No more patch 152 bar :(

Maybe they are still going to release it this friday but have some more things planned (hopefully)

I still have the same problem preventing me from playing and testing the alpha :
on the server page, all servers have 20-50 ping, but when i connect to one, i have a 999-2000 ping, and it's unplayable.

    isn't this fixed yet ?

Nothing has changed for a while, we're still waiting on the big network fix patch.

Uh, isn't that like, assists, kills, building kills etc?
  • LoweLowe Join Date: 2010-07-22 Member: 72661Members
It doesn't bode well that they had this enormous of a coding problem in their game, nor the fact that it has taken them over a month to fix it. :-\ Ah well, they still got my $40 and I can't wait to get playing. <3

The thing is, the game is progressing. So whether you have it now or later, it will probably be in a relatively similar state were it not have these problems. The next release should be huge and full of features, just go out and get some fresh air or play exit path.

    Because exit path rocks.

I think it would be sweet to hear whether the missing build marker on progress page signals a patch or some change in plans. It has been one and a half months since any bigger update. If the progress page is the only progress information we are getting, I'd like to see some explanation for changes in it.

Onos long jump sounds good, extra camera shake when he lands?

Also, nice to see progress on the other alien structures!

So what's the consensus everyone? Will Build 152 make it to 'Accepted' by Friday?

I'm itching to make new videos, so here's me hoping.

I believe so, now with ladder implementation :D

Replicate sounds familiar, an upgrade for Frontiersmen?

Oh bugger. PsiWarp your confidence boosted my hopes a little more, but then I realised Build 152 has again disappeared from the progress page

As for Replicate, it's probably familar from perusing the menu options as marine Commander. The tooltip appears to indicate an ability to replicate a structure.

Edit: I must start calling them Frontiersmen...

Nice, that will come in handy when HP on the IP hits rock bottom :)

The devs do seem fairly confident on their progress thus far. I'm sure they will get it right!

Pretty much, with a few possible exceptions like the fade and the onos stuff.

I seen this has been up on the board for a while.

    Maybe this info will help:

Running a 4 player private game using "comodo" VPN this happened twice and it was when a broken sound file played. By broken i mean like when the mac attacks another player and the screech is enough to make you throw your headset to the floor. I noticed a few of the audio files suffered this problem. (like a bad render in sound forge)

It seemed the only one who lost audio was the one hosting so we relaunched and another hosted, same result. after the mac attacked a player, it screeched and the host experienced complete audio loss.

Not sure if this is the same results you where looking at but in my own opinion it is the corrupt audio file causing this issue but at same time we could not tell if it had something to do with who was hosting at the time or pure chance.

I'm just talking out of my ass here, but considering that they're still working on actor sync optimization and getting TCP in... and haven't even started packet compression or the bug that only shows up after 30 minutes, 10/08 seems a little more realistic if not 10/15.

It really depends. If the game is in a playable state it could be anytime. If the game is still deemed unplayable it will wait until further fixes. Its been pretty clear and since we dont know the current stage of the problem we are all just taking blind guesses. Fingers crossed its soon though. Activity on these forums is really tapering off and it just feels like the original enthusiasm and hype the game built up is fading. A good new patch is needed shortly to bring back players and interest in the game.

I think, if the updates is not going to come out this friday, I do believe it would be in their interest to create an article. It would breathe some life back into the forums and it's been very long since last time anyway.

another week without an update ... sigh.
  • CrowCrow Melbourne Join Date: 2003-01-16 Member: 12376Members
It was removed from the progress page for a reason. The progress page is intended to be an approximate week. I expected that reason to be a delay in the patch. This is backed up by the tweet that suggested it was a little harder to release than anticipated. On a historical basis, I'd predict a patch sometime next week - if they are keeping with previous releases - Monday/Tuesday.

I would be (happily) suprised if we get an patch in 2 months.

UWE style to get hopes up for nothing.
