It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

Sims 2 is pretty... interesting. heh. Yeah, that's a good word for it. There's something fiendishly clever about systematically ruining the lives of avatars whom you are charged with taking care of. And at the same time, the scenarios are almost so real its kinda wierd, but then the ghosts & bunnies show up.

I found (some) of the screenshots! I was hitting Print Screen out of habit instead, so some moments (such as child drowning) I did not get, but here goes nothing:

<b>A Tale of Two Sims...</b>
So our story begins with a happy "well off" family, the Smith family. Bob, a recently retired something or nother, and his young wife Jill, as well as their two children, whose names are not important due to their impending doom.
<img src='http://www.doomaniac.com/stuff/Sims%202/a_tale_of_two_sims_01.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

First things first: Drown both kids in the swimming pool.

The parents mourn for awhile, but the mother, being the cold hearted **** that she is, stops caring after a day. Hell, she finally got her tv back!

Sadly, the newly freed-of-responsibility couple begins to fight, and their relationship crumbles. The Woman spends all day sleeping and has quit going to work. The Man is forced to sleep in the bed of his recently passed away daughter because he and his wife cannot work things out.
<img src='http://www.doomaniac.com/stuff/Sims%202/a_tale_of_two_sims_02.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

The woman, who used to be a neat freak, has now let the house completely go. Food and plates litter the floor, attracting flies and, oddly enough, her husband. He sure loves to eat pizza picked up off the foor.
<img src='http://www.doomaniac.com/stuff/Sims%202/a_tale_of_two_sims_03.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

She has become a bit of a night owl, and while her husband is asleep and/or intoxicated, she has been inviting a certain friend over. A certain female friend. Things are going slowly of course, with nothing more than a friendly hug, although things got a little hot in the hot tub the other night.

This infuriates the husband of course. In a fit of rage he kicks and smashes his late daughter's dollhouse with no remorse. And since his wife has been skipping work and sleeping during the day, he's the one to answer all the phone calls, always telling her employeers that she isn't there.
<img src='http://www.doomaniac.com/stuff/Sims%202/a_tale_of_two_sims_04.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

The Wife came of age and passed onto the elderly stage in her life. No longer attracted to her wrinkled body, her lesbian lover-to-be became uninterested and decided to go swimming. The wife, desperate and rejected, followed in hopes of making amends.

Only after she made a horrific belly flop from the diving board did she remember that the swimming pool was still missing a ladder, and that she was doomed to die the same horrible fate as her two children.

Meanwhile, the husband, ignoring the screams of his wife, was having a wonderful conversation with the pink bunny, and had began to flirt lightly with it. After a brief leg humping (I swear this actually happened, or at least it sure looked like it did), the bunny had to get away and so it jumped in the pool. He was now doomed to die a horrible death the same as his wife and his long forgotten children.
<img src='http://www.doomaniac.com/stuff/Sims%202/a_tale_of_two_sims_05.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

When the smoke cleared, only the bunny stood victorious. The Grim Reaper had to pull a triple shift that day...

    Sounds quite funny but I could never get into a Sims game.
    I always got bored after 20 minutes or so.
    I might give Sims 2 a try when I get bored of Burnout 3.

    Looking forward to those screenshots <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    If you get Sims 2, be sure to socialize your sim, lest they get a visit from the <i>Social Bunny</i> O_O

    Yes. And it works just fine.

    In fact, so well I'd swear the devs just had a variable in the code in anticipation of someone hex editing it to turn it off. :P

    And where the hell does it save your screenshots to?

    IIRC at first the screenshots are just saved in the game so to speak - aka. ingame photoalbum, and then you can choose to save them to disk or something...but this is just a far fetched memory and it's about The sims 1.

    To find the pictures:

    Open up Search (in Windows)
    Choose "Pictures, music, or video"
    Uncheck the music and video boxes
    Run the search (without a file name typed in, or with one if you know the name)
    Look through the hundreds of pictures on the computer.

    Has it actually come out? If so, do they still have the headstones where the chars die? I remember once, with the Goth family, I walled Cassandra (or whatever the kids name is) into the area with all the graves. She cried herself to death.

    Anyway, TAAKE MORE SCREENIES! IT IS COMMANDED!

    The Sun 01:57 makes me wonder how fast time moves compared to Sims 1...if anyone could answer that. Looks a lot like the first one, but I don't expect EA to change everything on its Life Simulation Monopoly...

    Probably fun-ish...at least for my Sister...if her computer could run it.

    I always found playing Survivor was the funnest thing you could do for Sims 1.

    Get 8 kids, throw them into the wierdest and funkiest house in the world. And then watch them as they one by one get sent off to army school. Give them some fridges of course, but you aren't allowed to force them to do anything.

    The adult version isn't as fun, because they aren't allowed to have any food, so then they just all die at the same time. Go go Grim Reaper!
