accessable to him/her.
    THAT IS a QA fail.

If you have a network issue you can't play the game.

It is not technically possible at this moment to provide model previews in the main menu, which is why it's only available ingame.

So I agree with you, this menu option needs to be more present and it will be. The customization/skins system is going through a re-work at this very moment. Stay tuned!

It's a limitation of the engine that has existed for some time. We'd like to improve it in the future and hopefully we will be able to.

Any purchased skins you do have access to can be set up as soon as you're on a server, and that can include a local listen server (even the tutorial).

Probably you should get some simple skin options back to the main menu until Costumization can be done there aswell? Just to clear out all these misunderstandings. joohoo_n3d isn't the only one. Or consider a grayed out version for Costumization and Vote in your main menu rework.

I don't know what you've done, but hit reg is total BS after 267 on pretty much all servers, be it normal, hacked 40 player or combat. 3/4 bites and hits just do nothing, 3 bites AFTER a parasite hit do nothing on a game start where no one has any armor, wtf. It's pretty much impossible to play.

Hit registration has been improved due to the new physics and more stable framerate. If you're having trouble hitting targets, it might be you need to get used to these new things.

Actually, I have experienced similar issues in 267. I've never had hit reg issues like this before, but now I get the skulk cries and blood decals a lot without the draw damage popping out. I noticed on Wob's stream that he got it a lot as well, so the phenomenon has been recorded if you check out his stream. Wob's case was even more severe than my own.

That being said, I have not experienced hit reg issues with alien.

It's been pretty tough to judge if the hit reg is worse or better with how many different server setups there are atm. :/

Well, my framerate has TRIPLED, so thank you CDT! Great job.

I'm seeing the same BS across all servers regardless of their config. It also has nothing to do with getting used to anything. If i parasite and make 3 bites in a very early game, there is no bloody way that marine is walking away (and i'm sure there were no medpacks). Instead i was continuously dying for not getting the kill i should get.

I haven't had any problems with hitreg at all

I have to agree, something is off with the hitreg. I notice it really bad at times with the shotgun.

maybe something feels off now because the hitreg is on now. You're used/adapted/normalized the way it was before and now that same lead in won't cut it?

Its as if your "gun sights" have been adjusted. You have to get used to the new sight picture?

Is the reload delay a feature or a bug?

If its a feature, it is too long of a delay, please reduce it. If its a bug, OK.

    Thank you.

Turn on the hitsound feedback (options/sounds). Gives you accurate feedback (the visuals are much harder to follow).

In general, hitreg for games like NS2 where you have targets moving as erratic and fast as in NS2 makes it very difficult to be certain that hitreg is correct - you would need full-game 100% accurate recordings for that, and a client with rewind/slow-mo capacity.

What I _can_ say is that there is a lot of people that have no problems killing me, either as marine or alien.

So hitreg can't be completly screwed up.

The hitreg discsussion is old as NS2.
If the hit reg is so bad, why are some players (mostly premium division) hitting nearly everything.
And it cant be only positioning in this case.
Positioning helps for sure but you need the aim to take advantage of it.

    i think its more like:
"The game runs so smooth now and im still not hitting skulks? wtf. It MUST be the hitreg"
Well, maybe the aim isnt good enough?
Oops , something like that hurts the ego for sure.

And if we would have 100% correct hitreg, then the brown skulk textures are the reason people didnt hit them.
Its always easier to blame other players, the com, the hitreg or whatever.

I stopped playing NS2 a few weeks ago (new house, no internetz) and couldnt hit anything for the 1st few games.
But my aim is slowly returning now, although at 1st i thought it was some techproblem / hitreg thing.
Small things (little patch differences, lack of play) can really have a huge impact on aiming in NS2, its so fast and precise.

It was not the case before B267? I knew premier players were too bad for shooting.

But seriously, it's getting better so I agree, if there are some problems, servers or aim are the causes.
Just need to play with correct performances & a smoother game (pretty hard for some people huhuh).

The game is far from smooth, in fact it's hardly any better than it was. 90% of people are clearly under influence of some heavy duty placebo effect here. And my aim is just fine (for the millionth time). When you are pretty much humping a marine from behind and not killing it, something IS badly wrong and this just wasn't happening before 267. And i don't need some stupid hit sound to know what i'm biting. If a player model is in the center of the screen and you're biting, clearly you can't be biting a fuckin ground or wall, can you?

Before it was clear, parasite, bite bite and the enemy died. Now it's parasite, bite bite bite bite why don't you just fuckin die already!?!?!??!!?!??!?! ragequit... And this wasn't just once and on one server, i tried everything from servers with 40-50 ping up to servers with 180 ping. And it was exactly the same pattern. It seems a lot worse for a skulk, but i've had several really idiotic moments where i could clearly see a blood splash from a shotgun at skulk and it did pretty much nothing.

Personally, this kind of things was already on the game before B267. I mean, even on this build, this is not better, still a strange & boring bug and not so rare. So many people found it a long time ago but it was not added with the latest build. I know seeing blood from the ennemy but doing no damages is just very frustrating but what, it's not gonna change soon I guess.

And about that hitsound, it appears that you can even get this bug & have your computer/game producing that hitsound though.

did you check netstats? Sounds more important to me.

And yes for most of us the new patch IS a lot smoother. Nothing placebo about it. We dont all play with 120Hz screens & eyes which notice every freaking 10ms spike.

    @RejZoR‌
Please get data for this.. we cannot reproduce what you are experiencing so we need you to.
Enable net_stats in the console and take at least a 30 fps 720p video of the issue with fraps or other recording software and link it here.

Don't bother doing this on any server with over 24 players.
You have the same exact CPU and OC settings I have so i know you can afford to do this, performance wise. Hell, you can even ask a friend to try to reproduce it in a private server for hours on end.
You might just find when you frame scrub your own video that you have been missing... I know i have when i suspected this.

To be clear: There IS a reported case of a hitreg issue that is being looked into, but it is pretty specific and is an edge case / rare, and cannot be exploited.
So any data you have to offer besides your own verbal recounting would be very useful to us.
    Thanks.

Not sure if recording of HD video behind a game that already plays less than ideal performance wise will help me reproduce the issue. Then it actually might become a case of actual bad aiming due to poor framerate.

I'll check net_stats though, maybe i can spot something there on the fly.
