I think you guys at UWE should start sending these over Microsoft's way...see if they'll give you extra funding if u do a 'sponsored' Xbox Live version.

Very impressive. While the 'TSA' does look slightly on the 'OK' side, I can live with it due to the rest of the model & textures looking awesome.

On a technical side, is the mouth and face able to use facial expressions and/or lip-sync?

Next Time, add a Link in your first post.

I'd say they should have atmospheric guarding, at least as upgrade.
would allow some neat gimmicks on maps, like hazardous areas that
can only be entered by kharaa until TSA researches the rebreather.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I'm gonna hazard a guess that the lights on chest/back change color to signify what squad you're in, but that's pure speculation.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
My guess it's to make ninjaing harder.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! These marines look absolutely fantastic. Great job, guys. I was just staring at them going "No. In-game? No. Yes? Yes! That's in-game!"

Just a side-note, when we get the tools and such, will we be getting all of the player models and everything as well?

I thought you were bull######ting us when you said that they were in-game.
By the fourth page I'm like c'mon guys, this has gone on long enough, so I zoom in on the highest resolution, and look at the hands, and dear god.
Totally in-game. The thumbnails just.. look different from the background.
    DEAR FAFLMASLPCMASOFMASFing GOD!
    Wow!
    WOWOWOWOWOWOW!
If I had enough money, I'd buy SE AGAIN!
    Oh, excuse me, I've ######.

    Oh yes. Oooh yes.

It looks just too freaking detailed, graphically this game is pleasing as hell, but I wonder if I have to buy a whole new computer to play this though >_<
Anyway, besides from the OMGPRAISE I have to comment that the backside of the ass and legs are incredibly bare, although it will probably be hard to find a solution to that without messing the aestethics up. Mostly reacted to that since saying "reinforcing areas where the Kharaa attacked" and then not protecting the legs, the biggest area for a Skulk to bite not being armoured is a bit odd. And I personally liked the carapace-helmet more, this one is very very bulky but I can see how it would be realistically applicable since there probably have to be some technology to maintain link to the commander and to send information on the marine's condition... but I think it's somewhat of a downer compared to the conceptart we were shown back then.

And to all talking about the parts that emit light... I have to ask this:
...will the Kharaa "flashlight" in NS1 be in NS2 as well?

I mean that's the complete difference from using the emitted light to communicate to other marines where they are (I like on light on front, two light on back to help see which side we are seeing in dark places) as opposed to revealing their positions to the Kharaa, since they can see them completely lit up anyway if that flashlight is included in NS2.

Otherwise, I think I Came is proper wording for this.

MY GOD u guys just keep amazing me every time really good job!
Just some notes u seemd to stamp TSA all over the place, I would only keep the one on the shoulder ( like real life soliders ) and delete the ones on the forhead and backhead.
other then that its look reallllllyyyy good and they look more badass.

    keep up the good work.

The technical side that is. The lightning model is really top-notch.
However, the model itself.. What's up with the bare ass?
And what really bugs me are those TSA scribbles on the armor and helmet. Looks like the rebellious marine cut them there himself to damage TSA's PR by looking stupid.
Otherwise, good job, the armor looks functional and mostly though-out :)<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Agreed, the render looks awesome with great lighting.
The bare ass thing is odd
The TSA text on the helmet and armour do look like someone hand painted them rather than they were made with the armour.

    +1 race/sex customisation

Other than that I can't fault it, great job guys!

It looks like a cross between generic space marine and American Gladiator. The old NS helmet was like an insect carapace almost, which was pretty neat. The new one doesn't look very nice at all.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    +1

it looks really silly from the front - back and sides look good, but the front is just missing something (probably a visor or gas mask) it just seems silly making armour that protects every part of the body except perhaps the most important and fragile part !
i'd think that protecting the face would be highly important in combat - with all of that acid, slime, hot shell casings, and flame throwers, and shrapnel flying about the place!

the rest of the armour looks 100% awesome

also i hope not all of the faces are going to look identical - as much as i like that look of that tough guy :D
maybe the face looks too realistic and out of place from the rest of the concept art style look of the armour - you really want a consistant look for the whole model, as the face kind of stands out right now - also it is too clean - why not a bit fo grime and dirt, and maybe a 5 o'oclock shadow unshaven look :) these guys are rough right? not fashion models!

i also didn't notice because of sheer excitement, but is that the new LMG? :) because i likes it!

I wonder if u replace the black leather thing on the face with metal, that might make them look better. but maybe its not that important its not like we gonna look eachother in the face with all the skulks running around :D.
really good to see that the graphics are keeping up with the modern games out there right now, I mean everytime i imagine how the game will look like and then u guys release some footage and totally blow me away, the art is going in the right direction and the amount of details u put in are very impressive.
now come on release the map editor so we can start working too :D

Is the black armor going to be the same shape as this one, or will it have some other awesome armor shape?

Looks great guys, except maybe the TSA markings.

I'd just like to point out the original NS1 marine seems to have no ass armor to speak of either. You can somewhat see it <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/images/ns/screenshots/ns-marine-defense-core.jpg" target="_blank">here</a>.
