<div class="IPBDescription">a black armor treatment as well?</div>This is mostly a throw-away topic, I don't expect it to stick around long, I mostly hope for a dev response to this minor question:
First off I'd like to say I'm glad from the beginning a female marine was even at least considered and I know it'll likely end up being a post-1.0 feature, I'm just glad to see my gender represented in a non-silly way, as far as the concept art indicates it's fairly tastefully done, that's a bit of a rare thing still sadly.
That bit of praise aside I'm curious to know if it's at least been considered if she'll get a black armor version as well for the special edition buyers?

Don't <i>suppose.</i> Call them out for being sexist. I'm still waiting for my gender and ethnicity to be properly represented. I'm a half Japanese, half Irish, French-Canadian.
True love.
The answer is...<b>YES! </b>
PS - ( . Y . )
And what about transgender soldiers? I hope we can see them get their own unique player models as well.
Discuss.
As for the original question, admittedly we've been so caught up with just getting version 1.0 done that we've only gotten as far as knowing that a female marine model is high on the list for an expansion afterwards, but hadn't thought about the spec ops version of the armor. That does make sense, though, so I assume we will probably have the 2 versions done. We'd also like to get more varieties of faces for the male marine, as well.
Regarding the look of the female marine, that concept art was the first marine armor design. The design has since been changed to the version that is in the game currently, so the female marine, when she is created, will have armor that will closely match the updated look, instead.

Welcome to the Internet! By nerds, for nerds!
I'm plenty curious to see the newer design applied to the female marine, I can use my imagination though.
My <a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/713/gaarmor.png/" target="_blank">GA Character</a> for instance. It's respectable looking standard issue armor that either gender can wear.
They pretty much have to, as they discriminate the female gender, giving them no chances to score on real girls.
edit: Well let's say slim chances, some girls are that awesome!
There is a nice <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=114288" target="_blank">Thread </a>in the offtopic about some guy who ... see yourself.
Having said that ... UW <strike>could</strike> should dustribute the female model as a non-free DLC so people who want to support UW would be able to do so without buying an extra copy. <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=114472&pid=1866116&st=0&#entry1866116" target="_blank">See this thread</a>. People with both the Black armor and the female marine would get a black armoured female marine as a sign of their <strike>fanboyism</strike> loyalty
About that I hope the model will have physiological proportions, unlike 99% of females in games. It would really look stupid to have giant boobs and half-naked person running around with a shotgun. But the concept art looks great so I don't fear too much.
Alien Franchise
Mother and Father
Or as I like to call them: B!tching Betty and Whining Bob
Who was it that did the male voices anyways? I'd found out before actually but I simply can't recall.
You mean something like this? I think it could be a good look for improving neckbeard morale!

this game wasnt made in japan, i dont think that will happen.
Ah, the irony of quoting 'Yuuki" on that.
Having a male/female choice will be a great addition to the game. Gaming is spreading further and further throughout society, and it's natural that people will want to play as their gender. Males have no monopoly on enjoying action games (even if basement-dwelling males have led the charge), and I believe having a male/female character choice will help spread NS2.
Hah.
I don't think the female marines would need to hide. All those NS1 veterans will have relieved their sexual frustration on many an unfortunate gorge.
And yes, looking forward to playing as a Frontierswoman. And chomping some, too.
