ask players for contracts, they pay better than npc trade routes. also: npc courier missions pay better than trade routes.

doesn't that depend on the route?

you could do player trading, ie. buy t2 mods for cheap, sell elsewhere for more. you probably need 10m+ capital to start with this though.

That sounds good but I have no idea where to buy t2 mods, any suggestions?

The market.

Like everything else.

Try the market hubs like Rens, Oursulaert, Jita, (Amarr?)

About the rupture being very bad in level 2 missions thing. to keep small ships viable in game bigger guns have a harder time hitting them, this is a combination of numerous factors. to learn more about how it works Check this out. To kill frigates in a cruiser you have to minimize the factors you have control over, primarily the traversal velocity of your target.

To do this you have a few options, first keeping the target at range thus coming towards you this means he is flying in a straight line at your face and your guns. Secondly, you can fly your ship so that your rotation is similar to his track around you. maximizing your chance to hit. the down side is that it is hard to do, but done right it can make frigates vanish. Finally, the last good option is one of every ones favorites. Fit some webs, make his speed about 1 m/s and then you shouldn't have a problem hitting him.

Oh, and if you are playing around with those with this add traversal to your overview.

Finally as a note to those of you thinking of a career in piracy, this is a guide to how you will get killed in a frigate. So, your goal is to prevent some one from doing all the stuff I just described to you.

In the trading world it turns out pirates are very good sources of isk, they generally cannot get back into high sec so a relationship with some red and flashies can net a very handy amount of isk, though you will need a hauler, and likely a bit of isk to finance the deal, and the risk is high.

"risk is high, though"
yeah, some people like to pay me with hybrid charges into my hull.... though i do love all the medslots on the badgre, makes for some awesome ewar/tank lols. double the fun with backup.

Well, i've been playing for about a month and I've learned tons. I'm currently piloting a vexor which I have fitted for maximum drone violence and some nice armor tanking. I have also done lots of low-sec trading in my indy (EVE Trader is easy money). I'm in a corp, which is not really doing much in low-sec areas but we're getting there. Salvaging is a good way to make a little cash too.

Anyway, how do I start making the transition to low-sec? My first plan was to get a tristan and *fit it for piracy and go and have some fun. Why do I get the feeling this will screw up my faction standings...

duh

edit: i meant fit, not rig. sorry...

probably because it will.

on a side note, rigs are pricey but awesome.

What I do is generally cause lag which makes the enemy ships explode. The types of lag include but are not limited to: blobbing, spamming local chat, destroy shuttles full of bookmarks, self destruct my pod along with half of my gang, log on or off EVE, deploy drones, drop cans, anchor bubbles, hack local, and sometimes sit at a pos or gate.

I think half of it is true. Honestly, the "self destructing pods to cause lag" one was the best.

I took a stab at the trading tech 2 stuff and it part worked. I brought back around 2.5 million of stuff as a test and found the small shield boosters went within a few days however i've had no luck with tech 2 weapons, mining equipment or afterburners.

Other than shield boosters what would you expect to sell well?
• BlackMageBlackMage [citation needed] Join Date: 2003-06-18 Member: 17474Members, Constellation
frigate mods tend to do best since the frigs are the easiest to train up and the easiest to blow up

Antifreeze, if you really REALLY want to make good money, you can buy T2 modules such as small, medium, large, XL shield booster t2, ballistic controls t2, magnetic stabalizers t2, gyrostabalizers t2, power diagnostic t2s, t2 ammo for rails/missiles/laser crystals/projectile turrets/drones t2...

The list goes on.

Anyway, bring all this stuff to ISS Marginis in KDF-GY or ISS Tycho in (can't remember the system name, but it's right next to KDF-GY)

These ISS stations are open for neutrals to dock at (so unless you've shot ISS before, you should be able to dock)

And a LOT of people actually use these stations so you have a big market. and T2 stuff is not possible to make in 0.0 unless you happen to be one of the (12?) people or so who have the BPO for that particular module/ship. So if you can bring in modules that can't otherwise be produced, people will pay through the nose for T2 stuff when all the have otherwise is T1 or named.

You can sell stuff for 2x the price it sells for in empire usually... sometimes more, sometimes less. Do your market research and find out what will sell well (by bringing down one mod of each for example, and putting the price reeeeally high and keep lowing everyday until somebody buys)

In my experience T2 shield extenders and T2 shield boosters seem to sell the best. Good luck!

(only reason I don't do this is because my alliance has been naughty and we can't dock at ISS stations now :'(

I feel the best way to deal with not being able to dock at ISS stations is to take them.

Then we would destroy the market in those stations and defeat the point entirely.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention something about my "I feel the best way to deal with not being able to dock at ISS stations is to take them" statement. It is also a good way to deal with other issues involving ISS, and there are a few people that have issues involving ISS. So, it's probably a good idea to hold off on that money making plan.
