There are a few for me...

The best one for me is "House" When Roger Cobb takes his son back from Big Ben and is all like *Grab grenade "SO LONG...SUCKER!!" Insert grenade into ribcage*

Of Mice And Men: The entire ending, I still tear up... ;(

Imposter: Alot of the parts. When Ohlam is in the hospital helpin the dood, and finally realizes that the guy isn't in it for drugs, but healing stuffs..
and the ending, yet another one I tear up on.
Thats just a few I can remember atm for this movie...

Short Circuit: My favorite movie. It's gotta be the part when the military finally take Johnny5 away...while J5 is shootin the military, and he starts gettin pwnd, and Steph is all "cry cry stop stop cry" and they finally shut him down....That is a sad part...

Short Circuit 2: When J5 gets the crap beat outta him by Oscar and his gang...and is off wheeling around looking for a little repair......*wobble*

Ok...I'm done with those old movies

That thing is just amazing. Every time I see it I want to join in with the battlecries. It's not a "aww they're dead " feeling but it's a definate "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Defienetly! After the dreadnought has wasted the charging ork, I have to concentrate not to let out a warcry myself

Another amazing scene is in Warcraft 3, the ending demo of the Human campaign. The music is absolutely amazing (I'd love to have it as .mp3). And as the drawbridge slams down, I always go:

I'm surprised that Equilibrium hasn't been mentioned yet (or I have just missed it). A few of my favourite scenes:
    ***SPOILER ALERT***

-The firefight after Preston 'stopped' using Prozac, where he catches the old man and gets blood on his hands. Soon after that he finds the room with "sense" stuff.

-The puppy scene. Oh my god!

-When Preston kills the group of bad guys to protect the "sense offenders", who just get executed moments later...

    -When Mary gets executed

    -The very ending.

Now that I think about this a bit more...

Noir (the ending was so awesome and sad at the same time)

Transfomers (has been mentioned before) when optimus dies I was like NUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!

Interview with a Vampire (Fire scene in paris, that was awesome)

I can think of lots of episodes from the infamous DBZ... but everyone laughs at me. Hehe.

Other then that.. I am out of ideas now that has made me go "ooooh ahhhhh"

That whole movie was great, imo. One scene that really struck was when Scout finally met Boo (was his real name Aurthor? I forgot, shame on me) Radley. It was just so nice.

A Nightmare before Christmas: Opening and Making Christmas.

Requiem for a Dream: Marion throws up.

This is probably only me liking good ol' (over used?) self sacrifice.

    Robocop (3)

When the bad guys has alot of electric weapons shooting at Robo so hes down to 10% operational and he still gets "Primary Objective: Protect civilians" on the hud. Then he crawls up to a unconsious civilian protecting him/her while being slowly shut down by the baddies.

    Starship Troopers 2

When they started shooting for the first time and I realised how crappy it was as every one said.

    Aliens 4

As a alien sneaks into a escape pod filled with humans just as it launches *brrr*

Just reading through the wikipedia page of Red Dwarf and reminded of another moment... The episode where Queeg takes over the ship, and towards the end Holly gets "deleted". It's quite a sad scene, pretty good writing as well for a show that revolves around mainly ridiculous plots (and yes I do like Red Dwarf). Even though the moment is ended quite quickly, it's still sad.

When Naota crawls out of Canti's head imbued with the essence of Atomsk, he just looks really cool.

I can't help it. It's not a movie, but I have this thing for well-scored music.

    http://www.cw-meltingpoint.com/1962/site/index.php

For something that's actually from a musical/movie, I'm totally taken by "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera:

QUOTE

Leave all thoughts

only then can you belong to me

Again, it's this thing for music...

Wow, that's the second mention of Short Circuit. I didn't realize people got so emotional about that movie.

When Haruko leaves and I realized that it was over. I guess it's better than letting it drag on and turn inevitably bad though .

    Has this been mentioned yet?

Independance Day, when you see the alien ship hovering over NYC for the first time. I don't think I'd seen anything before that quite matched the awesomness and hugeness of what was on screen at that moment.

One of these days I hope to look up to the sky and see something of such a size hovering in the air (in the same way that bricks don't ). I actually had a dream once when I was small that such a thing happened, though I can only guess it was a dream. I don't actually remember dreaming it, it's one of those weird memories that feels like it actually happened...

That scene in Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith when.... JUST KIDDING!! HEHE!

Um, probably the scene that made me tingle the most the first time I saw it was in Matrix when Neo got up out of his processing chamber, pulled the tube out of his mouth and looked around. Man, I was pretty stunned.

Yeah that was definately a 'cool' moment. The initial training program where Morpheus explains to Neo what's going down in the world was just as powerful too, where you get to see the fields of babies and the 'real' world some more.

Ahh man. I guess I couldn't come up with a film scene that made me tingle. But then again, none of the scary movies make me that scared.

To be honest though, I haven't had a true catharsis since the day I realized that I would never have one. There have been times when I thought; Wow! Now that was bloody brilliant. I've even had that "shiver down your spine" sort of moment, but it wasn't something that made me think differently. And that has more to do with the musical score for me. If the music is powerful, I could be left crying at the middle of an episode of Barney because little Johnny can't find his stuffed animal. I'm just sad that way.

Am I disillusioned with today's movies?

Aren't there some pretty darn good ones?

Do I think I'm cool just because I used catharsis?

All these questions and more will be answered on the next episode of Cold-NiTe Post Z!

    :: EDIT ::
I second what Asal said. I ended up renting Boondock Saints 8 times to see with different groups of friends. I never totaled the amount of rentals in my head even until after the fact. What a waste.

Forgot, gonna have to second Boondock Saints as it is stated: One of the best movies.

I suggest any who don't know what we're talking about go ahead and rent it (preferably buy it, because you'll save money that way). It's a worthwhile thing to see. Just trust me.
