i can't imagine this game being played with controllers. marines will need aim assist which would give (I'd think) a very unfair advantage. not to mention the troubles of sluggish lerk flying and fade teleporting controls.
They have said a fair few times that there priority is getting it developed and realesed on the PC first. Then after that they may consider doing it for consoles. That is not a yes or a no but you can always keep your hopes up and hope it sells well on PC.

It wouldnt be unfair if console gamers had separate servers to play on.
Contrary to the belief of certain acne-faced PC nazis, proper fast paced fps games on console are actually possible, without the need for autoaim and similarly cheap concessions. The style of play is vastly different, though, as console gamers put more emphasis on flow and rhythm than on spinning around like the Tazmanian Devil himself. Games like CS where you shoot an enemy in the head with a sniper rifle while strafejumping across rooftops are not made for consoles, of course.
Anything will to be done to make money if you ask me, although i highly disfavor playing any first person shooter on consoles.
What I really want to know is will UWE advertise their engine once its completed. A ######load of money can be made from that but i always feel it just increases the competition :/

It would be impossible to command on a console.
Also, 100 other reasons why this is a PC game instead of a console game.

I think a decent control scheme could be devised. The comm would be tailored for a console a bit, but you could still have the rich set of NS options there.

While I don't doubt UWE's ability to produce a high quality port of Natural Selection 2 to the xbox 360, I can't say that I think that it would be worth the effort. The console is nearing the end of its life cycle, and I'm sure that Microsoft would would pretty much beg UWE to incorporate some kinect bull###### into the game. I, personally, wouldn't bother with it.
A more interesting prospect, simply for the sake of argument, would be developing a port of NS2 for the Wii U. Commanding with the tablet controller could be interesting. One thing at a time, though. NS2 for PC first :)
fooooook consoles. always out of date and EVERY FPS on the consoles do have a type of autoaim or snap lock ... 2 analog stcks.. like driving a ######' tank... gheeey

what if said begging involved $ome $ort of advantage?
I feel stupid talking to games, but i did use the kinect feature of me3 for party attacks. was easier than using my glitchy shoulder button. :o
if addon voice feature makes it faster, easier then why not?

The geniuses in Marketing have already figured this one out. "We have found a fresh and innovative way to extend the product lifecycle of the Xbox 360 by re-releasing it this year in a discounted form." Translation: Instead of making a new console, pay us for this 10 year old technology.
We're in the business of bringing a wonderful team play experience to as many people as possible. Obviously consoles bring limitations to the table. If NS2 is a big success on the PC, then we might have the resources to overcome those limitations and thereby bring the NS2 experience to a larger audience.
The 'console' topic is always a heated one, but it doesn't need to be. NS2 on a PC will never suffer because of the limitations of consoles. If Unknown Worlds can grow to a point where we can share the NS2 experience across more platforms, and more people, then that is something we should celebrate and not deride.
You guys don't need to worry about $20 map pack DLC, we already jumped on that bandwagon with the Babbler King. Cory is hard at work on more DLC concepts, but we feel the $10 per garment price was to low, would you guys agree $40 is a better price point?

Natural Selection...ON A CONSOLE?!
How that works I don't even.....
Is this a serious thread?
Is this for real?

End of thread I think.
And Natural Selection 2 with a gamepad? Never.
lol. too bad that's exactly what ns is.

1) "Remove" (hide) 25% of the finished game and sell a Day 1 DLC password that unlocks it as "Downloadable game enhancement."
2) Set maximum resolution to 1024 x 720
3) Sell any new maps for NS2 as "Downloadable Content" and charge $10 for 2 maps.
4) For Map Pack 2, sell 2 new maps and then resell 2 of the old maps along with it as new DLC.
5) Profit '
6) Sell the Marine Commander as an option for $10 so that in order to play with a marine commander, all team members must have purchased this DLC.
I could go all day...
$5 for 100 pres (single use)
$2 Extractor/ harvester as commander (single use)
$1 Jetpack (single use)
$10 automatically win game without playing (single use)
